I have just bought the 5000 version in the view to replacing my three magnitude reels. To be honest I am not bowled over with this reel after using it a few times. It is all about options and I am far from being an expert in reel technology. What I have found is the bail arm seems very close to the spool ,especially if you have big hands, also I find the anti reverse switch is fiddly and seems too close to the actual spool? I have used Shimano baitrunner reels for years and they are brilliant, but sorry to say I won't be purchasing another two of these reels 🤔
I have just replaced one of my magnitude 4000 reels that I have had and used extensively for the last 3/4 years with the XR4000 . . . I am a Preston tackle fan but in my opinion the XR4000 is far superior to the Magnitude 4000 . . . I find the XR is more balanced on the rod, quiet and smooth and the drag is silky smooth compared with the Magnitude. The anti reverse toggle would have been better placed at the back of the reel for ease of use but I can live with that. After using the XR 4000 several times now I will be replacing all my other magnitudes in the near future with XR’s.
I'll agree I bought a 4000 model and sent it back ,felt cheap and cheap made ,don't believe the hype on these reels tho I've been using the daiwa tdr reels and i will stick to them,not a big difference on price but a massive difference on quality
Have a look for an Aero ARC 4000FA, or the CI4 version of the same which is lighter but harder to find. They won't disappoint you,

It can serve for feeder maybe,but its not match reel at all..with 75 cm retrieve it Cant be true.if even 75...
I bought the 5000 in the shop for 170 euro's but it was too big for me so I changed it for the 4000. The difference is 5 grams and not the size. Well. no more Shimano for me.
the Difference in 4000 and 5000 is always been capacity of the spool not in grams of the reel :D
