Another great video Paul. It's a shame that the Hall was knocked down. It was nice to see some drone footage to see the scale of the place and pictures of what it was like. Great images as usual mate. Take care and look after yourself.
Fabulous! I was there today but unfortunately there are repairs being made to the ruins so it was all fenced off and I couldn’t walk around like you did. Fascinating place to visit. Such a shame it no longer stands in its splendour.
Really enjoy your jaunts to all these ruins and telling a bit about them, love history and imagining what life was like for the people living there. Thanks for taking us along for the journey
One of my local spots. You can overnight at Pom’s chair and occasionally you get an amazing cloud inversion and the view stretches out across the Cheshire plain one way with hills of the Peak District the other way. Last summer boating had to stop on the Errwood as the water level was 20 ft below the jetty . The flow from the Errwood had to be diverted in 2019 because of the collapsing dam at Toddbrook when Whaley bridge was evacuated whilst the army tried to plug the hole and divert it.
@@paulcomptonpdphotography sorry Paul it should have said Pym s chair. As you head from Errwood on the road go towards to dam but don’t turn off go to the top of the hill when you get to the top turn right and you will see the parking area. If you get an inversion it goes for miles. I’m glad you did Errwood I’ve never got a great shot there. Sadly I can’t walk that far anymore but nice to see how you shot it
Thank you Paul. Love the vlog and moody photos. With the history of Errwood Hall, I love the scenery soo much. Thank you for taking me with you on this adventure!
We used to live the other side of the hill. We used to be able to walk along the old railway line and through the tunnel and down the incline. The reservoir was built in the early sixties. It overflows into the Goyt Reservoir which is more or less the start of the Mersey
I remember doing a walk at that location back in my hiking days some 15 years ago. The old photos you showed of the hall really demonstrate that it was indeed a grand building back in the day. I also did several other walks in the area at Teggs Nose, Shining Torr, Three Shires Head and Shutlingsloe and if you haven't been to those locations it might be worth a look Paul for possible photographic opportunities. Another excellent vlog mate📷👏👏
