God used you guys so greatly to help people like me. You were all part of God's plan. Many times in life your music helped guide me through personal trials and continues to even now. Thank you so much for all you have done. Sincerely.
Thank you Jesus for men like these who love you and evangelize the whole world with your living and powerful Word. A word of encouragement brothers! How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news... Love you all John/Petra. Forever my favorite.
Petra is such a great band.... Like John Schlitt said. It was the ministry that was the most important part. Doing the work of Jesus. It is good to see both John Schlitt and Greg X. Volz in the the same room.
John is so right ,I played in bars and clubs for years, made a record ,(ATOM3 - Energy) had a little success ,got right with God, started playing in a Christian Rock band Chisseled, It was the most rewarding and coolest thing to see people's lives changed, and got to have a part in it.
Helped promote them and worked as counselor and followup for concerts in fort Myers fl. They were for real and lots of kids were saved. Now my 17 year old loves them and playing some of their songs. God bless you guys!
I know Greg sang with the "E" in 1971-72 when I first saw them. I met Greg later in 1978 or so at a place called Camp Dominion in Minnesota. Unforgettable voice with that man. I have an early album with the "E" contributing several songs. The double album is called "Because I Am".
If not for Petra I would probably not have continued in the faith. Music was always a big thing for me and I liked rock. I was blown away when I heard Not of This World. I could not believe that there was Christian music for me. It helped me to get grounded in the faith.
So interesting. Been loyal since Petra was a warm up band to Servant. just stumbled across this channel. sooo interesting... I'm still singing the music! Rock on!
Great band . It’s like this is the reason the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth brought you all into the world. Lord bless you all always and forever. John 3:16.
Who is who? This interview would be much more interesting if the people were identified. It would also be interesting to know what their invitations consisted of, and how many of those people were genuine converts. If anyone has any information on the band, please post URL, etc.
Does anybody know, wasn't the Petra group once known as the group "E"? Thank you for your responses. Please provide as comprehensive information as you have, relative to this question.
and The Holy Spirit added to The Church Daily...this is after the Baptism in The Holy Spirit fell upon the 12 after they were in the upper room. One Lord, One Baptism, and One Faith. As soon as you hear Paul (the beetles) McCarty, RUN!!! It is unfortunate there isn't enough discernment and Wisdom among believers nowadays. Just look at The Word. Satan came to Jesus in the desert...for a season.

Grave robber is one of my fav song from Petra.
Fantastic song w/an old western feel. Also love "In the Likeness of You", "More Power To Ya'", and "Beat The System".
It's hard to pick just ONE favorite Petra song, (I've heard them all.) but if you put a gun to my head, I might just pick "Grave Robber."

Hey....I have the same birthday as John Schlitt ! Probably around the same year too.....1961.........
Like me, you probably think of Greg and what he looked like back in the day. :)

Not true...Greg is in the center of this video.
Which guy is Greg X?
Greg X volz is the gentleman in the center! I really wish Louis Weaver and Bob Hartman had been in this video as well!
??He is in the middle.
He can't be 60 yrs old here .. he's 70 now .. 🤔...hmmm ..he could be and if so wow..
Anybody have a problem leaving a comment
This is misleading. Greg Volz is not in this clip.
preitauerful He’s in the middle.
You should have known who Nancy Honeytree is because she was from Fort Wayne and she was seeing around Fort Wayne around the same time Petra was
