- Continuing the series on 1979 in Ghana, I speak to Tommy Annan Forson, a legendary broadcaster who experienced the events of 1979 and also witnessed the execution of some Military Generals.
You represent my era, the Ghana that I grew up in. North Labone and all that. Well captured. We loved life!
The real Dadabees of old . Having a swimming pool in your house in the 1960s , 1970s is wild !
An amazing interview 👏🏾
I really enjoyed this interview.
Great interview - I remember Tommy and he is legendary!! We need these Legends to train current generations of news anchors!😊
Amazing how resilient he is, having been subjected to such traumatic events. Definitely livimg with PTSD but he has obviously learnt to cope, using innate & various skills as well as having a very supportive family network. Hmmmm... it's interesting how we continue to hero worship ppl we knew, despite their shortcomings.🤔 Hopefully those painful experiences shall never happen again. Brilliant interview, as usual, Kafui❤
The Seniors military Officer's slaughtered by JJ Rawlings wasn't given a fair Court hearing
Those Officer's were wasted for no reasons
The Same thing that wicked jj Rawlings accused them of he end up doing worse than them
He became rich and lived a full life....his children's are now living in paradise while those military officers children's grow up without their father its a nightmare for them
Used to hear his voice on radio daily, when only the state was allowed to have a voice in Ghana: GBC2!
Very dark day in Ghana 🇬🇭 June 4 1979
Jim Amekporfor was a very fine broadcaster
Nice insight into history from this great man. A little more probe to his entertainment days too would have made a lighter note thou. His standup comedy and also his TV show on GBC the f and f show. In summary another great interview Kafui whom I have been listening to since Kapital Radio days ❤
Great interview..👌
Greatt interview Kafui, keep it up and All The Best to TAF
Great interview Kafui
Good to see you Tommy in very good health/spirit. I hope GBC will replay your program, philharmonic pearls, you got me hooked🥰
I can’t imagine living at that time
Jj was a psychopath
Whatever no one buys that nonsense anymore! We have all learnt the truth now
@@adimartei1694 yeah
We know he’s a psychopath now.
Nice
Great interview. Kafui, can book an interview with Captain Partinton
I really enjoyed the interview ,Kafui, please can you interview Captain Budu koomson
We lived at 220 North Labone Est. Opposite Major Awhaitey, next to the sub station. Charlotte Dada was our neighbour. I hope you recall the park where we all learnt to ride our bikes. Great memories!
Kafui, you should try and interview Captain Ebenezer Koomson as well he will give good insights. He was the officer who drove Generals Acheampong and Utuka to the shooting range and the one who covered their heads with the hoods.
I lost all the respect I had for Captain Koomson. The day he said Acheampong was the one who helped him to get admission to the military academy, and yet he was one who drove him to his death. What a coward!.😢😢😢😢
@@agoogo5026 there was nothing he could’ve done. He didn’t authorize for them to be executed, even Captain Koomson himself his life was in danger
I grew throughout that Period, I was 14 years old, Saw a lot of him.
I never knew this guy. He’s such a cool guy. I like you man.
Every episode reveals something new about 1979, Too many atrocities happened.
PTSD
great interview as always
It was Afrifa who lifted his head
Also in Ghana at that time in secondary school.Afrifa was the one who was shot several times.
