Not all stitches will translate to exactly the same look when comparing knit to Tunisian. This gives more of the look of seed stitch. With knit, you are working on both sides of the fabric. With Tunisian, you are working on only one side. Modifications need to be made to the stitch pattern in order to get a similar look. And, of course, there is more than one way to accomplish similar looks. This is just one of them.

To do this stitch pattern exactly as shown, you would start with an even number of initial chains.
You don’t happen a list of stitches like this that look nice on the back as well? Google is not helping! LOL
