Throughout his career, on radio and television and as studio musician, Vincent Abato was in considerable demand as a clarinetist and saxophonist. In the early 1970's, I was fortunate to interview a number of clarinetists, and Jimmy Lytell spoke highly of Vincent Abato. So did radio conductor/arranger Gus Haenschen, who coincidentally had recorded Rudy Wiedoeft in the 1920's.
