I volunteered to teach this project as a class at the children’s museum in my home town. The students were around 5th grade level. They were really engaged with the project and they each accomplished a lot with it. Thanks for the inspiration!

You continue to amaze me the king of random, I built this and showed my friends it and they could not find out how to get it unlocked and when I showed how to do it they wanted to know who was the person that originally built it and I showed them it and they now love all of your vids and aspire to be you some day
If you like saving time you can buy a factory made puzzle box that's very very similar online for about $3 or so. I know this cause my uncle got me one for Christmas a few years ago and I'm into puzzles and have been seeing these being sold all over the internet very cheaply.
If the tools aren't super accessible to you, I'd say that you can make a 1/2 size one using quart-size paint sticks. They have dimensions 6 inches long by 1/2 inch wide by 1/16 in thick.
Little tip for your belt sander, when using it make sure the wood is moving left and right on the belt, this is so you can make the sand paper last longer and there is not spots where the sand paper/belt has wore down (by moving the wood left and right it will wear down the belt equally instead of having rough spots)

putliquid proto-putty in a vacuum chamber and take it out once it has hardened (im guessing the shape will be quite anormal)

What about putting a smoke grenade in vacuum chamber?

Since you need oxygen to keep the fire going it wont work in a vaccum chamber that takes away oxygen
