some more honourable mentions Shortys Fulfil the dream, Birdhouse The End, Mullen Vs Daewon Pt2, Zooyork Mixtape, the Panic/Blueprint vid, Playing Fields. Toy Machine Welcome to Hell, and Zero's 1st vid.
Nice List! Well done. I was a little surprised to not see any Zero videos mentioned though :/ Or at least Toy Machine's Welcome to Hell. Anyway, I really love your content. Glad I came across this channel. Happy New Year.
tilt mode man down is by far my favorite, purely on the fact that it shows not only some really sick skateboarding, but also how fun skateboarding can be, and gets me suuuper hyped to go out and skate
I'd have said Virtual Reality over Questionable, but the Olivelawn song during the mimiramp part really did set it off. Think World's Trilogy could have been on that list, too.
Honourable mentions: RDS FSU, The DC Video, One Step Beyond, Birdhouse The End, Flip Sorry, Hot Chocolate, Krooked Kronichles, Osiris Subject to Change, LAND PIRATES, Pretty Sweet, Logic 4 etc
Guys...it's a SUBJECTIVE list. It's his personal opinion. I'm sure RadRat is aware of the impact and influence all the videos he didn't list had on skateboarding. For example, I'm sure RadRat has love for the Baker videos, however, he just prefers these more. Obviously his opinion isn't gonna be the same as everyone else's. Good work, RadRat! 👍
Yes, its a list based on Nostalgia. I am sure in a few years time we will be mentioning vids and the kids will be like WTF bro? What about futuredeck 2 from Croc SB's?
@@pwill3958 you cant make a list like this without yourself putting input. its not a biggest skate vid or whatever by the numbers list (thats established by the frequent use of first person). that said, hes still trying to be objective with it which he does by explaining why he likes those videos so as to make it legit. you watch too much watchmojo or some shit if you think "best" has to reaffirm the majority's opinion. while radrat can be snarky, i think people just dont get people having personal opinions; it ought to be something that should be respected especially in the skate community imo since it shows his own passion for the stuff, by doing away from being a robotic shill pumping out content.
@@itsyeaboi5333 again he didn't say that. He literally begins with "this time on Rad Rat video(s), we list the BEST skateboard videos of all time'. He didn't say 'In my opinion'. So a newbie might think that this list is the Best list of all skate videos. See the difference?
You’re missing quiet a few videos that literally CHANGED skateboarding forever. But of coarse this is a subjective list so can’t hold anything against you. Good work radrat!
No hot chocolate tour with the lengendary switch flip switch manny by Chris Roberts? Jokes aside, I like that list. It clearly shows that you're more of a tech guy but I'm the same so I guess I agree with this list!
101: Trilogy, Chocolate: La Nueve Vidas de Paco, Girl: Goldfish AND Mouse, Toy Machine: Welcome To Hell, Shorty's: Fulfill the Dream, early regular 411 issues and the euro vids, FTC: Penal Code, World Industries: 20 Shot Sequence, Plan B; Second Hand Smoke, TSA: Life in the Fast Lane, Alien Workshop: Photosynthesis --- the golden era of skateboarding
Fully flared, and Yeah right were dope but you missed out on adding ANY BAKER VIDEOS or my favorite, remedy. I was given a copy by the late great Harold Hunter R.I.P
Hey Radrat that was a rad list-- there were a couple I had never even heard of. Some of my favorites were Toy Machine-- Jump Off a Building and Welcome to Hell... Alien Workshop-- Photosynthesis... and Maple-- 7 Steps to Heaven
I agree with this list. You and I started skateboarding around the same era so these were also the videos I was watching after school before I headed out to skate. Best times of my life man. I also loved Flip Sorry and Zero Dying to Live.
I can't believe I used to watch your videos 10 years ago, forgot about your channel when I quit skating, couldn't find it years later when I remembered it and then stumbled upon your new channel another few years later, only realising you were the same guy after doing a bit of digging.. Funny how life works.
planet earth - now n later, very early 90's, first full length video I saw, I don't count rob and natas street skating or powell - attack as they were fairly ropey lol
Round 3 and Yeah Right! are my favourites so glad to see you've included them however I think Photosynthesis deserves an honourable mention because that whole habitat section is crazy and who better to finish the section then Brian Wenning.
Couldn't agree more! That is the ultimate feel good flick! Packed with tons of innovative tricks, funny stuff and perfectly matching soundtrack. Also check out the tilt mode section from 'Jaded'
Hey! I just started skating again after 10 years and your videos have helped a ton! Your channel is one of the only I subscribe to. Thanks for the videos :)
People give Mullen flack for having crap style in older videos, because mainly in a lot of his competitions he performed perfectly. He was then as years went on held to that level of quality and cadence, and was further judged by that. The true godfather of skateboarding.
Good list, I like the older videos too. I'm 32 now, so all those late 90s early 00s were my early teen years when I was on a board more than I wasn't. Some of the ones you mentioned I would watch daily till I knew them front to back. Made it easy to get inspired to try something new
This list brought me back to middle and high school! I loved the storm. I loved Opinion. I stopped skated seriously right as Fully Flared came out. Those early 2000s skate videos were so rad.
Good list,i had Plan B's questionable and Virtual Reality on tape around 93' if i had to pick the best of the two it would be Virtual Reality,Pat Duffy's part was really good with the Primus song and Rodney Mullen's casper to 360 flip out was amazing.
Flip - Sorry, Osiris - Subject to Change, Zero - Dying to Live, DVS - Skate More, Fourstar - Super Champion Funzone and Chocolate - The Chocolate Tour are just some I would mention for a Top 10 for me.
Having started skateboarding around the same era, your list definitely resonates with me. It may not make any sense for younger or older skaters, but those videos that you picked around 00 were just the best. Big thumbs up for picking the storm, some stuff in it may look cheesy now, but back then everybody was swearing by it.
Some of my favs were Welcome to hell, Fulfill the dream, The Reason, Landspeed, Timelapse, Trilogy, The Storm, Rodney vs Daewon R2! I didn't skate much after 2001 so I missed some of the gems that followed
Very well done. I love the comments on this one as well. Most of my favorites were all mentioned by someone, maybe except for Thrashin' lol j/k. We'd really need a top 20 or 30 to include everything. I've been inspired by Dan Wolfe's Closure, Eastern Exposure, Flip-Sorry, Girl-Yeah Right, Baker and Deathwish [everything] Emerica-This Is Skateboarding, Stay Gold, Welcome to Hell, Jump off a Buiding, Mislead Youth, Thrill of it All. All the early PlanB, Hstreet, New Deal, even Santa Cruz's [Natas parts] Speed Freaks, Wheels of Fire. I'm even stoked on everything Pyramid does these days. Damn, too many to make a best 10.
The reason I think Questionable is superior with jaws hanging is because Hokus didn't have that one part that you could point out. It was just good overall whereas the Pat Duffy's part was something the likes of which nobody had ever seen. There never has been nor will there ever be another part that is so advanced over everything else. The only thing that could come close was Danny Way's mega ramp part but he was literally the only person skating it so of course it was more advanced than anybody else.
@@jasondashney Fair point. But then I'd argue that PD's part is the greatest (close second, Natas in Strees on Fire). If we're talking about the whole video... HP.
@@jdmresearch HP blew my mind when it came out. It didn't have a cast of already established monster names nor such a small team so it's not remembered as highly but in its day it was an absolute bombshell. Danny Way, Sal and Mike Carroll (and Matt Hensley who was the biggest name of them all before Plan B came out) were in both videos now that I think about it but they weren't yet what they would shortly become. Anyone I'm forgetting?
@@jasondashney I watched it about 200 times. Seriously. The first time we watched we couldn't believe it. Another thing was that there were no parts of individual skaters but sessions with many people skating together. Lots of fun. Other skaters: Colby Carter, Ron Allen, Tony Magnussen, Brian Lotti, Kien Lieu (Donger), John Reeves, Alfonzo Rawls... Those came to mind now, but I'm sure I'm forgetting other important names. Favorite part: Hensley et al night session with impressive jazz rock music including a virtuoso guitar solo (an unusual choice).
@@jdmresearch I have that soundtrack on lock. One note and it all comes flooding back. Could be the video that hits me in the feels the most. I need to watch it right through again soon. It's been many, many years. I didn't buy the soundtrack last year though.
This is a few for me. 1. DGK parental advisory 2. Plan b True 3. Pretty Sweet 4. Blueprint Skateboards First Broadcast (because it was my first skate video)
Great list Radrat, I personally would've added Baker 2G to the list b/c that was one of the first skate videos to showcase more gritty, yet also goofy aspects of skate culture and its surrounding aesthetic. But I can tell you're trying to feature skate videos that helped to push and evolve skateboarding tricks.
The Reason, The End, Sight Unseen, Video Days, Sick Boys, Photosynthesis, Chomp on This, Sorry, Welcome to Hell... There are just so many I like for totally different reasons.
Really appreciated this video it was so educational and cool im loving learning about skating (espcially of a different generation). Like so much stuff has been done already its crazy
if i could add a few honorable mentions from that era... Birdhouse's "The End" Toy Machine's "Welcome to Hell" Element's 1999 World Tour vid Adio's "One Step Beyond" :)
My top 10. 10. Flip - Really Sorry (Bastien Salabanzis part...whoa) 9. Zero - Dying to Live (Jamie Thomas's 360 flip hippie jump and introduced to Cobra plus the soundtrack) 8. Chocolate - The Hot Chocolate Tour 7. Zero - New Blood 6. Girl - Yeah Right 5. Toy Machine - Welcome to Hell 4. Fallen - Ride the Sky 3. Es - Menikmati 2. Element - Elementality 1. Almost - Round Three
@@VinceMarotte Thank you for giving me BBVS, that's my favorite one, and it's the first skate video I ever saw. I actually don't like Animal Chin that much either. I like the opener with Tommy from Future Primitive and the New York/Brooklyn Banks part. Have you ever seen Ban This? It's great as well. Powell has all their old videos on yt now.
I'm glad of the old school stuff that you included New Deal's 1281...but surprised not to see Blind's 'Video Days' make the list. It's a classic regardless of being from '91.
Excellent stuff rad rat those were the years so much fun seeing new stuff come out through the 90s then came along jamie thomas and welcome to hell beat us into oblivion
1. Heavy Metal 2.Welcome To hell 3. Misled Youth 4. Birdhouse-The End 4. Fulfil The Dream 5. Eastern Exposure: Underachievers That's all you need on a best skate video list. Or at least when I was growing up. LOL yeah im old-ish. Oh yes. 411 Vm #17 ( the first skate video I ever saw) Also 411 Vm #18 And 411 Vm #30 ( specifically the flip ams section)
Round Three was by far my favourite video because I saw it before I started skating and I saw Mullens part and thought to myself I wanna do that. Now I skate
just curious do you have a sk8 crew? For that matter any sk8 friends period? Reason I ask is because I'm from the same era as you and all of my sk8 crew is long been done with sk8ing and though I never plan on quitting myself I find it harder and harder to find motivation specially when it comes to going big and Being I never see anyone sk8 with you thought id ask what some of the things you do to stay motivated are
Nice list , I agree with a lot of them but I like seven steps to heaven by maple (ken lieus ollies were insane & Marc Johnson kills it) & fulfill the dream by Shorties ( smolik & muskas part & Brandon Turner sw hardflip).
Shackle me not set the standard for skate vids it criminal not to have it as no1. Also no useless wooden toys? The worlds introduction to Ed Templeton. I will excuse you as you say, you weren't around in that era, but those 2 videos changed skating forever and deserve massive props.
OaklynProduction- You couldn't be any more right! Video Days gave H-Street the middle finger as well as making a legit video with both street and vert... WITH STYLE!
I always remember back to when The End came out and thinking it was a complete game changer to the production of skate videos. Reynolds frontside flip gave me chills... So many great videos have been made but I also watched Welcome to Hell and Thrill of it All on a regular basis. Modus Operandi, the Big Brother vids... As a little kid, as cliche as it is to mention, Animal Chin was a pretty big deal as cheesy as it was... The video I watched over and over in the days when wheels were barely bigger than the bearings was called Eastern Exposure. Still love that vid, filmed mostly in Philly, Love Park, etc. and was the first time I saw Bam. He’s gotta be about 11 or 12, hangin with the big guys and shredding.
Baker 3 nough said
Seth Goodwin hands down
Seth Goodwin baker has a deathwish. From twuans 5 minute part and Greco fighting that guard, that video was the shit
the height of baker, those videos + Baker 2G and The Deathwish Summer tour video got me into skating
Baker 2G
Chillie
Aaron’s a freestyle guy so before you say about baker, flip, zero etc. Remember he’s probably gonna pick more tech skating videos.
Doesnt change the fact that Baker 3 is the best skate tape of all time.

All the early PlanB, Hstreet, New Deal, even Santa Cruz's [Natas parts] Speed Freaks, Wheels of Fire. I'm even stoked on everything Pyramid does these days. Damn, too many to make a best 10.
I've to say, Hokus Pokus was the one video that left everybody with their jaws hanging. Questionable too, but HP really was the most radical of all.
1. DGK parental advisory
2. Plan b True
3. Pretty Sweet
4. Blueprint Skateboards First Broadcast (because it was my first skate video)
Skateboarding DEFINITELY has to do with talent and if you have anything negative to say about Rodney Mullen your not a real skater.....
Nice to see New Deal make a spot on the list! Awesome work Julio!
There are just so many I like for totally different reasons.
digiprez77 amen
Really appreciated this video it was so educational and cool im loving learning about skating (espcially of a different generation). Like so much stuff has been done already its crazy

100% agree with Questionable.
Missing maybe:
Welcome to Hell
Future Primitive (First proper street vid ever)
Thrill Of It All
Oh come on, Bones Brigade Video Show, Animal Chin and Ban This are all better than Future Primitive.
@@benitofranklyn4237 BBVS I'll give you but even the Bones Brigade will tell you Animal Chin was bad.
I had globe opinion on vcr as a child and watched it almost every day along with my few 411 tapes.
I'm glad of the old school stuff that you included New Deal's 1281...but surprised not to see Blind's 'Video Days' make the list. It's a classic regardless of being from '91.
Shortys Guilty ?
Excellent stuff rad rat those were the years so much fun seeing new stuff come out through the 90s then came along jamie thomas and welcome to hell beat us into oblivion
Lol, I was like, I can’t believe he hasn’t picked any of the plan B videos and then you pick the best one for number 1! Good man
Just love your videos man.
I miss the Coliseum skateshop! I used to go there all the time when I was growing up, and looked up to some of those guys in PJ Ladd's WHL!
No skate video was more influential from my generation than Baker 3. You should really give it the respect.
Stay gold emerica Num 1 fool
Dude this list is crazy, 3 that should have easily been on here is Misled Youth, Baker 3, and This Is Skateboarding. And even Dying To live
1. Heavy Metal
2.Welcome To hell
3. Misled Youth
4. Birdhouse-The End
4. Fulfil The Dream
5. Eastern Exposure: Underachievers
That's all you need on a best skate video list.
Or at least when I was growing up. LOL yeah im old-ish.
Oh yes. 411 Vm #17 ( the first skate video I ever saw)
Also 411 Vm #18
And 411 Vm #30 ( specifically the flip ams section)
I've seen like all of these over the years lol. Wonderful Horrible Life is my favorite video of all time glad it at least made your mentions list
DC video (2003), baker 3, baker has a deathwish, midfield, animal chin, ride the sky, fully flared, extremely sorry, cow, chicken bone nowison.
skin19head69 fr fuck all this other shit
I'm with ya on Ride the Sky
Baker 2g over any other baker video for having a big impact
i might swap one of those with thrill of it all or mouse
skin19head69 , we're all entitled, Sir.... But the DC Video!!!👌✌
All those Black Label Videos kick ass. Such a motivation for skating instantly and that music anyway.
From more recent years I really really enjoyed LRG's 1947 and Vans Propeller. Chima Ferguson's part in Propeller was amazing.
Damn I had the Koston fully flared shoes when I was a teenager. Same design as the logo. That image just brought me back!
Round Three was by far my favourite video because I saw it before I started skating and I saw Mullens part and thought to myself I wanna do that. Now I skate
Great picks!
Best skate videos from the 2010’s
1. Holy Stokes (Volcom)
2. Pretty Sweet (Girl/Choclate)
3. True (Plan B)
4. Propeller (Vans)
5. Bake and Destroy (BAKER)
6. The Deathwish video
7. Pain is beautiful (Primitive)
8. Cherry (supreme)
9. Every bronze 56k edit
10. Palasonic (Palace)
I learned a lot from 1281...caspers, late kickflips and late shove-its. I could do most of the tricks chris fissel did in the video
Danny Way's part in Questionable is definitely worthy of a mention!
The DC Video is my all-time favourite, great list though
just curious do you have a sk8 crew? For that matter any sk8 friends period? Reason I ask is because I'm from the same era as you and all of my sk8 crew is long been done with sk8ing and though I never plan on quitting myself I find it harder and harder to find motivation specially when it comes to going big and Being I never see anyone sk8 with you thought id ask what some of the things you do to stay motivated are
so long as my fav part is on here i'm ok with the list.
and it was.
so good on ya m8
lol
Nice list , I agree with a lot of them but I like seven steps to heaven by maple (ken lieus ollies were insane & Marc Johnson kills it) & fulfill the dream by Shorties ( smolik & muskas part & Brandon Turner sw hardflip).
Shackle me not set the standard for skate vids it criminal not to have it as no1. Also no useless wooden toys? The worlds introduction to Ed Templeton. I will excuse you as you say, you weren't around in that era, but those 2 videos changed skating forever and deserve massive props.
1. Shorties Fulfill the dream
2. Birdhouse The End
3. Birdhouse Ravers
4-10. Any Plan B, Flip or Girl videos
No Video Days?
No Flip Sorry?
No Baker2G
No The End?
No Misled Youth?
No Welcome To Hell?
Why not just name it My top 10 list
Blind Video Days, the best skateboard video ever made, is not on your list. There is something very wrong with that.
Learn your history.
OaklynProduction too true if I had to choose one it's video days although I think welcome to hell was the craziest
Great list.
I would have loved to see dvs skate more somewhere in the mix though :)
