As for runs, they do typically have a set run! Firebringer's specifically was July 6 - August 7 of 2016! They ran it the same year as Tin Can Brothers did Spies are Forever, which actually had a concert performance after a performance of Firebringer one night. Barbara 2.0 That’s great! I’m excited to see your reactions to the other shows! Seeing them live is an experience all it’s own. I’ve been to some shows that had some unique issues. Like when I saw Twisted live, Jeff broke the genie lamp, and most notably, I was at the Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals show when Lauren Lopez was super sick and Nick Lang (one of the main writers for Starkid) had to go on in her place as Emma. I have a short clip on my page of Nick rehearsing the choreo for “Cup of Roasted Coffee” like less than an hour before showtime.
Barbara 2.0 it was an experience, that’s for sure. I was there for a Kickstarter backer brunch with the cast before the show, so I got to witness the behind the scenes chaos of them trying to figure out what to do and the quick choreo run throughs. I did have permission from Nick to record a little of the rehearsal stuff and post it after the show went up on TH-cam. Apparently Lauren wasn’t the only one sick during the run of that show. Jeff was telling me during the brunch that at an earlier show during that scene where he is handcuffed to the chair and unconscious, he ran off stage to vomit and then zombie walked back on stage for the “You Tied Up My Heart” song. A lot of the cast wanted them to film the show with Nick as Emma but sadly they didn’t have the equipment to do so that day. I really wish more people could’ve seen the pure chaos of that show.
I can't believe you saw Chorn coming jajajaj Seriously this show is insane but it's probably my favorite Starkid show I love it so much!! Zazzalil is probably my fave character of all the shows, she's such a mood, when she doesn't try to burn the entire planet. I just wish she and Jemilla had more development, but I'm happy with what we've got. I would take that spin-off with Keeri any day tho. And anything with Emberly cause she's adorable (and btw yes she is indeed Jasmine). I'm glad you enjoyed this one! It made me happy to laugh along with you at the jokes :) And also, duck is lord.

If you want to see more of the actress who played Keeri (Denise Donovan) I would recommend watching Starkids first show out of college: Starship. She plays a character somewhat similar to Keeri. Although I should warn you that it is fairly long.
This is kind of unrelated but I just saw your reaction to Hadestown and I think you could give a try to Ulysses Dies At Dawn from The Mechanisms (it is not technically a musical though, but it's a story based album so it could fit the format). It's a sci-fi /noire take on the Greek mythology I think you could enjoy. Ps. Love this series

This is a fun video!! I really like the music in Firebringer, and I think part of it is that Meredith wrote the music (with another guy too)! Most Starkid musicals I’ve watched have music by Jeff Blim, and I like those too, but you can really hear the difference in this one and I love it!
Totally agree, Siena! The music in this is quite different from the other shows I've watched so far. I didn't know Meredith wrote the music, that probably explains why it sounds so unique. Also, I feel like this show definitely needed a female writer
They actually do have a short run for their shows. And if I remember correctly, they film each performance and edit the show together using the best clips from all the recorded performances.

I'm so happy you like The Twist about chorme because I also love it and from what I can tell from the fandom it's a very must either people love that twist or they hate that twist and that twist will kind of like spoiled the rest of the show for them if they don't like it since I love it it becomes one of my favorite shows it's also like I said my first one it's nice to see a video that's actually really nice about that twist because a lot of the ones I've seen just we're not fans but they like the musical up until that point and then like they feel the twist through into the ending but I don't think so because that ending song is excellent. I know your list is probably a million musicals long already, but there are some gems that aren't talked about quite as much but are totally worth a listen! - Come From Away (about the events of 9/11, but focuses on the people on all the flights who were forced to land in Newfoundland and were stranded for a week. It's actually really funny and heartwarming!) - The Lightning Thief (adaptation of the first Percy Jackson book, super accurate to the source material and endorsed by the author of the series) - Anastasia (it's different enough that it's worth a listen even if you've seen the movie; the plot is much more rooted in history) - Dogfight (by the same people who wrote Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land, and Greatest Showman!) Loving this series so far! I've been binging all of the videos today :)

I know if you coming a lot this is one of my favorite Starkid musicals there are tiny hands throughout the entire show that Jamila actually really already kind of love zazzle the best one is in jamilla's lament the line if they only knew I did it for you zazzle. And then Zazzle is just so kind of free-spirited and Mike does not care that yeah she's just going to go with it and probably did actually like Jamila but let things spiral out of control also together is my favorite song in the show and probably one of my favorite songs in Starkid
I agree Jemilla's secretly in love with Zazz the whole time. A few little lines give hints like you mention, but to me the main thing that proves it is that she's literally carrying around a wedding ring even though she's off living with the Neanderthal's and had no reason to think she would ever see Zazzalil again.

This is the first Starkid musical I watched, actually. I heard a soundbyte from "Backfire" in a bunch of Tiktoks and looked it up and never regretted it. I think another good one for your list would be Once on this Island if you haven't already seen or heard it

She is doing the poses of all the people in The Last Supper in rapid succession. In fact, all the poses she does during the song are from famous paintings: The Creation of Adam, The Birth of Venus, The Scream, etc.
Fun Fact: in the Paint How You See Me song, the dances that Emberly does are re-enactments of famous paintings, with the clip in this video (15:22-15:26) showing a re-enactment of the Final Supper painting
The voice from the off is Clark, the tall Neanderthal guy, he did a lot of music for starkid with the band(?) TalkFine and is one of their music directors

Starship is at first so weird, but when you look back it was soooo beautiful! and Trail To Oregon is just Jeff Blim, Joey Richter, Lauren, Jaime and Rachael(the one who was Jasmine) and they kill it! the last two songs of that show our one of my faves! for sure the second to last song when Lauren sings it (bc she is actually a classically trained singer)
Also watch little white lie! You're gonna laugh so heard with Lauren (that's from 2006 I think hahahahah) and spies are forever or noooo what they just did Nightmare time ep 1!

Jemilla and Zaz's relationship is so iconic I love them so much. Also gods we need more Merideth (Jemilla), her voice is intoxicating
2 musicals you can add to your list: Rocky Horror and RENT, these are my 2 all time favourites
If you like Kerri she’s a main character in Starship when she plays February and it’s the little mermaid in space
Also the Lang’s thought that chorn being an alien was too obvious and predictable and almost took it out because of the predictability(when everyone was shook during Chorn)
If you want to see more of the actress who played Keeri (Denise Donovan) I would recommend watching Starkids first show out of college: Starship. She plays a character somewhat similar to Keeri. Although I should warn you that it is fairly long.
I'm not going to lie, my order of watching them was also in order of most Lauren to least--

This is kind of unrelated but I just saw your reaction to Hadestown and I think you could give a try to Ulysses Dies At Dawn from The Mechanisms (it is not technically a musical though, but it's a story based album so it could fit the format). It's a sci-fi /noire take on the Greek mythology I think you could enjoy.

“Ulysses Dies at Dawn” is fantastic. And if you end up liking that one, there’s also “Once Upon a Time in Space,” “High Noon Over Camelot,” and “The Bifrost Incident.”
Each has a fantastic story with amazing songs!
There’s also mini stories on their Tales to Be Told albums. Highly recommend checking out “Alice,” “Frankenstein,” and “Gunpowder Tim vs. the Moon Kaiser.” They’re about 10 minutes long each with a few songs strung together in a short story format. 😁

This is a fun video!! I really like the music in Firebringer, and I think part of it is that Meredith wrote the music (with another guy too)! Most Starkid musicals I’ve watched have music by Jeff Blim, and I like those too, but you can really hear the difference in this one and I love it!
Totally agree, Siena! The music in this is quite different from the other shows I've watched so far. I didn't know Meredith wrote the music, that probably explains why it sounds so unique. Also, I feel like this show definitely needed a female writer
They actually do have a short run for their shows. And if I remember correctly, they film each performance and edit the show together using the best clips from all the recorded performances.

I'm so happy you like The Twist about chorme because I also love it and from what I can tell from the fandom it's a very must either people love that twist or they hate that twist and that twist will kind of like spoiled the rest of the show for them if they don't like it since I love it it becomes one of my favorite shows it's also like I said my first one it's nice to see a video that's actually really nice about that twist because a lot of the ones I've seen just we're not fans but they like the musical up until that point and then like they feel the twist through into the ending but I don't think so because that ending song is excellent. I know your list is probably a million musicals long already, but there are some gems that aren't talked about quite as much but are totally worth a listen!
- Come From Away (about the events of 9/11, but focuses on the people on all the flights who were forced to land in Newfoundland and were stranded for a week. It's actually really funny and heartwarming!)
- The Lightning Thief (adaptation of the first Percy Jackson book, super accurate to the source material and endorsed by the author of the series)
- Anastasia (it's different enough that it's worth a listen even if you've seen the movie; the plot is much more rooted in history)
- Dogfight (by the same people who wrote Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land, and Greatest Showman!)

Ok so Doctor Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog is awesome and severely underated. It's pretty short compared to other musicals and I think you can watch the full thing for free on youtube. It's only about 40 minutes if I remember right. You should definitely check it out!

I know if you coming a lot this is one of my favorite Starkid musicals there are tiny hands throughout the entire show that Jamila actually really already kind of love zazzle the best one is in jamilla's lament the line if they only knew I did it for you zazzle. And then Zazzle is just so kind of free-spirited and Mike does not care that yeah she's just going to go with it and probably did actually like Jamila but let things spiral out of control also together is my favorite song in the show and probably one of my favorite songs in Starkid
I agree Jemilla's secretly in love with Zazz the whole time. A few little lines give hints like you mention, but to me the main thing that proves it is that she's literally carrying around a wedding ring even though she's off living with the Neanderthal's and had no reason to think she would ever see Zazzalil again.
