On the last tip, you cannot (rather, should not) use the order property on tabable content, as the focus will jump around according to the order of the elements in the DOM; this can be annoying to keyboard (or other non-mouse) users.
I wish the magicians that build browsers could make it so that the tab order can be calculated by the flex/grid order property in CSS.
