Who are these meant for? The prices are astronomical when you add up how many sets you would actually need for a small useful collection. There's no way they are meant for the average gamer lol. Very nice but you could go on a small vacation for the price of a useful collection. Any plans to reduce the cost to an affordable level for the average player?
No bro this shits always been expensive and they’ll never lower their prices or have a sale. Best thing to do is spend $100-$200 on some pieces to make different scenarios and collect more pieces over the years. If you want a cheaper alternative you can always buy Warlock tiles.
I recommend browsing them for scatter terrain first. Trees, rock outcroppings, plants, platforms, stairs, ruins, cells, statues and such can be added to any dry erase battle mat, foldable full color paper maps, themed neoprene mats, spiral bound flip books...
Given how durable this stuff is, I'm getting the enjoyment value of many many vacations out of mine. Gonna have to account for this stuff in my will; it'll outlast me. They had a great short recently with "packing" the display after a convention... 😁 Start small with scatter, as @powerswab5000 said, and grow your collection over time to suit the environments you have encounters in most often. The cheapest way to buy is during the Kickstarter campaigns when it's about 10% off from store prices and there are other little perks (like the treasure chests in Lowtown most recently).
Wildlands are the most amazing and useful pieces DF has made (so far). Cannot go wrong with ANY of them!
