Hey Grant, I am having the opposite problem on mine. It drags across the record upon starting/stopping. It does not lift up before moving horizontally. Could this be fixed by replacing the grease or is this a different issue, spring related perhaps?
There is an height agjustment screw located on the left of the tone arm under a rubber cap about 10mm dia. If this is screwed to far down the lifter won’t lift. If it’s too hi it’s won’t drop down on the record at all.
