- Epic Studios brings you The Vapors (famed for their 1979 smash hit 'Turning Japanese').
The Vapors are an English new wave and power pop band that initially existed between 1978 and 1981. They had a top ten hit with the song "Turning Japanese" in 1980, which reached No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart, and No. 36 in the US Billboard Hot 100.
Epic Studios is an exceptional media and entertainment centre located in the heart of East Anglia, away from the inflated prices and often chaotic, polluted environments surrounding many of the alternatives. Despite its rural location in Norwich, our studios are based just minutes away from an airport and reliable train service, so it is easy to reach us from anywhere in the country. We provide excellent facilities and experienced, friendly staff - trained to help with every aspect of TV production - and currently serve a diverse range of clients from around the UK.

"Most Underrated Ever" -- every Vapors fan, ever
And we're right, of course.
The drummer looks like he's really having a great time.
One of the most underated bands of the 80s! Luv it!
Turning Japanese 🇯🇵
“Magnets” the song. As close as artists come to perfection!
This is amazing. I didn't know they were back together. I've been a fan for 20 years, and this is the first time I'm seeing them play. Have always loved those basslines.
Seriously! That was the first thing I notice when I heard a different song other than I'm turning Japanese. I think it was Trains. Couldn't get enough. Love that baseline.
Letter from Hiro - all time fave. And Johnny's In Love Again, classics.
Li-i-i-i-ive At The Marquee, same thing happens every day
Saw them in 1980, going again 40 years later in 2020. My 2nd favourite band.
Wich is your first favvo band? :)
@@pissedman1491 Would have been great if the answer would have been The Skids !!!

Saw them at the Alternative Festival in Skegness and whilst not a great fan first time out was impressed with their songs and performance. The drummer really impressed and for one song in particular absolutely smashed the shit out of the drums so much that the roadie had to come on a couple of times to tie things down. Have "skim watched "this but can't find the song, but a gallon of wine hasn't helped.
Anyway, I'm following them now and you should 'cos theyre good
VAPORS (Excellent)
They had a lot of even better material than "I Think I'm Turning Japanese" (yes a great tune also), but there should have definitely been more hits for sure (at least far better recognition for such great material)!
Totally- an under rated band for great tunes- in North America.
So glad they played "Bunkers" - so relative these days, possibly what's to come.
Really great that they are playing again these days! Hoping for new recordings. I totally agree with others who said that The Vapors are /were a seriously underrated band.
The drummer dude is happy
I would totally go see them if they toured the states
News at 10. Classic
Now I really can't wait to see them in NY in October. Unfortunately the guitarist can't make it. I hope his son is good.
Jimmy Jones.Classic
Holy fuck... a nice blast from the past!!
Just love this concert, so glad their back, looking forward to a album fingers crossed, for it to be soon!
Sussex uni some time back in 1981 - hopefully see them in 2020
Letter From Hiro, yeah.
Good gig. Wish I could catch them in NYC at the Mercury lounge
Lol jumping mullet :D I remember that gig first time seeing them and second time in London 229 :)
Very good Performance
That's my old mucker Owen Carne, that Letter From Hiro was dedicated to - his daughter has since graduated (with Honours, I believe).
here comes the judge :)
all the reasons they should just leave it alone now .great in their day
Jimmie Jones and Letter from Hiro. 💓😍
Spring collection!
27:02 : Letter from Hiro.
How come I’m moving in my room and the crowd are stood like statues
Shame the sound on this is a bit messed up, looks like it was a great gig. Can hardly hear the bass.
BladeV8 Right, what a pity
Considering this was tracked at a recording studio, it's kinda unforgivable and not a great promo for them to upload.
It's all vocals and drums. Very light on bass and guitar.
Sound technician needs firing
Seriously. Absolutely horrid mix.
Daylight Titans is the fucking best. It's either that or the whiskey I'm drinking.
58:00 or about has turning Japanese
Is it just me or has the drummer spent a FUCKTON of time in a tanning booth since the 80s?
What's up with tuning down a half-step?
Age
Age and it sounds better....at least to me..
Nice concert - So THE VAPORS didn't play 'Turning Japanese' - thats bizarre. Just me??????
It's there - at 58:05.
C.J. T they did play it originally but someone did a copy
oops 58:04 - TJ - Hmmmmmm might be - LMFAO - i'm a nit sometimes
Where was this?
Norwich first ever gig off these guys for me and only 19 :)
Track listing anyone please ? ;-)
nice footage. The mix is so bad.
So is the black guy the only one who isn't an original?
yes !
Love the Donald trump insult right before the "AMERICA" song leads in........
The drummer is on vapors and not really in the Vapors lol!!!!
shockingly bad.
