Its 99 miles to LA from Camp Pendelton Marine Base and when this song came out I remembered the trip to LA to pick up My girlfriend then now MY Wife of 65 years. the song hits the spot
Lovely memory. I was stationed at CamPen in the early 80s and loved hearing it when driving down the freeway to San Diego. Sadly my marriage ended after 9 years, but I still have my song and my memories and it's all good :)
