  • A winter storm produced heavy snowfall across parts of central New York from January 6 to 7, 2024. Snowfall amounts ranged from 5 to 10 inches across parts of Tioga and Broome counties in New York.
The following time-lapse was taken using two raspberry pi zero w with version 2.1 cameras. The last part was using a Campark T180/TC08 trail camera in time-lapse mode.
Notables: Snow-laden branches droop, springing back as snow falls off the branches. Squirrels. Bands of snow moving across the area cause the snow accumulation to rise, stop and rise again.

Our snow started tonight and Tuesday the snow to continue. I enjoy seeing your stoic toys braving the elements and the tree limbs bowing down weighted with snow. We are going to have gusty winds which might make lots of deep drifts. Shovel waiting inside if the door isn't blocked by snow drifts.
