  • Autoglym New Ceramic Wash & Protect Testing - How To Get Best Results? In this video i will be testing out Autoglym Ceramic Wash & Protect Shampoo for 2024! I have been lucky enough to be involved with the research team looking into new products. Part of there research was done at my home, where they watched my clean process and talked about products i used. Now they have two new products, which have come from this research and as a thank you i received them to try for myself.
    Here a link to the products here - www.autoglym.com/advanced-all...

    Great to know that you're part of the Autoglym research. Did they not like your idea of using it in the snow foam gun? They don't seem to mention it on the instructions do they? Did you try it with 200ml and 300ml dilution and if so, what were the differences? Unimpressed

      Thanks for watching! Yes it was good to be involved with part of their research, it was a good experience. I think using it in the snow foam gun wasn't how they thought it should be used but for me personally I like to apply my shampoo via the cannon and always test them this way as well because some don't always work. I have tried it with more product and I thought it was much the same, it's never going to be a super thick shampoo, but that's how these ceramic shampoos are. I feel it gave ok water behaviour but I like to use a more thicker/ foamer shampoo 👍

    Autoglym as a staple british brand. Nothing they product ever really lets me down. I just dont like the triggers and find them very hit or miss. The shampoo looks decent enough. Definitely have a look into the valetpro ceramic wash aswell as the rain x shampoo i reviewed last week. They are absolutely superb

      Thanks for watching mate! Yeah I mentioned the trigger on the wheel cleaner as not the best, some products it works ok on and others it doesn't. It's not a bad shampoo at all and does what it's meant too. Ok mate I will check them out, I haven't tried them before so be interested to see how they perform 👍

    Ceramic soap is a great way to protect awkward places where you would normally struggle to apply a coating with an applicator (easy work for front grills). I haven't tried the autoglym ceramic soap yet but the others I have tried generally create beading rather than sheeting. Sheeting is arguably better than beading for drying the car naturally in between washes as it drags the water off rather than leaving it in little beads to dry up and create water spots.

    • @the_jnlt_channel
      @the_jnlt_channel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree it's great for that and to cover all of the car. Same for me, others I've tried normally create beads and this is the first one that actually sheeted the water off, which is better for sure. I noticed it was very helpful on the black paintwork which can show water spots more but as most of the water had sheeted off the car time I was drying it, this wasn't an issue with this product. If you are into these types of shampoo I would definitely recommend this one for sure 👍

    • @ItsMeYourRealDad
      @ItsMeYourRealDad 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@the_jnlt_channel i will give it a try. I use autoglym bodywork shampoo/conditioner (you most likely have some knocking around) and the "conditioner" part of that is a water repellent film that appears to have the same sheeting properties as that autoglym ceramic soap you have just reviewed. Beading is probably better when using a car dryer immediately after rinsing but with sheeting you just give it a few minutes and it dries itself off. I usually leave it 5 anyway then use the blow dryer to remove any remaining water trapped in any crevices. I hate when you've dried & buffed your car then you drive off and get a little drip sneaking out from under the door handle or wingmirror and it leaves an annoying drip mark down your nice shiny car lol

    • @the_jnlt_channel
      @the_jnlt_channel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ItsMeYourRealDad I have used that before as well, but a long time ago now. Ok so maybe they used some of the same ingredients for this product. Yeah beading is good for the car dryer but like you say just leave this for a little while and then dry off the rest of the car with the dryer. Ah I know that is so annoying 😂

    • @liamneale1831
      @liamneale1831 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A “sheeting” type of protecting it just something that isn’t as hydrophobic as something what “beads”. Sheeting still creates beads when it rains just not as aggressive. Also if your getting water spots after washing your car then clearly your leaving it far too long before drying it. Just my 2 cents on the beading v sheeting debate what people seem to have.

    • @the_jnlt_channel
      @the_jnlt_channel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@liamneale1831 do a little research on beading Vs sheeting online, you may be surprised to know that sheeting is actually better then water beading - Sheeting is better than beading because it either minimizes or eliminates the chance of finish-damaging beads forming. Sheeting can refer to two different effects: water fully wetting a surface and sliding off (hydrophilic sheeting) and water repelling from a surface without beading.
      From my experience sheeting has always been better and alot of top ceramic coating products giving sheeting properties rather than beading. Also water spots can foam because of the hard water in certain areas and also darker the paint work, the more chance you have of water spots. Obviously it is best to dry the car asap to avoid this but with beading you have more chance of water spots 👍

    I love autoglym, use them religiously. But I just don't feel like this product has a place in my detailing kit!
    At the moment, I use polar blast into Polar wash, into Polar seal.
    I could replace the polar wash with this, but I have a feeling the polar seal wouldn't adhere to the paint quite as well after using this!

    • @the_jnlt_channel
      @the_jnlt_channel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching Phil. That's fair enough, it's definitely not going to be for everyone. The polar range is top draw, so I can understand why you wouldn't want to move away from them. I am currently testing this ceramic shampoo topped with polar seal to see how long the protection lasts but it has seem to work well together so far. Have you seen the new wheel cleaner from Autoglym? I did a video on that as well, most likely will be of interest to you as an autoglym fan because that product is up there with the best wheel cleaners 👍

    • @marshmellow377
      @marshmellow377 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I did! And I picked some up this morning! Can't wait to try it!
      I am always down to try it. But if its completely incompatible with the polar seal it might be a deal breaker! You should definitely make a video trialling the polar seal after this wash with a one week update comparing the use of both products vs the use of just the polar seal on its own over, say a period of a week! that would be some top content!@@the_jnlt_channel

      @@the_jnlt_channel You don't get a huge later with Bathe+ but you don't need that if you use after using Gyeon Foam. For the contact wash it can be used from the bucket (2 bucket method) or via a snow foam lance and wash mitt etc. I honestly think it is brilliant ... great 'topper' too if you have a Gyeon ceramic coating applied. I'd definitely recommend you give it a go.
