    Glad to see it still being used, some claim That they use things for 2 years when the reality is they just got it off of the boat and unboxed before filming the video.

    Greetings Paul, Shawn Kelly recommended your channel. Nice pack, it was worth the trip.

    I didn't realize that this is a 30 liter pack. I've been planning to get a Savotta Jakaari M as a larger upgrade to my FILBE assault pack but the Jakaari M is billed as 30 liter also. So maybe I'll get the large Jakaari.
    I'm going dirt biking in the mountains east of San Diego this weekend and I wear my FILBE assault pack on the bike. The water bladder works great when riding. It also easily holds my snacks, first aid kit, basic land nav kit, GMRS radio, a pair of sneakers in case I end up hiking out and don't want to hike out in dirt bike boots.
    My FILBE pack has served me well for about 5 years. And I got it used. It has
    also survived several good spills off the bike in the desert. And it's in great condition. I put the admin pouch on mine also.
    I think I either added or upgraded the waist belt on my FILBE assault pack. But I don't remember what stock was so I don't remember how I modded it.

    I put my folding mat vertically on my pack to snap less on brush. Bottom lands trails are narrow in most places.

      I've seen it run like that before. I just do this because it's easier with the tripod on the side vs the bottom for me.

    This is a great pack if you can find one that still has some love left in it.

    I have a Chinese 600d nylon pack that's been dragged through bushes every week for 3 years nothing has ripped or broke, some people could look at a diamond and break it like my 2 year old 😂

    That pack locks great. I love my 5.11 gear, i have the rush 12, 24 and 72. What i ist the most is the 12, perfect size for me. I only addes two pouches an the sides, both tasmanian tiger tac pouches nr 7 and a foxhound patch. I dont like to put gear on the outside of my pack, it flaps around, makes noise and everybody sees what i have. Especially a knife should be on your belt, not you pack. One exeption, my axe, it just dosent have room enough in the pack.
    On short tours i prefer my tasmanian tiger essentials pack mk 1 and 2. Nothing added. Yeah, 6 or 9 litres are not much and you really have to think about, what you want in these bags.
    In comperision, 5.11 seems a bit studiert, tt a bit lighter, both never failed me. You can combine pieces of both of those companies without problems. The molle fits and the colours have only minor differences. I mean, black is just black, khaki is khaki and so on, but i havent checked all their colours.
    Sorry bout my english, greetings from Germany, Phil
    P.s. i left you a like and subscribe. Nice Channel so far. Keep up that good work.

    Hey Paul great to see another video from you I always enjoy your thoughts on gear I think the packs great but its hard for me to find one our army surplus store is awful the think every thing is worth twice or three times as much they want $150.00 for ones that are all used up but I am on the look out for one another question for you I am also looking for a used Jon pack that self reliance used to sell I know your not in that group anymore but thought you might know someone that has one thank again Paul for all your videos

    • @adaptablesurvival
      @adaptablesurvival  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @mtwoodsmen4563 yeah, it can be a struggle to find these in very good condition. It took me a minute when I first found this one. As for the Jon Pack, I literally just sold one in the last couple of weeks. They are very hard to find. You could try contacting Jay Hercules, as I believe he owns the rights to that design now.

    Some folks trailblaze or off trail hike or deep bush hike the environment beats the crap out of their bags it doesn't help when people try to over stuff their bags till their bursting at the seams that causes excessive wearing.

    • @adaptablesurvival
      @adaptablesurvival  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @mariotibbrine1 I do plenty of off trail hiking. It's all about navigating properly through the terrain. I'd rather take an easier path around then try and break brush... trust me, I've been there, lol.
      I would agree. People seem so hung up on overstuffing a pack, when in reality, if you need more, then carry a larger pack.

    Hello, do you still use the Pathfinder Scout pack, was thinking of ordering one while they are on special. Or is there a better pack you would recommend for short hikes and just overnight or a couple days at most. Light use as only go that style of camping a couple to half dozen times a year at best, but still want something that can handle a bit knocking about.

    • @adaptablesurvival
      @adaptablesurvival  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @craigshugg2332 I would look for something alrind 35-40 liters. It's big for a day hike, but it allows you to easily do up to 2 nights out of it in warmer months. I would look at something from Mystery Ranch or a company focused on backpacking. While the Scout works, it's designed off the Savotta military pack. So you won't have any kind of adjust or load lifters, not that you typically load out a day pack that heavy.
