Second that. I cherish that time. I was 13-14 years old and joined a kinship from my country, I met most of my kinship -members twice in real-life, both times was a Christmas lunch. As the absolute youngest at that time (members were as old as I am today), I was treated as an equal, always. Those people were amazing.. Of course, this speaks more to the people than the actual game but what bounded us for all those years was lotro. Now, like you Declan, I'm 30, have a full time job, have relations and commitments and barely any time left over. This is not to sound too depressive, I love my life but god damn do I miss those old times..
god no on that hunter thing, there's a reason they scrapped that god awful shit idea in vanilla after less than a single expansion, because the RANGED CLASS that focuses on RANGED WEAPONS doesn't need a MELEE spec and it DOESN'T WORK and is AWFUL TO BALANCE... did you ever even look at it???????? the 51 pt talent did fkin 66 damage over 21 seconds at base rank at like 380 over 30 seconds when MM's aimed shot did upwards of 3k, it had 0 synergy with anything it was a bunch of poorly designed badly thought out shitty ideas that did not work whatsoever in practice. signed- former vanilla survival hunter.
100% agree about the redline beorning. It’s been YEARS that the redline has felt so broken compared to how polished yellow and blue line are. I would love to see their wrath get a rework so it doesn’t feel like I’m more useful in man-form in redline.
I know it's gonna go against the idea of Lore Master, being a pet class, but I would *love* an option to choose a trait (or an entire spec line) that changes how pets behave entirely. Instead of actually summoning a pet, LM would just infuse themselves with an "essence" of a pet, buffing the LM himself and granting him new abilities to use. I.e: essence of a bear would make the LM tankier, raven would make him a better debuffer, lynx would give him some short-lived stealth and ambush component to his attacks, the bog-guardian would grant some chonky poison DoTs etc. Again, I'm aware that giving the pet class an option to become a non-pet class (a stance class in this case, I guess?) is a very odd idea. I just love LM, but can't deal with the pet mechanics. EDIT: IIRC, the Captain used to have something similar, where they would just wear a banner or something in their class item slot, and it'd get rid of their herald, and instead just grant the cappy a flat stat boost. But, well, instead of a stat boost in LM's case, the pets would give those skills/specialties I was talking about.
im a big lore master player and i acutally agree. im not a big fan of the pet aspect of the class as it is. that bog guardian is so jarring to look at but one of the pets to use when levelling.
they haven't been able to fix the most basic of issues or even get lag in a respectable way after 17 years, sadly think any kind of major overhaul like that is quite literally out of their skill set >.
for Loremaster, I would like some visual options ( and size options ) for various pets. So in otherwords, Current pets should be a type but not set to an animal, the animal visual should be a tome we can read to use to just change appearances, like, heralds do etc. Bear, coudl be pig/boar or large dog Mastiff , Faroth etc. lynx could have various small stealthy ( foxes, maybe even corgi, and nether hound models ) got the bog lurker, there are already smaller options ( gourd lurkers, small lurkers pets, etc ) One of my drawbacks of playing with pets that are too big is that all I see is a massive pet blocking half my screen. With Hobbit Loremasters, smaller pets, and also a bit more mundane pets ( like , farm pig, farm dog, house cat, gourd lurker, ) would be a great addition to have.
I would love to see the yellow Hunter have the Camoflauge skill allow you to move in stealth instead of stationary stealth only, making it a ranged mobile stealth sort of class with traps. It would give it a Ranger kind of feel to it also.
Yellow hunter used to be able to fill a cc role in groups in a pinch. Once they ruined distracting shot by taking away the ability to keep a mob locked down with it, there was little point. I'd like if they fixed that and then turned blue tree into the non-speccable buff tree.
my low level hunter (lv20-30) likes blue line best b/c I can move and kite better and it seems to do more damage so far. i hear red gets better later but I don't think they got enough good abilities where I am yet
low levels, trait tree doesn't matter much... landscape content is an absolute joke in terms of difficulty. yellow, red, blue just use whatever.... near end game, red is best, blue is just for spending some extra points on things.
Lore Master is the class I find the most interesting theme wise and would probably main if not for the fact I really can't stand how Yellow line plays. The idea of playing a class that does a bunch of powerful debuffs is awesome, but find it's tied into an endless rotation of pet summon/unsummon...it's like WHAT?!?
%100 agreed with beorning. For lore master besides your opinion they should ban pet rotation in combat. For hunters blue and red line should be almost same dps numbers and people would pick for aoe or single target roles just like champions. Blue hunter representing Legolas which suppose to be much faster and split shot and rain of arrows must be at bottom of the blue trait line. Red line representing Bard the Bowman which suppose to be a single target hunter and Heartseeker and upshot suppose to be at bottom of the red trait line. Finally yellow trait should be like brawler and minstrel classes. They should have only useful buffs. Also blue line passive trait bonuses should have bow %5 dmg bonus and red line passive trait bonuses should have %5 crossbow dmg bonus. Yellow guardian should be like brawler and minstrel classes which includes useful buffs only. I just dont understand how a boxer can hit 12 person same time with 7.2meter range. SSG come on! Why we have brawler class? I have been playing with captain for 10 years. They already destroyed blue line. So they didnt like the idea of lore and they reminded us this is just an ordinary MMORPG game. Not a special one. So King Theoden yells ''Reform the lines'' then he dies in movie. So when blue captain was losing %11 max morale when we using reform the lines skill right? So now this trait line is just a cartoon character. Also they should change noble mark tracery which suppose to give self heals %3 with physical mitigation not physical mastery. And cutting attack new animation is sucks and slower. I really had a problem with deciding on my main. Went through Champ (lvl 53) Hunter (lvl 75) Beorning (lvl 72) before deciding on my Loremaster that is only lvl 39 right now. I love how the red spec plays with these impactful and flashy AoE abilities but it kinda scares me to think that when I eventually get to the end game I'm gonna hate playing the yellow spec because how different it is. I wish devs would make the red line more viable at the end game. Maybe not at the higher tiers but maybe T1-T3.
Red Beorning - I actually want to be able to play as either a big brute with say 2h club and maybe xform into bear when i get overwhelmed for more health and survivability
That was a good assessment. But SSG (Raninia) has already stated they only plan to make a single tree per class group/raid viable. So if you want T4-5 gear: conform or be left out. Crafting is not an option.

This may be a more personal preference, but I'd red line guardian to be more viable with a shield. I have access to a heavy shield, only class with it, I'd like to use it more offensively. It's doable now, of course, but red guard is already slow, and that makes it slower
@@christopherfittro1900 Try a split between Red and Blue. Blue main line for shield and Red for deep damage or go Main Red line for more faster kills and some blue line for shield abilities , try this out ,see if this helps.
I have been using the LM blue line and it's ok at lvl 53, the red line just deletes all, the other line is actually good the heal is good and I found it's better then the blue nine solo.
Glad I don't play Endgame. Sounds complicated. I'm a landscape questing/explorer type player. That said, I play different character race/class combos for flavour, not min/max. Not every class can be the best, and if each is maxed to be the best, then doesn't that wash out the charm of each class so that the true differences between them become merely cosmetic?
I am rather fond of brawler red or blue line. It is a challenge to play. I agree that pummel is not a good spec as it is. It uses up mettle and doesn't give much damage and the other mettle specs does more damage. I am working up my brawler and I fear that most people valar'd their brawlers to the top when it came out but didn't learn the rotation. build mettle, use the shout and rotate the mettle users. It works well and it is fun. I have more fun with it than the other melee classes.
They could make Yellow hunter a melee spec. I would love to be able to use throwing weapons instead of a bow. Make traps more fun to use, like, your skills should do more dmg to trapped enemies and things like that. Let us cover enemies in oil, so fire dmg classes do more damage, or maybe even spread some elven deseases to make targets more vulnerable to DOT damage. Let us lag the game even more making the servers do a lot of calculations like that 🤣🤣🤣
I wish they would rework the Warden gambit system. I find there is too much memorization required and also lots of buttons filling my action bar. I'm not sure what they could do, but if they had a gambit line that triggered off a single button and then have different buttons for each line of gambits, it would cut out lots of memorizations. For example, there could be a Surety of Death gambit button that every time you pressed it, it would stack the right gambit in the Surety of Death line. You could finish the line at any point (like you can now) or just keep pressing the button to stack up to the maximum gambits for that line. With that kind of system, you could remove all the gambit buttons (9 + 3) and make the class much easier to play. Probably won't happen as the company doesn't seem to have the nerve to make that kind of sweeping change. If they did, I would take my level 130 warden out of retirement.
The issue I find with the warden is lag, it abosolutely kills the gambit flow, and I end up with random gambits, and lag is something that has been an isssue with no sign of change.
@@johntaylor2683 got back into lotro with warden a few months ago. At level 100 now and yeah the biggest enemy to my fun is lag. I like building the combos, it makes the combat fun with more decisions per encounter i can make. But man when that lag spike hits it really just breaks the flow like you said.

I honestly really hate the idea of taking talent trees and making them universal. I would be extremely disappointed to see yellow guard made into one. The idea of tanking by debuffing enemies is really cool, as well as all the light damage you get. If it isn't good at its job, it should get a buff, because what is there is really interesting, and ive never seen a tank in any other mmo quite like it. As well, I think blue guard is extremely boring and basic, which is fine, but you can find classes just like it in so many other games that also just have their own generic sword and board tank. Yellow offers a really cool change of pace to a tank I havent seen anywhere else.
We're going to continue to disagree on this thing you and others have against execute, so I won't even get into a discussion at this time. That said red line feels very situational, probably why I'm in Yellow and blue most of the time and gets some key things from red line to boost the other 2. You can thank Vastin for those screw ups. I agree that one of the LM trees should be supplemental, but I think it should be the yellow line. Explosive arrow should not be ground targeted. Piercing traps heal could be taken up a few notches imo. Again, you can thank Vastin for the negative aspects of the hunter changes. All the traps once they are ground targetable can be used on the move and can be very useful if you need to seperate groups of mobs, or if you need to get away from combat you can drop them in your path as you go. Once again you can thank Vastin for the absurd changes to the yellow line Guardian. Red line Brawler is another that is good but tends to be situational. Blue line is by far imo a far superior spec. I spec primarily blue line captain, the heals could use some tweaking, I almost typed twerking, now I can't get the image of a dwarf twerking out of my head. So anyway, I think some of the skills have too long cd's.
Warden: just massively simplify the gambit system - it really shouldn't be designed in a way which detracts from the fun by being overwhelmed by class mechanics
Agree. The Warden's complexity is quite a bit out of line with the other classes. Maybe that is some people's cup-o-tea, but the complexity feels too out of place with the rest of the game's class experience. You can also see the issue with how the Warden tolerates lag -- it doesn't. The other classes are much more tolerant of lag and are comparably easy to learn. The Warden class is such an outlier.

Red cappy needs a huge rework i agree. Red brawler is fine imo. and Yellow hunter should turn into a "Melee" spec like the survival hunter in WoW.

Glad I don't play Endgame. Sounds complicated. I'm a landscape questing/explorer type player.
That said, I play different character race/class combos for flavour, not min/max. Not every class can be the best, and if each is maxed to be the best, then doesn't that wash out the charm of each class so that the true differences between them become merely cosmetic?
I am rather fond of brawler red or blue line. It is a challenge to play. I agree that pummel is not a good spec as it is. It uses up mettle and doesn't give much damage and the other mettle specs does more damage. I am working up my brawler and I fear that most people valar'd their brawlers to the top when it came out but didn't learn the rotation. build mettle, use the shout and rotate the mettle users. It works well and it is fun. I have more fun with it than the other melee classes.
They could make Yellow hunter a melee spec. I would love to be able to use throwing weapons instead of a bow. Make traps more fun to use, like, your skills should do more dmg to trapped enemies and things like that. Let us cover enemies in oil, so fire dmg classes do more damage, or maybe even spread some elven deseases to make targets more vulnerable to DOT damage.
Let us lag the game even more making the servers do a lot of calculations like that 🤣🤣🤣

I wish they would rework the Warden gambit system. I find there is too much memorization required and also lots of buttons filling my action bar. I'm not sure what they could do, but if they had a gambit line that triggered off a single button and then have different buttons for each line of gambits, it would cut out lots of memorizations. For example, there could be a Surety of Death gambit button that every time you pressed it, it would stack the right gambit in the Surety of Death line. You could finish the line at any point (like you can now) or just keep pressing the button to stack up to the maximum gambits for that line. With that kind of system, you could remove all the gambit buttons (9 + 3) and make the class much easier to play.
Probably won't happen as the company doesn't seem to have the nerve to make that kind of sweeping change. If they did, I would take my level 130 warden out of retirement.
The issue I find with the warden is lag, it abosolutely kills the gambit flow, and I end up with random gambits, and lag is something that has been an isssue with no sign of change.
@@johntaylor2683 got back into lotro with warden a few months ago. At level 100 now and yeah the biggest enemy to my fun is lag. I like building the combos, it makes the combat fun with more decisions per encounter i can make. But man when that lag spike hits it really just breaks the flow like you said.
@@johntaylor2683 Yeah it is annoying and can get you killed immediately if your soloing tough content lol but to me its a minor annoyance doesn't happen too often but I hope the problem can be addressed.
I honestly really hate the idea of taking talent trees and making them universal. I would be extremely disappointed to see yellow guard made into one. The idea of tanking by debuffing enemies is really cool, as well as all the light damage you get. If it isn't good at its job, it should get a buff, because what is there is really interesting, and ive never seen a tank in any other mmo quite like it. As well, I think blue guard is extremely boring and basic, which is fine, but you can find classes just like it in so many other games that also just have their own generic sword and board tank. Yellow offers a really cool change of pace to a tank I havent seen anywhere else.
My biggest wish is red beorning being viable in all content and RK not being a healer only

YES, red line Beorning is broken. Somehow the revamp a few years back just made it worse🤦
We're going to continue to disagree on this thing you and others have against execute, so I won't even get into a discussion at this time. That said red line feels very situational, probably why I'm in Yellow and blue most of the time and gets some key things from red line to boost the other 2.

I agree that one of the LM trees should be supplemental, but I think it should be the yellow line.
Explosive arrow should not be ground targeted. Piercing traps heal could be taken up a few notches imo. Again, you can thank Vastin for the negative aspects of the hunter changes. All the traps once they are ground targetable can be used on the move and can be very useful if you need to seperate groups of mobs, or if you need to get away from combat you can drop them in your path as you go.
Once again you can thank Vastin for the absurd changes to the yellow line Guardian.
Red line Brawler is another that is good but tends to be situational. Blue line is by far imo a far superior spec.
I spec primarily blue line captain, the heals could use some tweaking, I almost typed twerking, now I can't get the image of a dwarf twerking out of my head. So anyway, I think some of the skills have too long cd's.
Warden: just massively simplify the gambit system - it really shouldn't be designed in a way which detracts from the fun by being overwhelmed by class mechanics
But I love the play and strategy options that the gambit system enables. To each his own, I guess.
Agree. The Warden's complexity is quite a bit out of line with the other classes. Maybe that is some people's cup-o-tea, but the complexity feels too out of place with the rest of the game's class experience. You can also see the issue with how the Warden tolerates lag -- it doesn't. The other classes are much more tolerant of lag and are comparably easy to learn. The Warden class is such an outlier.

i mean not everyone did months of research before picking their class..... just because i rolled a captain doesn't mean i shouldn't be viable fucking solo.... i'm SUPER tired of hearing that line, yeah they should be great at group combat but that doesn't mean they should be mehhhhh soso subpar at solo combat and soloing, i got that vibe BIG TIME from the dev post on captain rework too.... like no... it's LITERALLY FKING IMPOSSIBLE to get a group for 99.9999999% of low level content, ESPECIALLY raids, i don't want to no longer be able to solo stuff because people said "HURRRR DURRR DONCHA NO ITZ A SUPPORT CLASS SILLY U NO PLAY IT SOLO U FUKT UP AND WASTED MAD TIME LEVLING CAPPY UR BAD DUDE!!!"
and yessssssssss omfg dude warden.... NO snap aggro to get shit off all the party members asides from the single 30sec CD, you're either trying to fking pick up aggro and so get NO defensives up or try to buff yourself or self heal and lose aggro, it's infuriating and then the insane lag lately and just clutter... i keep describing it as combat is like trying to fight while swimming through cold molasses... idk what the deal is but like when there's alot of stuff on screen and stuff is hectic 90% of the time my gambits just don't fucking go off or they go off in wrong order even when pressed in the correct order because of a slight delay or the GOD AWFUL tab targetted decided to randomly target some shit in the next room over so it starts trying to run me to that guy and doesn't do that gambit builder so it gets missed and then that gambit fails..... it's so bad.... they REALLY need to fix this shit it's insane playing both FF14, GW2, and LOTRO at the same time... this stuff is sooo unacceptable this far into the game's life and it has the same amount of money as some other games and is in SUCH a worse state... i just don't get it... like WTF are the devs doing??? if you look at the last few patch notes they look like WoW's alpha/beta patch notes... fixing the most basic shit that it's just like.... wait... why is that still a bug almost 17 years later???????? sooooo tired of hearing the "itz a money issue reeee" excuse when again, other games have similar budgets and the game's been out for 17 years and is so insanely insanely monetized to hell and back(noone cares if you don't NEED it, it's there and puts people off and they obviously do sell it or they wouldnt keep it in the store) that there's just no excuse for alot of these issues i feel like....
man for LM and even captain, the pet's abilities NOT property showing their cooldowns is fking awful and infuriating, unless you mouse over and read the tooltip you have no idea what the cooldown is because 99% of the time it shows it being available when it's NOT, it's SO frustrating ill go to use a buff for their abilities because it looks like they're up and it gets wasted because it's not available, and yeahhhh i literally stopped leveling my LM because that sounds awful... with the amount of shitty unplayable lag there has been lately i can't even imagine having to juggle pets CONSTANTLY and keep a bunch of debuffs up... these absolute hacks need to make a way to see YOUR OWN FKING DEBUFFS TOP PRIORITY AND EASILY SEE HOW MUCH TIME IS LEFT, even the various plugins only do it so half assed compared to *LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE OTHER MAJOR MMO IN THE LAST 15 YEARS* it's AWFUL trying to see how much time is left on all my DoTs and debuffs on warden who has like 9 diff DoTs and they're all just tiny little shitty icons that give no indiciation of how much time is left unless i stop what i'm doing and try to mouse over it in the middle of avoiding AOE/tanking.... it's like FFFSSSS dude COME ON!!!!
