When the driver asks you where are you going, the answer should be "Dubrovnik" not "Arriva", lol. She was just trying to figure out your destination so she could help you. We were on the coast for 2 weeks and had no issues with communication, everyone pretty much speaks english to some extent. Have fun!

The bus company name is Autotrans, as stated on the door of the bus (and window). Autotrans is one of the local companies that drives for Arriva-a large coorporation that recently started operating in Croatia. That's my guess why she didn't know. Hopefully all Arriva operator companies will merge together into a same name: Arriva Hrvatska -still unknown when it will happen.

I don’t think it did. There was a narrow sliver of land that the road goes through in Croatia
