The best thing about being my age (74) was the time when I was young and got to hear some of the greatest music of all time. I was fortunate enough to hear BS&T twice; once at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco when they played with the original lineup, and I shared a cigarette with Dick Halligan (R.I.P.), and then again at the Carousel Ballroom in S.F. in 1968. Wow! The sound they produced was mind blowing! Still a big fan of their first album, but enjoyed so many songs from the subsequent albums. Of course the classics from that first album “I Can’t Quit Her,” “Something Going On,” and “More Than You’ll Ever Know.” But I still find myself humming a lot of their later tunes also, such as “Love Looks Food On You,” (why wasn’t that a hit?! It’s sweet, fun, and I love the arrangement), “Rosemary (Won’t You Come Out Tonight,” and more. My husband rarely steps out of the shower without hearing me break into a verse or two of “Beware, Beware, Beware of the Naked Man!” I remember the flak the band took regarding their State Department tour, and also how they were seen by many young people in the counter culture as “sell outs” when they did their Vegas gigs. But, honestly, a Vegas gig must have been like a vacation compared to all the touring they had to do. I am really looking forward to seeing this documentary. No doubt it will bring back many memories, both good and bad, of a politically charged time (sound familiar?!) when the music was amazing. Thank you for this interview.

I am looking forward to this film, as a huge fan, but isn't this one incident in the history of the band?
They went on for several more albums ,with and without DCT, and several big records-Lucretia, Go Down Gamblin',-lesser ones like Lisa Listen to Me.
One drum corps did a version of Cowboys and Indians on their field show!
