I'd say 8. Pretty damn interesting compared to the other live action movies. Though I wish we would've seen more dialogue between Cheetor and Rhinox, and a possible additional character from Unicron to show that he is relentless in his conquest even when he's trapped (perhaps Galvatron)
Amazing to see how relentless Scourge was in the entire movie. He knows very well that the second he fails and he lives through it, his limbs will be ripped apart slowly and painfully. That's the real motivation of a villain. Well written and well executed
The off center zoom in on his profile in the woods is cinematically genius because it makes him look very intimidating and demonic. Plus the robotic voice on top of it. Watching this movie in theaters just hits right.
I disagree with the title. Scourge is more of the Witch King himself, with Unicron as Sauron. And honestly probably a more effective villain, Scourge was ruthlessly efficient while the Witch King was more just a terrifying presence. Case in point: Scourge actually defeats the good guys and KILLS a major character in the process (even if both were temporary). We don't see this with the Witch King because either they run or when they clash, the heavy lifters of the party like Aragorn and Gandalf can fend them off.

Would say Unicron is more of Morgorth a Primordial dark God even more powerful than Sauron like the Mortal Kombat Primordial God Titan The One Being. You could say Scourge is the Ring Wraith Leader Witch King but the Witch King died after his master Sauron Died. Scourge died but not with Unicron just Nightbird plus Battletrap. So you could say he's like Saruman from the Lord of the Rings movies.
He would equate more to the Witch-King of Angmar, considering Scourge is the 1st officer of Unicron. He is more or less just an extension of Unicron's influence and power. Just like how the Witch King is more or less just an extension of Sauron's will.

huh, I find ironic how the Transformers movies that aren't rated as highly as TF '07, DOTM, and even Bumblebee have possibly the best villains in the movies, like look at The Fallen, Lockdown, Scourge. All well written, menacing, and at least to some extent, depending on the villain, dangerous. (And no, TLK doesn't count in the "Good Villain but not so good movie" Club.)
Optimus also had visible truck parts like his pipes on Cybertron and even after taking the form of an earth truck, he stayed the same, it's just his cybertronian vehicle probably. Also I've heard this scene was done only a few months before the film's release so they didn't have enough time to make a new 3D model for Scourge.

I like to imagine it as his spark chamber but without a spark. Scourge's life is tied with unicron so he cannot die. So I can imagine this menace coming back from the dead.

scourge couldve gotten a proper story, instead all we got was fight scenes and the looking for a key and human chasing bs, wasted a good chunk of screen time for something that doesn't even matter
I dont know, in my opinion Lockdown gives Scourge a run for his money, and so would a fully healthy Sentinel Prime. And the version of Optimus Prime in the forrest fighting Megatron, Starscream & Grindor also would easily devour Scourge 1 on 1
