My grandmother always had a pot of beans on the stove also. During the hard times she said no one had much but you always share what you had. Later in life she still kept beans on the stove because if anyone dropped by you should always have food to offer them. Many of her family would stop by just to have her beans they said she fixed the best She also had potatoes with fried onions in them cornbread and in summer fried green tomatoes. A meal fit for a king. I miss her so much.

I pretty much use everything u use n them, except the ground beef & the taco seasoning packet. But I may try the taco packet next time. I wanted 2 tell u that I did make the Thumbprint Cookies that u did a few days ago. They came out just perfect. I wish I knew how 2 post a pic 2 my message, 2 show u. Mine were a little bigger than yours so didn't make quite as many as yours. I put strawberry jam n the indention & it cooked beautifully! I used salted butter, but still added a little dash of salt since u stressed that yours could have used a little salt. I did not glaze them because hubs & I thought they were sweet enough. They were kinda buttery, like a butter cookie. I was very pleased & thank u for sharing the recipe! Hate i didn't have them during the holidays. They would have been pretty on a Christmas table. I love all kinds of Beans Talli Faye , and your Fiesta pot of beans looks delicious !! Talli Faye i don’t know if you know the the old way to quick cook your beans or not but if not i’ll tell you how my momma taught me and it works great !! you wash snd look your beans and put them in a large pot , cover with about 3-4 inches of water over beans and add 1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda and stir it in and bring pot to a boil and let boil about 5 minutes , turn off snd cover with lid , let sit 1 hour , rinse beans well , put back in pot cover with water or broth and bring to boil , season and add meat and any additional seasonings like your peppers and tomatoes and let boil about 30 minutes , turn down to low snd let cook until tender usually about another 30 minutes , add water as needed , your pot licker will be rich and delicious ! Just boil out however much extra liquid you want to !! Stir every few minutes as you usually would !! It's Debbie n Pasadena.
The beans look great. We love pintos @ my house. I usually call them Barrocho Beans because I put abt 1/2 can of beer n them.
Ok, sorry so long lol!
All the best!!
Yes!.. That’s what Buzz and I said!.. They absolutely taste like a butter cookie!!… I’m glad you adjusted the salt to the recipe 😊♥️😍

Thanks for sharing your recipe , i love beans of all kinds and the are very good for us !! ❤️🙏🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈

Ok Ms Talli Faye!!! After rewatching your video 2 more times, I couldn't take it anymore!!!! Even though I'm going out of town tomorrow for several days, I HAVE TO FIX THESE BEANS!!! So, I'm gonna fix a half recipe for supper this evening!!! Got my Bilateral Diagnostic Mammo and Ultrasound this morning and gonna stop by the store on my way home to try and get some of the whole green chilis. I have everything else already (I have green chilis, but they're diced and I want whole ones like you used). You are such a joy to watch and listen to and I honestly think that you would be a blast to hang out with!!!
lol 😂 Well I hope you enjoy them!
You take care of yourself 🙏🏻♥️

I just had to tell you I made a version of your fiesta beans last night with what I had available. I used light red kidney beans, a pound of Jenny-O taco meat made from turkey and pretty much everything you used except no beef bouillon. I had a big soup mug & homemade cornbread for lunch.! Thank you Talli because this meal posted at just the right time with this cold weather. ❤
I think I might have to move to Iola, Texas. 😉😋😁
