    I have my Sa2200 since 2004. And I own a 1990 PAC1412 (highest Pacifica model ever) and a fabulous Pacifica 904. All made in Japan to inbelievable standard of craftmanship. Your playing is mesmerising. Thank you for this delightful review.

    Impressive review of a fabulous guitar.
    Looks great,sounds sublime and definitely a worthy contender for a main gigging instrument.
    Can't go wrong if you don't think of other 'big' brands. Open mindedness will win the day.
    Bravo 👏 I love it.

    I just bought one I was about to buy a Deusenberg Starplayer tv but when I played this and experienced the tone, versatility and playability this one won easily. It was $800 dollars cheaper in Australia too.

    The 2200 looks and sounds excellent. If I aimed to get an SA model for myself (as of August 2022 when I’m leaving my comment), I would prefer the 2000. To begin with, I don’t need the coil splitting (unless I purchased a 2000 S). Secondly, the 2000 was manufactured around the time I was born in January 1980. It would appear to be pricey at four figures in USD, but it still is a better value than an authentic 335/345 which it emulates.

    Impressive guitar. More versatile than a 335. Even the coil tap sounds are surprisingly good. Usually that would be a weak point.

    So interestingly enough, my question is, if you’re still responding to comments on this particular video how did you get one made out of maple? I have tracked down this model in every channel and can only find the sycamore versions historically and current. I was just curious thanks. According to Sweetwater guitar Center and a few other dealers, there is no Maple version. Thanks again. 2:47

    A splitable humbucker never sounds exactly the same as a single coil. This is because the deactivated half coil still influences magnetically the active coil. It enhance your sound palette, undeniably, but you are never going to get close to the, say Fender strat. pickup realm.
    For the rest, Yamaha always was a great musical instruments manufacturer. Unlike other main guitar brands, they don't limit themselves to that. They do brass and everything else musical. Or circa all.... with quality! a lot better than the usual brands too! the only drawback is they are more known for their Motorcycles. The only real shortcoming to owning one Yamaha guitar is the resell value. Unfortunately, they are not really sought after on the second hand market.

    • @lqr824
      @lqr824 ปีที่แล้ว

      YES, splits aren't really a substitute at all. I'd say that the reason is that all the parts of a single coil were designed to sound good AS a single. Doubles were designed to sound good AS doubles. When I had just a couple guitars, I wanted to go crazy with coil splits etc. But now with 6-7 electrics, I use the strat or tele (actually a Tokai Breezysound) if I want single coil.

    • @stefanthorpenberg887
      @stefanthorpenberg887 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      True. I use the split function on my SA2200 only when both pickups are on, but one of the humbuckers split. Gives a useable spacey sound for background behind a soloist.

  • @mainsblanches8793
    @mainsblanches8793 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Kind of "noisy" for humbuckers?...badly shielded maybe?...
