Ham log kuch v Nehi la paye yahan per refugee camp mein Rahane mein bahut jyada pareshani hua tha meri grandfather ko .then he got Indian citizenship after some struggling years.Then he joined Indian army after retirement he join police. But my other grand uncles ware not lucky thay ware killed in this war by Pakistan army. Everything was traumatic we don't no anything about them. We have dozens of stories of the time.
But kuchh bhi Ho I am born here and I proud to be Indian.

India's position in 1971 was simple: Enemy of my enemy is my friend. India took advantage of the mishandling of Pakistan Army in the aftermath of the 1970 elections. It would be foolish to think that India cared about the humanitarian rights of the Bengalis. It in fact needed a divided Pakistan as India itself was geographically sandwiched by East and West Pakistan. West Pakistan made mistakes and miscalculations one after another and handed over the situation to India in silver lining. Once divided, India obviously has her own priorities now. Its the muslims overall that suffered from the events.
