I Ate at Best Friend in Las Vegas... Unexpected Culinary Discoveries!

- This might be one of my new favorite spots in Las Vegas, Best Friend by Chef Roy Choi. Had an amazing dinner with fantastic service and a vibe unlike any restaurant I've experienced yet. This is definitely a Culinary Discovery worth exploring when you come to Vegas. It's located in the Park MGM.

Peppermill is known for being in movies. Eggslut, Hattie b’s hot chicken and other random places in the cosmopolitan if you want to hit more than one up at once.
Have you been to Bavettes Steakhouse there in The Park MGM? Try that one, if you haven’t.👍🏻👍🏻

The WAITER was totally on it. He really knows his MENU. Amazing service. So many restaurants. They just don't GET it.
Hell yeah buddy! So awesome of the nice couple to buy your dinner. I am loving your videos. Wish I still lived there. I lived ther from 1984 to 1991 and loved it. Vegas was a small town then and super cheap to eat.

This restaurant had an awesome vibe. Eric getting called hot, Great couples on other side. Shout out to Rachel and Jamil. Book Eric for a dinner party, so we can see you again. You two were great! Mezcal based drinks are the BEST! That couple was awesome... Made me think of going to my aunt and uncles place growing up. Comfortable with sharing and fun conversations just keeping it light and easy. Very nice video!

Love that place. Your experience seems to be pretty typical, people are very friendly and are there for good food ana great time. I've had two friends meet Roy, haven't met him yet but did meet the DJ, went to see him play later that night and had a great time. Glad you finally checked it out and had a great time.

Ok, l subscribed at 7 am. I've been binge watching ALL day. Brother in Huntington Beach, Uncle in Palos Verdes Estates, nephew in Vegas, me in Scottsdale. It's all good. Especially this channel! Appreciate you doing these so much! I've never been to Vegas and would only want to go to have a hub for traveling to the deserts / parks around the city, but I'm a big foodie and that is always our biggest spend when my husband and I go places, so I will be making a list of "go to's" for our eventual trip based on your videos and a few others we have found.

Best Friend is awesome! My favorite place in Vegas is China Pablano. Jaleo and Bizzare Meats were amazing too, but my personal favorite José Andrés restraunt is China Pablano. I eat there every time Im in Vegas, sometimes multiple times!
Best friend is amazing! I got to go there earlier this year. You made my mouth water seeing you try their dishes. Try Mother Wolf when you can. It was amazing!! I want to go back badly.

Solo dining at the bar is one of my fav ways to decompress while also treating myself. Talked to a lot of cool and interesting people over the years and I also eat during off-brand hours which seems to help a lot.
What a great experience, and that's complete karma after buying that couple's tacos at El Gordo! Good on you! I'm a former chef who adores the Vegas food scene and try to get there as much as possible, so I'm stoked that I found your channel. You definitely need to explore Chinatown if you haven't already. Taiwan Deli for breakfast, China Mama, and Lamaii Thai are all favorites. Also, we have had awesome meals at KYU in Fontainebleau. The wagyu tartar with bone marrow is amazing!

Thank you for this. We enjoy the Park and have walked by Best Friend assuming it was just a liquor store front so many times. Definitely going next time we are in Vegas.

Vegas is awesome for just striking up random convos… love it.
I went to master kim's last week to try to do this, stood at the front desk by the hostess stand for eight minutes and nobody said anything to me. Super disappointed
@@CulinaryMisfits I assume you went to the town square location? That is too bad, the wait times and front of the house staff at so many resturants in town are so scatter brained lately, went to Mr. Shota last week and had a similar experience.

I just stumbled upon your channel. Love your videos. The most expensive meal I've ever had was at Le Cirque in the Bellagio. I knew it when they asked if I wanted a black napkin to match my dress. So you could try that place to see if you think it's worth the price.
Eric, love the video! I think your experiences with strangers make your videos better. I think you’d do well with videos that focus on the food and the people who you meet.
So growing up half korean, I feel at odds at this place. I've avoided this place just not thinking of it as a 'real' korean restaurant. But after your review I'll give it a go. Might not be Mom's home cooking... but many times it's also the experience. Looks fun, looking forward to it.

This video makes me want to give Best Friend another try. My first experience there was so disappointing. All the food was average except for the galbi, which was one of the worst I've ever had. I really wanted to like it too, because I've enjoyed all the other food I've had from Roy Choi. Maybe it was just a bad day at Best Friend and I should try it again.

You know you must be good-looking when another straight man says you are “hot”! Another excellent video Chef Eric! You are almost convincing me to try eating alone at restaurants. Something I have never felt comfortable doing.
I lost my husband over a decade ago. Get out there and eat alone! Bring a book if you feel awkward. After you order a drink, stick your head in your book or phone.
Sit at the bar , then you’re not at a table alone, if that bothers you.
I eat out all the time alone and have since he’s been gone. Life goes quickly, get out there and do what ya wanna do!
Always better with people but not gonna go because it's just me. The upside of going alone, you get to order what you want

You can do it - solo eating at the bar is such a natural thing to do. Start off eating like an hour after the lunch rush when there will hardly be anyone else there. Good bartenders will be able to chat with you a bit and it helps break the ice.
You should check out Diablo’s Cantina in the Luxor. It’s a hidden gem! Amazing food, great service, cool atmosphere inside the Luxor!!

Damn I just went to Best Friend last week and feel like I blew it with my order. Was with my wife and we wanted to order the tasting menu each but she doesn’t eat pork so she couldn’t have it and they wouldn’t serve it just one person. The place was pretty chaotic when we went as it was super busy so waiter didn’t have a whole lot of time to explain the menu. Ended up getting the garlic chicken, the street corn and short rib tacos. Food was really good but wish I could have tried a few different things as everything there looks so good. Anyway will have to to back when I am in Vegas again!
