    I sympathize with your quantity of hair. Having a lot when styling is both fun and a pain--fun because there's a lot you can do, a pain because it's a lot to work with.

      @@Just_Sara still going, we’re in a journey kill some monsters to get paid. Of course, after all that stuff happened to me, I lost a limb and other things happened the last time I was in a adventure like this. It was difficult to accept being in a adventure like this again.
      But you know, I have to help my family, and he is my best friend, I trust him even though he makes me want to punch him sometimes (specially when he came with this idea “I tRuSt YoU mOrE tHaN aNyOnE”, typical Israel).
      He got some scars since we left, but it makes him look kinda kinda bad-ass you know? You don’t see many wizards with scars lol
      But anyway, I’m enjoying it even if some weird stuff happened… we are not hunting the monsters, they are hunting us now, like coming directly to us, me and Israel, and we don’t know what this mean yet.

    I did my hair like this! I did it over the weekend, put it up Friday night and kept it Saturday and Sunday. It was a little messy by Sunday but could suit my on a long journey (not as nice for going into work so it was down Monday morning). I actually just put it back up tonight, because i unexpectedly have the next few days off and I'm going to be doing a lot of manual labor. It's super comfortable, even for sleeping in!
    I've done the two plaits and cross over before. My hair isn't quite long enough for that to work,but even so i like this way much better! It feels more even and more secure. Double plaits fall down my head sometimes, this never does.
    I started my braid just below my left ear, to try to make the top bit fuller. It didn't help a lot but i like it that way anyway. I also did a French braid instead of dutch. I've never learned Dutch braid before, and even though I looked up how to, i just don't have the practice to make that work. But i think the French braid looks nice still!
    Thank you for the amazing tutorial! I absolutely love this style!!!!!
    (I always use a purple ribbon 😊)

    Nice! I used to Dutch braid my daughter's waist length hair all the way around her head (a crown braid). But I'm not good with hair pins, and she didn't like how they felt. So I resorted to using embroidery floss or ribbon, and a blunt yarn needle to sew the "tail" into place.
    I like the way you demonstrated, and I might be able to do this with my own hair.

    • @zappababe8577
      @zappababe8577 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'll just mention that (in my experience) you always need a longer ribbon than you expect. Just something to bear in mind when you go ribbon shopping (I love that kind of shopping, I could spend ages and far too much money in any given haberdashery!)

    • @michaelasawyer8354
      @michaelasawyer8354 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My ribbon is way too long, but i tie it a few times to avoid cutting it.
      I have the bow on the back of my neck, but it doesn't bother me a bit. I have a satin like ribbon, so that probably helps.

    Ah! Bless you!
    Even though your lovely hair sometimes concealed what your fingers were doing, I got enough of an idea of the braid to guess the rest. It's surprisingly simple for something that looks so elaborate.
    Also I luckily have many of those little tapestry needles! So hopefully my hair is long enough, or this may be a half-up-half-down, pseudo-side-shave sort of look. 😆 🤣
    Thank you for posting for little ol me! I will be trying this on my day off! 😌

    Another word for "Dutch braid" is cornrow. The beginning is essentially how many black women around the world have and still do put their hair up for the night. Oh, and looking it up, the term comes from South Africans bringing cornrows to the Netherlands and the Dutch appropriating it. So, not a true historical style, just as an fyi to purists.
    Also, most cornrow styles are convenient for a few weeks travel.
