My loved one leaves the suburbs to do drugs in Kensington cause you “can do ANYTHING you want in Kensington and not get arrested”. My loved one says he has seen a mom addict bring her baby to a drug deal. There are landlords who rent out floor space in apartments in Kensington for addicts to sleep and use the bathroom / I’m sure illegally. I have written my appeals to the three musketeers (Krastner and Kenny and Outlaw) for allowing this - it’s inhumane and insidious. What they allow in the city affects more than those who live in the city. I feel very sorry for the good citizens of Kensington. The children suffer.the most

What's crazy is really they aren't wrong man.. It's not on the lower level police officers to arrest all those people if they are being told by their superiors to turn the other way and leave all the dealers and addicts alone. Seriously... Their bosses are probably threatening them with suspension or demotion or getting fired if they arrest everyone for the effed up things the addicts and dealers are doing, you know? Which is CRAZY you're right, but it is in the hands of the people telling them to turn around and walk away. Like city council, city hall, the police chiefs. It's an insane situation to see all that happening next to a freaking school and public transit!

A killing jar (or killing bottle) is a device used by entomologists to kill captured insects quickly and with minimum damage.[1] The jar, typically glass, must be hermetically sealable and one design has a thin layer of hardened plaster of Paris on the bottom to absorb the killing agent. The killing agent will then slowly evaporate, allowing the jar to be used many times before needing to refresh the jar. Kensington ladies and gentlemen is a killing jar. Upper class law makers and citizens have contempt for poor people, thus they create the conditions that reduce their population so that they do not infest their beautiful, wealthy neighborhoods.

IN a lot of ways I support the police but lately they seem really fucking lazy. They sit in their vehicles the entire shift. And that has to stop at some point. They have to do something. And maybe even show a little more respect to people that have to deal with this crap day in and day out. I am sure the Walgreens probably is about 6 months away from closing that location just on safety concerns alone. I think bottom line they hate the neighborhood, they really don't care if people drop dead ten feet away. They don't care that people are trying to make a living at the businesses that are located there.

There is a plan in 2032 to take the Kensington neighborhood and turn it into a poshy, revitalized neighborhood. Ritzy area so to speak. So what do you do to scoop up all the land in that area? Simple, raise the crime rate so that the people living there have to sell because they don't want their kids to see that kind of stuff. We all know that crime and drugs go hand and hand. Crime and drugs also drops home values ALOT. So when the city comes and takes these properties, they have to give fair market value. Well, fair market value of nothing is, well, nothing. Drive the crime rate up, drive property values down. This is not the first time cities have done this. New York city did it with one of the worst hoods to emerge from the crack epidemic. They used to say this neighborhood was so bad that the cops never went there. It wasn't because the police were afraid to go into this neighborhood, it was that they were told not to go into that neighborhood. Eminent domain is a problem when the cities start using it to scoop up entire neighborhoods so they can make the city slot of money.

I grew up spending many weekends at Horn & Hardarts and seeing movies at the Midway theater that was torn down for a Burger King. The Midway was a dual purpose theater than showed movies and also had stage plays. Where Walgreens is now there was a Art Deco high rise tower that had offices for white collar professionals.
Kensington Ave was a fantastic shopping district when I was kid, and especially at Christmas where the entire Ave was decorated.
All of these iconic historic buildings were torn down by the corrupt greedy politicians (all democrats) and the developers who own them.

Judging by my suggestions feed now, the amount of videos and channels I watch based on the area makes it look like we're in a major tourist destination. So, that's #1, number 2 is it's there because it's not in Center City in front of real tourist. Out of sight out of mind. Since when is this new? That's always been their priority. It just so happened to be in your area instead of the others this time. I remember when crime went up in my precinct, but it wasn't center city so the mayor said it was a win during that term. We were sacrificed. Anyway, I'm glad Philadelphia Police still seem normal and well spoken. I liked those guys. I don't see cops like this in quite a few places. Also I love that they still have real badges and not a sewn on patch, but that's another topic.

This is exactly how society collapses. Law enforcement passing the buck, stating City Council instruction is more important than the actual law. The law being applied differently based upon where you live. Poor people not meriting the same service from police than those who are better off.

Philly Captain please STOP bustin' the cops nuts for NOT intervening. Over and over again - on your many other videos like THIS one - you've been TOLD that they do NOT have the authority to arrest the drug users/addicts. Please follow their suggestions and GO to the city counsel meetings, and show them YOUR videos, and bust THEIR (the city counsel member's) nuts! For THEY are the ones 'approving' and allowing this behavior. And bring some police brass along, too. There's a REASON that it's KENSINGTON AVE street in PA, which attracts addicts from all over the nation. But it's decidedly NOT 'because' the cops are somehow REFUSING to do their job. And to be honest, I'd LOVE to see THAT video!! ~Blessings!

@@ThePhillyCaptain No one is saying you can't 'have a conversation with the cops'. That's a dodge, Philly Captain. What I AM saying is: IF you are truly 'concerned' about this problem, then take it to the actual people who ARE responsible for these crazy, foolish policies - AND can DO something about it. ~Blessings!

@@ThePhillyCaptain Cool! Maybe consider 'upping your game' Philly Captain, and bringing your videos to a city counsel meeting, or two, or three! And RECORDING them! (They ARE public, you know) Perhaps some PUBLIC SHAMING of THESE individuals might bring the response we're all hoping for?
Do they know that Kensington Ave, Philadelphia is widely known across the entire USA - and the WORLD - for their permissive drug policies??? (I'm writing you from Kalamazoo, MI) Again, there's a REASON addicts flock to Kensington Ave, Philadelphia.
There are so many TH-cam video bloggers documenting what's happening there that by the time I type "S" in the TH-cam search, KENSINGTON AVE, PHILADELPHIA pops up!! Including: "Kensington Ave TODAY", Kensington Ave ZOMBIES" and many, many more.
Make them (the politicians, police brass, etc) DEFEND these policies - PUBLICLY! If it's in the name of 'compassion ' then rub their noses in the fact that the very folks they are supposedly 'helping', are in fact, DYING of their addictions, diseases, violence, and exposure - especially in the winter. Enough of MY preaching!
      Thanks for your channel.

My daughter was severely injured and fully addicted within months thanks to physicians over prescribing pain meds! I cry everyday and have grieved for her for 8 years now! She is deathly ill with bacteremia, cellulitis and horrid wounds. She knows she needs medical but the fear of withdrawing from zylazine trumps all decisions! She hates herself for the situation but these drugs are not normal! Hospitals treat them with such disrespect. She feels there us no way out! Since everyone here has an opinion, how can she get help? You should go to South Philly 7th St from snyder to wolf they call it mini k and a and I am one of lucky ones to get out. Tomorrow I have 30months clean and sober. I use to be homeless just like what u see here but my area was 7th St and its runned just like it is here the only difference is the cops are fighting back they know who r the users and the dealers and they will watch for anyone to break the smallest law and use that to stop you cuz if your an addict or dealer most likely you have some kind of warrant and that's what got me clean. July 24th 2019 I was putting a empty soda cup in the sewer instead of leaving it on a step and a cop was passing me and used that to stop me and run my name which I had a warrant for a different county and sat in jail at the round house for almost 3 days till I got transferred to carbon county in the poconos and once I was released i went to the nearest hospital and 201ed myself and went to rehab so I actually thank that cop that stopped me even tho at the time I was pissed off lol but they saved my life literally.

The problem really isn't the police, or the users, people are gonna use unfortunately it's a fact. In a place like Kensington however that has been disregarded for decades economically, it's created it's own underground economy, Philadelphia cannot support astronomical financial burden of locking every user up nor should they punitive justice has repeatedly failed. If they were to build the safe injection site and let people use their under medical attention where it's actually statistically proven to lower drug use as in the east side of lower Vancouver not only will the users not be on the street but the place would be a lot cleaner people wouldn't be at risk of dying as often as they are in the city would be able to progressively more towards and economic rebound in areas such as that.
