Yes, Thailand's choice was the Oplot, and I believe 49 were delivered but the order couldn't be complete because of Russian/Separatist problems in Ukraine. To me the Oplot looked to be a very effective tank, a cross between Soviet and NATO tank designs. The VT-4 looks good, but I don't know much about it. I would love to talk to A Thai who actually used both platforms and to see what one he preferred and why. I just know I have heard good things about the Oplot.
There is such a thing called warranty. So no need to worry if tank breakdown. The cost of the purchase includes servicing, repair, future upgrades and etc. Good value for money. No point spend huge amount of money to buy more expensive tanks such as the the more advance version German Leopard 2 or Merkava because quite frankly speaking the chances of actually using it is quiet slim unless a full scale war break out. Such hardware is more for standby and self assurance. Consider US and Russia 6 to 7 thousands stockpile of nuclear warheads. Anyone of these two dare to use it on each other or on their allies? .
Thailand plays a bigger role than many people know. They send a lot of soldiers on UN missions and a comrade encountered some Thai soldiers in Iraq in 2004. They need good equipment on missions.

T84还是不错的，着2辆车其实差不多，84可能更实惠点，毕竟是80改出来的。只不过有鉴于当前乌东局势，估计84很难拿到货了，事实上乌克兰军队自己都缺少坦克
de bu 如果对比一下细节和内部图，就会发现t84造工太糙，内部布线也乱，毕竟是改装的不如重新设计，信息集成程度值得怀疑，传动系统，看看驾驶舱、看看方向盘，简直一个天一个地，这可不是差不多
