Thank you for your very nice video, I have explored this town also. There are tidbits you missed, If you had driven down Second Street you would have gone down towards the creek and water plant building, and along the way, you would have seen mine adits dug into the side of the hill on the right. (right along side the road) there are 12 to 15 mining adits, very fun and surprising. also I suggest exploring the cemetery, it is very interesting and gives a sense of history. The funnest part of Victor is driving there from Florence Co. up Phantom Canyon Road or you can drive through Canon City and find Field Road that becomes Shelf Rd. and it will take you to Cripple Creek, Both roads are amazing to drive.I suggest you take another trip to this amazing little town. I have been there quit a few times over the years and still find new surprises. Above all...Enjoy yourself!
Nicely done!!! More accurate history that other videos I've seen. Correction: At the beginning of the video, you are on Teller County Rd. 81, not CO 67. You turned off 67 onto 81 where the town of Gillett was located. The town you are driving through at the point is Goldfield. You entered Victor at 2:18 of the video. History tidbit, at 5:58 of the video, the gravel street you are about to drive on was once a railroad grade.
I visited Victor several times a few years back. Nikola Tesla stayed here on business as he was electrifying mines in the area. I stayed at the Black Monarch in the room Tesla stayed at. Super neat hotel, they had artifacts from Telsa. I remember post cards from Tesla in the room specifically. The Hotel is supposed to be haunted. I caught orbs flying around in the room I stayed in. I cannot wait to go back. Victor is a neat town close to Cripple Creek, it has a couple of nice restaurants there, everyone was friendly. Goldfield is close by and is a neat place to go explore.
Diggin' the music ! Great selections. Fits the spirit of the old mining towns here in Colorado
