That Monstera is going to thrive with all the attention it gets 🤗🪴
As plants are receptive to vibes of admiration, you'll need to keep giving it a good dose of it on a regular basis 💚🥰 Keep the Monstera paintings coming, they're lovely!

I love our weekly visits Gaynor! You've captured perfectly the overwhelm we all feel at one point or another -- so many directions we could go in to the point we're immobilized. Picking one and having a go is important to break the funk that could set in. Also, I loved the "kitchen table" work and the play with cards. Be well!

I also discovered droplets on my cheese plant and thought I had a leak in the roof! I was up on a ladder feeling along the ceiling for damp patches and worrying about the cost of a repair 😂 my son said maybe it’s just the plant doing that….so like you, I googled and found out that it was the plant…..relief 😊

I really like how the searching quality of the initial strokes of watercolor work with the rest of the ink and watercolor piece you started of the potted plant! I look forward to seeing how move forward with the watercolor and the pastel. Thank you for sharing! It’s always so beneficial to see how others work. M xx

My tabletop easel (legs removed) is a permanent resident of my kitchen table.
His art reminds me of stitchery art: The 62 Group Connected Cloth 2021...
The large on wall looks like a middle effect that looks like 2 canvases nx 2 ea other.
U usually have non centered pieces?
Plz keep sharing all the aspects of art...have been more encouraged to experiment since watching ur videos and all the other ones TH-cam puts out because of watching Ur channel...such a variety.
Cubicle wall cabinet style hangers for organizing brushes, tubes of paint, etc does give more leg room! Thanks 4 so much-needed info to get thru the week til ur nx video packed format.

Hi Gaynor, I was scared when you started the watercolour at the end…..I thought stop! What is she doing? 😂 I should have had faith. I love it. You certainly have a lovely free style, whatever medium you are using. Always excited to see the next step. Roll on next video. 💐

But I know I can do the first bit again and I might discover something - usually that happens when I am frustrated and a bit out of control !!!! Always good to read your comments. Haha glad you said you have to many ideas and you don’t know what to do first. Again I’m the same….. and I did think maybe I should write it all down to see if that helps me not get so flustered with what to do first….. All your painting in the cabin look so fresh and beautiful, love the watercolour sketch at the end too! Looks so nice how it is, so delicate and light really looks great! Have a great week 👋

I love a "Canson" A4 hardback sketchbook but anything A4, hardback with paper that can take mixed media will do the job nicely 😊

Gaynor, I am a pastel artist. Try using Lux Archival sanded paper. You can use watercolor or thin fluid acrylics and it won't buckle. Then you have the tooth of the paper for pastel. Not as messy. Enjoy!

Hi Gaynor, enjoying watching your litle battes.
I have studied watercolour with a Swedish artist and have some suggestions for you:
do you see the bright green colour of the veins in the leaves? Make a good amount of that colour, then with the paper horisontal, put a good layer of water first on to the leaf you want to paint. Then drop some dollups of that bright green on to the “wet” leaf, and let the colour travel where it watts to go, allow to dry completely.
Next layer when totally dry, make a good portion of the darker green, paint it on to the leaf, but leaving areas of the veins and some corners of the leaf to remain bright green ( do study the leaves and notice how they are not JUST green😍… )drop some water on to the leaf into the new green and allow it to do its thing…watercolour is about letting the pigments do what they want….
try it it is a fun way…it takes a lot of water and a lot of drying time, but the effect is so much more free and lively. You may experiment with adding the darker green a bit before the first is totally dry and the colours may mix in a nice way.
Another idea is to use pastel on top of the bright green and smudge it almost to the edge of the leaf and allow the veins to stay bright green👋❤️

@@gaynorpattle I’m still waiting to watch, confident it will be worth the wait. I’m nearly finished making my hand made art journal, made all the “signatures” and today I painted and sealed the repurposed book cover into which I’ll be gluing the pages. So satisfying. But instead of calling it a journal I’m going to name it “Great Expectations “ as encouragement to myself. First page? Mark making!

Thank you. I glued the book and cover together today and as promised, I christened it with a few marks; I made myself hold a pastel pencil right at the very end so that I couldn’t control it (leftover crayons from my son’s days at college). Tomorrow comes the dedication which I saw on a scrapbooking video : “Your wings already exist, all you have to do is FLY”
