Wow!! I've been having so much trouble finding a quicker solution for my CLog 3 edits. This hit the nail right on the head! THANK YOU Pascal!! Thanks again!!! Liked and Subscribed. 👍
First of all thanks for the video really helpful. Second, if I have other footage in my timeline like goo footage, what should I do? With all those changes in the settings will affect the other cameras image right?
Super useful thanks! I shoot with GoPro 8 as Protune Flat, what is the best way to process it? I don’t think I can use an input color space for this, right? Is there any conversion LUT available?
Gutes Timing, gestern das erste mal in Flog aufgenommen 😃 danke, hast du mal ein Video aufgenommen bzw. in Planung wo du „shooting in flog“ als Thema hast? Viele Grüße in die Heimat
Thanks for your content Pascal as always! When i record on my Sony a7iv in 10 bit 4:2:2 with no picture profile i find the colors and dynamic range really amazing without any color grading - it looks absurdly realistic already. Do you always shoot in Log or do you sometimes also shoot with no picture profile? Using no picture profile am I loosing lots of post recovery in case of shooting in difficult situations with high dynamic range even when shooting in 10 bit? And do you observe that footage straight out of camera is getting better with 10 bit cameras? Thanks in advance and Greetings from Germany :)
I always shoot in flog, yes. But I agree that PP Off can give good results. Straight out of camera 10bit doesn’t matter but if you want to color grade, it does.
That's fantastic! I really like working with color management, especially when I have mixed footage. One thing though: dialing back the Kodak LUT does not work properly, it does strange things to the image: if you dial it back to 0, the image does not look like the original anymore. This is annoying but a way to fix this, is explained by Joris in this video (05:19 Dialing back the look): th-cam.com/video/b_Vvc2IAgOM/w-d-xo.html Joris saw this workaround in a Darren Mostyn video. He however uses very different color management settings and I am not sure how to set the CSTs in the power grade in the pipeline you present. Any suggestions?

The first 2 minutes were helpful for me! I didn’t know you had to change your color space like that using a Mac. Thanks man
I was finally able to export a video and see no changes in the color, almost gave up haha. Thank you very much!
Do you have a class? You are the only person I’ve found that legit shows so much for beginners getting started, thank you so much for that!
Thanks a lot 👍🏻
I have some classes here: pascalbasel.com/courses/
Thank you Pascal I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for this one
Lots of love from India ❤

What I said in the beginning, don’t do the input color space setting if you didn’t shoot in log. The rest stays the same for GoPro.
@@pascalbasel What to do if I have in the same timeline Sony SLOG footage and Gopro footage for example? Thanks
@@DavidTechEs you can apply settings to specific clips.
Nice vibe of the video as well, are you using xh2s for recording TH-cam in studio or its Sony?
Thanks, for that I used X-H2s
@@pascalbasel amazing results dude. I was thinking to sell my fuji as no videographer using it, but it the inspiration!

If my footage was shot with a Fuji film simulation, for example, Classic chrome, what settings should I use for CST?
If you didn't shoot in F-Log, would the project settings remain the same? Also would you still need a CST node?
Yes, you just use Rec709-A (on Apple devices) as your input color space. CST is for the LUT, so yes that's needed.
Hey can you tell me a CST Setting for a GoPro Hero 8 clip ? with Rec. 709 it looks a bit weird
