When you joined two wires from the two pholders, the connection made is not clear. Phase and neutral connections are confusing. Can you explain clearly?
One of the two cut wires is connected to neutral terminal. That means the wires you joined are phase connection. Then you connected last wire to the socket to make series connection. Is this not neutral? This is confusing. Please clarify and reply as this confusion is not clear for a long time in spite repeated watching the video.
