Really enjoyed the video. Just on the topic of this style of game. Where Stacklands popularized casual card based resource management the first game I know that leaned into this exact card mechanic was called Cultist Simulator (with their new game - Book of Hours). It is though much more complex and more rpg / narrative based game play using cards.
Watching APQ play cultist sim would be insane lol, I think Book of Hours is too lengthy and would fit a longer series better, not the one-off style he likes to upload with these games. Neither are really as rougelike as the games he normally plays so idk if they'd fit. Love them both to death though, so excited for the House of Light dlc
@@apqLIVE You might like Cultist Simulator. There's a steep learning curve, no tutorial on purpose and it can be quite intense with everything on timers, but it is another card-based management resource game. Lots of reading, lots of world lore, it's a really fun game just not everyone's cup of tea. If you stream and upload to youtube, I'd definitely give it a full watch 👍 Not much of a stream watcher myself but I always have time for the videos you upload here lol
Not sure if you find it out by the end of the video, but you need to put the magnet on the inductor with the thing you’re attracting. Also, challah is based on Hebrew word and is pronounced like the h/ch in Hanukkah / Chanukah, kind of like “hah-lah”. Tanghulu is a traditional Chinese dessert which used to be made with hawthorn berries but now it’s made with basically any fruit, dunked in molten sugar which is then cooled (so like bite-sized candy apples)
I got the game after watching this and had a blast playing, so thanks for introducing me to this game (and the card stacking genre). 😺While Cookard definitely has some balancing problems when you get towards the end, it is still really really fun and thoroughly entertained me for the roughly one and a half hours it took to finish it. 👍And it's free!
You might be able to stack ingredients for things on the stuff you're using. Like putting multiple flour and water in the mixer to keep making dough. It seemed like it was willing to stack when you did it accidentally but then you took it off before it could process. I love time management and resource management games with automation so this looks like a great game. If you like this game but want a more unique vibe, I recommend cultist simulator. Warning, very hard and you will die multiple times. I definitely recommend watching at least a short primer. Some mechanics are completely unclear and you either accidentally figure it out or you look it up.
Watching at the start you feel that frustration from let's plays when the player doesnt do what you want. You can sell the water, why ever turn the faucet off once built? Seems like you always need water for something so it should just always consume the available energy since it's so slow anyway

So card tableau and resource management are the next "common boardgame mechanisms becoming breakout hits in video games" after deckbuilding huh?
Man, Stacklands really just spawned a whole genre didn't it
Tanghulu is a type of treat thats fruit dipped in melted sugar to make a hard shell
Challah is a type of braided bread

To my knowledge Cult Simulator was the first card-crafter-tabletop-whateverthisis
oil baron apq be like: I have to pay the guy who is making me money so he can eat! this is ridiculous!
That was so much fun to watch!
The second Stacklands son. How many copycats or inspired games like that do we have?
Witchhand, Artist Life Simulator, and Card Survival are a few more that I know of. It really is a cool style of game.
Good job
Really wish they release a mobile version of this so we can play it on the go
part 2 out now! 👀 th-cam.com/video/L2a8PSix2y4/w-d-xo.html
