    Your presentation was so nice..One small clarification I'll give for the viewers those who got confused. At 22:01 it was mispelled that " as width increases".. Actually alpha1 increases as width decreases because of increase in gate current..

    • @santhoshKumar-nw2om
      @santhoshKumar-nw2om ปีที่แล้ว

      He told previously that alpha is inversely proportional to base width. But as gate current increases depletion region width should decrease and base width should increase and then alpha should decrease. But he is saying alpha increases how?

    • @santhoshKumar-nw2om
      @santhoshKumar-nw2om ปีที่แล้ว

      So first we have to get clarification that alpha is directly proportional to base width or inversely proportional to base width? If u observe the video clearly he first told apha is directly proportional to base width and then he striken that and said alpha is inversily proportional to base width

      Explanation from the instructor was very confusing. When positive gate pulse is applied then junction J2 will be forward bias i.e. depletion width across J2 decrease and most of the majority carriers can flow due to forward biasing which result in increase in alpha.

    Sir if we increase gate current...I think the depletion region at J2 should decrease(as to trigger the scr, we are applying positive gate pulse, so it reduces voltage drop at J2 and depletion region decreases) as depletion region is less at j2, penetration of depletion region into base also not high..then how width of base decreases🙄

    Width of depletion layer is directly proportional to alpha or inversely proportional?

    There is confusion between depletion layer and width. Are you talking about region width which is apart from depletion layer.As I know if depletion layer increase width of region will decrease and vice-versa.

    When we increasing gate current depletion layer is decreasing that's mean width of base is increasing so, alpha is decreasing. Sir how it possible alpha is increasing with increase of gate current? Please help me to clear this doubt sir.

  • @kumarraj731
    @kumarraj731 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Excellent,but sir I can't understand y the values of alpha are increasing with the decrease of base width
    Decreasing of base width=increasing in deplesion region
    Is that right?

    • @kumarraj731
      @kumarraj731 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What is the difference between junction width and deplesion region width?both are not same?mm

    • @EngineeringFunda

      +Kumar Raj : decrease in base width will result into decrease in deplition region

    If gate pulse (current) given scr is on
    If input voltage exceeds the breakdown voltage than scr on
    I don't know how scr is on if anode current is increasing
    Please answer to my question

  • @ultranewbie
    @ultranewbie 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    hello sir,
    if we are increasing the Ig (gate current) , don't you think that will increase the recombination and decrease the depletion region and decrease the Alpha ?
    thanks for the help

    • @EngineeringFunda
      @EngineeringFunda  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope

    • @sampurnoghoshal20
      @sampurnoghoshal20 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If depletion region decreases then more current will move from emitter to collector so, Ic/Ie will increase and alpha will increase
