She loves Jaeon but still don’t trust him. Jaeon is a walking red flag, yes. But you can see that his character is changing. There’s a character development. His only problem is communication. Same as Nabi. Daeyuk is a nice guy. But she only thinks of him as her friend.. you can’t just settle with a guy you don’t love just because he’s nice. You’ll end up miserable staying in a loveless relationship. With Jaeon, its true that you’ll probably end up getting a broken heart but it’s a chance you have to take. If you will end up miserable no matter who you choose, then its better to enjoy the beauty of love & spend it with the one you really love. Take chances, be happy. Savour it for as long as it lasted.
I actually don't think there's anything such as this. You can get along with someone well and love them and they can love you back, and unfortunately this still doesn't mean you both are meant to be. If you didn't end up with someone, it was probably for a reason that you don't necessarily have to know or understand. Some things are just......the way they are. "It is what it is" kinda thing.....
dohyeok already knows she is still caught up with jae eon, yet he still continues to pursue nabi because unlike jae eon, he is the “sincere” one. idk why a lot of people praise him so much when it is already clear that she isn’t ready to have a relationship with him (she stated it herself), he should understand and respect her feelings first, instead of trying to push his own agenda onto her. unlike jae eon who immediately backs off as soon as nabi tells him to, dohyeok seems to be too persistent and kind of wants her to himself (just to make jae eon “lose”) instead of prioritizing how she actually feels altogether, and i think the audience is too blinded by “red flags” to even notice the difference.
I cried so much when I first saw this scene. So-hee really did a great job portraying her character's feelings and if anyone ever being in this kind of situation would understand that there's no right or wrong here.
honestly this drama deserves major props for portraying real characters & real situations. stories like nabi's, jae-on's, and dohyeok's happen in real life all the time. i think that the writers, director, and actors did a good job in showing that all of the characters aren't perfect- they're human.

Jaeon has never pushed her away as the webtoon readers claim, he had commitment issues but after talking to his mother, he is ready to be honest with his feelings, this drama doesn't revolves around any revenge or toxicity, there's no ex story rather a misunderstanding Nabi thinks Seola is his ex or current gf because seola made up that story and lied to her , seola had a different boyfriend whom she broke up with recently and now she's leaving for abroad again. Please pay attention to the details. :(
Yeah okay but Jae-eon’s past still doesnt mean or excuse his actions. Like the webtoon clearly explains that. Remember also how the webtoon and kdrama are bound to be different from each other; doesnt make the other material, especially the source material any less good, at least for the story of Nevertheless

Dohyeok is nice and all but i hate when he does something that put nabi on the spot. First when he confess nabi is his first love, he doesnt really care about nabi's feeling back then cuz he just want to tell jaeon to back off. I mean he clearly look at jaeon when confessing. According to me guys the fault in here is of none of them Jae:- he can't understand what he is doing is he doin it with nabi for love or he is doing it just for fun . In real life the solid, dependable, honest, sincere and long-term guy is your sure bet. Love isn't a feeling of high emotions and good sex. Love is a choice. You choose to love. Edit: As much as I was rooting for "potato guy" I do realise that at the end of the day, a broken person cannot have a healthy relationship with anyone until they sort themselves out. And, for sure, neither can Jae-eon and Na-bi. She already left a toxic relationship. She definitely doesn't need another one especially when she can't tell what real love is. Whatever the outcome of this drama, I've already lost interest and have stopped watching.

when I first saw this, I cried because no guy has ever done this for me but also I cried for Nabi because she's so confused with her feelings and Jae-eon isn't helping at all. The frustration shows through her tears and I felt that too. Great acting

But Na-bi too is really pissing me off, she constantly gives potato guy glimpses of hope. Accepting pretty much everything he does, knowing that she don't want him to do that. Also that ice cold stance towards Jae eon, it's out of place and real bad timing. Jae eon came out of his shell, that's what she wanted. I hope he doesn't give up, because they need to be together. Her ending up with Jaeon will only aggravate their problems since they both have so many issues. Feelings alone aren't enough for a relationship to last and for it to be healthy. She needs to find herself and love herself. She needs to know that she doesn't need to depend on someone to be happy, that she can be happy by herself as well. Same goes for Jaeon. He needs time to overcome his issues and trauma. Potato guy seems like someone who has himself figured out, he needs to find someone that will treasure him for who he is. He doesn't deserve to be anyone's rebound guy or second option. The best ending will be them going their separate ways and learn something from this experience for a happy future.

the thing about this show is that the audience loves to dial it down to such a shallow plot. it isn't about a love triangle, or about a stupid girl and a f!ckboy. it's about very imperfect and complicated people trying to find the right paths to grow individually. remember that both nabi and jae eon have traumatic pasts; and we only got to view everyone else mostly from nabi's point of view--meaning we don't actually know how jae eon is like, because we only got to see him through nabi's assumptions (which, as per observations, are clearly not 100% true). these two characters are meant to make mistakes and the show doesn't cover it up for them. they get to learn about these mistakes and find a way to fix them, by first needing to face their feelings and acknowledge their traumas. i think this show does a great job in keeping the characters consistent and they managed to show the slow process of how a person grows and decides to change (just like jae eon).
This. It's about realistic people who are imperfect and have issues of their own, and making mistakes. They are confused, frustrated, and unsure of their feelings and how to proceed with things. But that's what makes it so realistic to real life. In my eyes there is no "bad" or "good" characters - JE and NB are both complicated people.
Agree. Nevertheless is about coming of age story, focusing on the characters development of two main characters (Jae-eon and Nabi) like a butterfly's metamorphosis. It's never about love triangle at all. I hope people can understand this so they won't bicker about team 🦋 or 🥔 anymore. People complaining about how they feel the plot is slow-paced. Rather than slow-paced, I call it well-paced because how can you expect character development in only 5 eps or something? Nevertheless is clearly different with other romance kdramas, it's even not really under the same genre.

The vibe in this scene is EXACTLY like WEBTOON. Its a little different but this was so well done. Its wasn't that she didn't like him, its that she thinks she doesn't have what it takes to FULLY love someone and that she thinks he deserved someone better than her. This is the first time she put herself first and realised she wasn't in the right mindset and had to better herself. They are TOTALLY setting up the webtoon ending and I'm all for it. Thos scene was SUCH a good adaption from the webtoon.

Potato then says that he IS dissapointed in her...but he is only dissapointed in her because she just ASSUMED that he would be dissapointed in her. He thought she'd have enough insight to believe that he would thoughtful enough to understand her position. Instead, she thought he'd just abandon her...which upset him because he would never do that. Then she just says you deserve someone better than me. Then they are about to their seperate ways then some guys taunt Nabi saying "that jerk you were with is a prick to just leave you and not take you home". Hos insult to potato boy pisses off Nabi so much that she just punches that guy in the face and Potato comes and takes her away. They have another deep conversation about both of their situations then they decide to just live their live because they are so busy. Then there is a time skip of a few months. They are both in a better place They reconnect. And are togther as a couple.

Nabi did the right thing here, she is drawing the boundaries well from Do Hyeok and doesn’t seek for a rebound. And she’s right too - Do Hyeok is romanticising her. I’m disappointed in Do Hyeok for forcing his confession on Nabi like this when she was clearly feeling emotionally drained and unwell here. #Nevertheless is indeed a breakthrough show, breaking away from the typical romance k-dramas with the kind of conversations this has opened up. It is confusing, painful, misinterpreted, but very real. It is well-written and the characters are very consistent, but would take an audience with a critical mind, a good understanding of human character, and some form of acceptance. This is a hard pill to swallow for people with inherent prejudice. This is not a B&W show, same as life, there are gray areas. I choose to believe in the general good in people so I believe in second chances, and that change is possible. But for you to enjoy this, remember that this is still a fiction, and this show is about Nabi and Jae Eon growing up story.
Do hyeok shouldn't feel entitled to get Nabi just cuz their childhood friends, because that's not how love works. However, I also see so much love, trust, and sincerity in time. He is is literally them definition of the right person, but wrong time :(
To all the people saying he is pushing himself on her, no he isn't. Pushing himself on her is what Jaewon is doing. He clearly knows he is the reason behind Nabi's confusion and hurt. Jaewon literally wanted a casual relationship with her and she wanted more. He completely blamed her for their end of relationship and took no accountability. She went away from all this to clear her head and here he is again with no care of how she is hurting and just isn't ready. And yet you guys are romanticising this as love when it's just sooo toxic. Do-Hyeok isn't pursuing her but just telling her his honest feelings. Because, he also needs to move on in life. But he did that with a lot of care. And it's good that he did that for Nabi as well. If Nabi were to figure his feelings out on her own, she would have even more trust issues and feel even more terrible. She would feel like she ended up using him even more and His honestly about his feelings towards her might make Nabi uncomfortable initially but in future she will be thankful for it because she would recognise that he is an honest person whom she can choose to lean on. At least Do-Hyeok understands that Nabi is confused and not in a good place emotionally and is telling her that he can wait and she doesn't have to feel pressured. He isn't asking her to date him unlike Jaewon. Personally, I do t care if she ends up with potato guy or not, I hope she doesn't go back to Jaewon. He is still very much a red flag. He is just making it seem like he's doing it all for her because 'she wants him' when I'm reality he is doing it all for himself. He still isn't taking accountability in this relationship.
Him making his feelings clear is forcing? She can either accept him or not and she didn't... Her choice! He missed his chance before and wanted to let her know so maybe she can start seeing with other eyes. How is that forcing? lool

if it were me in her position around 5 years ago, I would have still hung up jae-on. Now I would have chosen dohyeok in a heart beat. Sometimes it's not necessarily about timing. It's more about maturity
The fact that Nevertheless pulled off a Loud House thing where they don't want to show Gyu-hyun's face was something else. Mixed reactions since he was one of the good characters.

I hate how i kept seeing hate comments on nabis character saying that why can’t she see jaeon’s sincere actions and wordssss like girl this nabi been through a lot. I think it was very bold and brave to tell Nabi how he felt about her and my heart ached, I thought it wouldn't have, he's so sweet but I honestly think that she does care for Yang Do-yeak as just a friend, she loves him but not in the way he wants her to love him. I am still team butterfly though having said that and I am hoping that Patk Jae-eon and Nabi will be open and honest with each other soon because there is only 2 episodes left for season 1 if Park Jae-eon and Nabi don't talk and say what they both feel and I believe Nabi will end up being single which is fine but still hoping that she will give Park Jae-eon a second chance.

She loves Jaeon but still don’t trust him. Jaeon is a walking red flag, yes. But you can see that his character is changing. There’s a character development. His only problem is communication. Same as Nabi. Daeyuk is a nice guy. But she only thinks of him as her friend.. you can’t just settle with a guy you don’t love just because he’s nice. You’ll end up miserable staying in a loveless relationship. With Jaeon, its true that you’ll probably end up getting a broken heart but it’s a chance you have to take. If you will end up miserable no matter who you choose, then its better to enjoy the beauty of love & spend it with the one you really love. Take chances, be happy. Savour it for as long as it lasted.
I actually don't think there's anything such as this. You can get along with someone well and love them and they can love you back, and unfortunately this still doesn't mean you both are meant to be. If you didn't end up with someone, it was probably for a reason that you don't necessarily have to know or understand. Some things are just......the way they are. "It is what it is" kinda thing.....
dohyeok already knows she is still caught up with jae eon, yet he still continues to pursue nabi because unlike jae eon, he is the “sincere” one. idk why a lot of people praise him so much when it is already clear that she isn’t ready to have a relationship with him (she stated it herself), he should understand and respect her feelings first, instead of trying to push his own agenda onto her. unlike jae eon who immediately backs off as soon as nabi tells him to, dohyeok seems to be too persistent and kind of wants her to himself (just to make jae eon “lose”) instead of prioritizing how she actually feels altogether, and i think the audience is too blinded by “red flags” to even notice the difference.

I cried so much when I first saw this scene. So-hee really did a great job portraying her character's feelings and if anyone ever being in this kind of situation would understand that there's no right or wrong here.
Shame i felt that..her tears who express her feeling in deepest my heart so touch directly when i saw...her acting so fantastic
honestly this drama deserves major props for portraying real characters & real situations. stories like nabi's, jae-on's, and dohyeok's happen in real life all the time. i think that the writers, director, and actors did a good job in showing that all of the characters aren't perfect- they're human.

when I first saw this, I cried because no guy has ever done this for me but also I cried for Nabi because she's so confused with her feelings and Jae-eon isn't helping at all. The frustration shows through her tears and I felt that too. Great acting

Also that ice cold stance towards Jae eon, it's out of place and real bad timing. Jae eon came out of his shell, that's what she wanted. I hope he doesn't give up, because they need to be together. They are a match.

Her ending up with Jaeon will only aggravate their problems since they both have so many issues. Feelings alone aren't enough for a relationship to last and for it to be healthy. She needs to find herself and love herself. She needs to know that she doesn't need to depend on someone to be happy, that she can be happy by herself as well. Same goes for Jaeon. He needs time to overcome his issues and trauma. Potato guy seems like someone who has himself figured out, he needs to find someone that will treasure him for who he is. He doesn't deserve to be anyone's rebound guy or second option. The best ending will be them going their separate ways and learn something from this experience for a happy future.
Potato boy is a good guy but would you really want him to be in a relationship with a girl who is clearly in love with someone else? Wouldn't that be more heartbreaking - getting the girl and seeing her hide what she feels in order not to hurt you.

the thing about this show is that the audience loves to dial it down to such a shallow plot. it isn't about a love triangle, or about a stupid girl and a f!ckboy. it's about very imperfect and complicated people trying to find the right paths to grow individually. remember that both nabi and jae eon have traumatic pasts; and we only got to view everyone else mostly from nabi's point of view--meaning we don't actually know how jae eon is like, because we only got to see him through nabi's assumptions (which, as per observations, are clearly not 100% true). these two characters are meant to make mistakes and the show doesn't cover it up for them. they get to learn about these mistakes and find a way to fix them, by first needing to face their feelings and acknowledge their traumas. i think this show does a great job in keeping the characters consistent and they managed to show the slow process of how a person grows and decides to change (just like jae eon).
This. It's about realistic people who are imperfect and have issues of their own, and making mistakes. They are confused, frustrated, and unsure of their feelings and how to proceed with things. But that's what makes it so realistic to real life. In my eyes there is no "bad" or "good" characters - JE and NB are both complicated people.

The vibe in this scene is EXACTLY like WEBTOON. Its a little different but this was so well done.
Its wasn't that she didn't like him, its that she thinks she doesn't have what it takes to FULLY love someone and that she thinks he deserved someone better than her.
This is the first time she put herself first and realised she wasn't in the right mindset and had to better herself.

Then Nabi continues to put up a wall between herself and Potato boy because she thinks Potato boy must hate her because she chose Jaeon over him and that he is dissapointed in her. Potato then says that he IS dissapointed in her...but he is only dissapointed in her because she just ASSUMED that he would be dissapointed in her. He thought she'd have enough insight to believe that he would thoughtful enough to understand her position. Instead, she thought he'd just abandon her...which upset him because he would never do that.
Then she just says you deserve someone better than me. Then they are about to their seperate ways then some guys taunt Nabi saying "that jerk you were with is a prick to just leave you and not take you home". Hos insult to potato boy pisses off Nabi so much that she just punches that guy in the face and Potato comes and takes her away.

I’m disappointed in Do Hyeok for forcing his confession on Nabi like this when she was clearly feeling emotionally drained and unwell here. On top of that, he kept doing grand gestures over and over again which made NB so confused and guilty to the point she felt that she is disappointing DH during ep8. Everyone said DH is a nice boy that NB should depend on, but to me he doesn’t care so much about her feelings. NB was overall feeling miserable in this episode but DH was so proud of himself thinking that he had scored points with her after doing things for her.

#Nevertheless is indeed a breakthrough show, breaking away from the typical romance k-dramas with the kind of conversations this has opened up. It is confusing, painful, misinterpreted, but very real. It is well-written and the characters are very consistent, but would take an audience with a critical mind, a good understanding of human character, and some form of acceptance. This is a hard pill to swallow for people with inherent prejudice. This is not a B&W show, same as life, there are gray areas. I choose to believe in the general good in people so I believe in second chances, and that change is possible. But for you to enjoy this, remember that this is still a fiction, and this show is about Nabi and Jae Eon growing up story.

To all the people saying he is pushing himself on her, no he isn't. Pushing himself on her is what Jaewon is doing. He clearly knows he is the reason behind Nabi's confusion and hurt. Jaewon literally wanted a casual relationship with her and she wanted more. He completely blamed her for their end of relationship and took no accountability. She went away from all this to clear her head and here he is again with no care of how she is hurting and just isn't ready. And yet you guys are romanticising this as love when it's just sooo toxic.
Do-Hyeok isn't pursuing her but just telling her his honest feelings. Because, he also needs to move on in life. But he did that with a lot of care. And it's good that he did that for Nabi as well. If Nabi were to figure his feelings out on her own, she would have even more trust issues and feel even more terrible. She would feel like she ended up using him even more and His honestly about his feelings towards her might make Nabi uncomfortable initially but in future she will be thankful for it because she would recognise that he is an honest person whom she can choose to lean on.

I think it was very bold and brave to tell Nabi how he felt about her and my heart ached, I thought it wouldn't have, he's so sweet but I honestly think that she does care for Yang Do-yeak as just a friend, she loves him but not in the way he wants her to love him.
