- The ninth chapter of our series presents the second part of the evolution of one of the most troubled development cycles in Windows history. After its development was reset in August 2004, Windows Longhorn would have lots of the major features slated for release either postponed or canceled, as Microsoft was trying to put more emphasis on stability and performance. However, unfortunately, even though Windows Vista would bring radical new changes to the Windows architecture, all of this came at cost, since the system requirements of the new OS were much higher. As such, Vista was plagued from the beginning with negative reviews criticizing its slow performance and driver issues.

This was the point in development where I started to get really excited for 'Longhorn', specifically 5112. I was super interested in getting every updated build I could.

i still remember my 1st laptop acer aspire 4315 if i'm not mistaken, brings a lot of excitement everytime i turned it on. with win vista onboard, the ui is more comfortable, more enjoyable and feels like a futuristic era going on. but software compatibility ruined it all
