In a way, the best marketing tip is to be a good person. People will love supporting you and your music if you build a good reputation. Work hard, be humble, be kind. Much love to all the indie musicians out there! 💛
Build a strong personal brand and engage with your fans! 🎶✨ Share your story, style, and behind-the-scenes moments on social media to connect with fans. 🎤 Consistency + authenticity = success! 🚀
Different social media platforms have different strengths. For example, TikTok is great for viral moments and music challenges, Instagram allows for visual storytelling and deeper engagement with your followers, while TH-cam is excellent for longer-form content like music videos, vlogs, and live streams.
1. Craft a press release: share news, updates. 2. Pitch stories to media outlets, music publications. 3. Secure interviews, features, and reviews Dittomusic does offer a package that would assist with the release❤🎉
Always promote your music on your story, share it with others to post on their story to attract new people. Create and post reels of your music on all social media platforms
Actually, let's start on the most important thing. spend more time on making amazing music that is worthy of branding. I think supporting your tunes with branding, S.M marketing etc that is "TRUE TO YOU". Don't get caught in following all the herd.
Release music regularly just don't release music and disappear. Consistency is vital to keeping your fanbase engaged and growing and also track your results and see what’s working. Which platforms are generating the most traffic? What’s getting the most interaction? Adjust your strategy based on data.
Consistency is key. If you create (not letting it sit in your library taking up space) and share your music (at least once a week), be really active on social media and knowing the trends that are going on, you'll be most likely to create content that you know will work. But also being real with your music and true to yourself, so creating a balance between you own perspective and getting to know how to get to people.
Solid branding is one of the things that has helped market some of the most commercial acts that are currently hot right now. Branding is the key way to stand out from the crowd because everybody is marketing but not everyone is branding their marketing. If you look at the most solid acts right now what has helped them stay at the level they're is the way they brand for each project and market with that branding. A solid example is The Weeknd's branding from After Hours to Dawn to his most recent album and the branding and rollout strategy for it.
Ahead stands the path, day after day, hour after hour, music is key, so is family, let it be ours, the sound of the drums, if you get crazy, dance to the beat.
Networking and collaborations are essential, on top of social media presence in general. Building a good relationship with other people in the industry goes a long way and it is more often than not a win-win situation.
Honestly the best way to market your music is through paying through ads or any other promotional services. Ditto offers the same service which puts your songs in the best playlists on streaming services and definitely will be on top on the list of those playlists. Social media is the best to build engagement but people sleep on the power of Digital Marketing
Make a list of all the ways you want to get your music out there (social media, ads, collaboration, mailing lists, networking, etc) and then work through the list one by one. There is a lot of information out there, but nothing can substitute for just putting in the time and working the process. A.k.a don't let your music just sit there and collect dust. Fully commit to the brand your making and the music your producing. Don't drown yourself in the how and get discouraged, instead focus on one task at a time.
Be true to yourself, use social media as much as possible, become a known presence in your local area and then branch out. Build the hype of any new releases, reply to comments. But most of all, enjoy the ride, if you are not the next Rock Star then at least you have had fun
Create a viral, interactive experience around your music-like a mystery, a game, or an alternate reality (AR) campaign-that engages your audience as co-creators of the story. Example: Mystery Campaign: If your track has themes of crime or investigation, hide clues in the song or video and challenge fans to solve the case. Reward winners with exclusive content or experiences.
Attend music Conventions/workshops and network with other creatives. (If you are an artist don't just stick to looking for other artists, find producers, marketers, Dj's, Bloggers e.t,c) Look into synchronization deals!! Know yourself, most musicians know themselves more than the music and as much as we explore music is a reflection of self. The reason why love songs slap hard is because everyone's has been in love or felt sadness. Express yourself and tell your true story in order to sound authentic.
Submiting your music to playlist caurators, find some small influencers and ask them if they can do a video with your music, at least try and get 5 to 10 people in a day who co do their videos with your music,
Leverage User-Generated Content- Encourage your fans to create and share their own videos using your music, and feature them on your channels. It builds community, increases reach, and taps into social proof. Bonus: ask them to use a unique hashtag so you can track and promote their posts easily!
Target your fan base/audience then Try To link up with all music lovers within your neighbourhood/communities, get contacts, send links then socialize with then in Clubs during performances and request for their supports by posting your posters and links on their social media handles
Marketing Music Tip - CONSISTENCY! Posting, performing, playing and practicing consistently will not only get your audience used to your sound, it also hones your craft, and provides opportunities for new audiences to discover you! It also beats the algorithm!
Music Marketing Tip: The best marketing tip I can give is never follow a trend but let the trend be you marketing Is important but never forget and remember that if you promote in a way just to get quick streams you'll never have time to build a loyal supporter base, because as quick you'll get those streams the faster those same people streaming your songs will move on to find someone else to listen too, so just be you and find creative ways to promote your music in your own unique way and even if it takes months or years you'll build a loyal supporter base that'll always stick by and go on that adventure with you ♡
Choose a good band name. Everyone has their own opinion. Use newer distribution apps and print and press vinyl and compact discs if you can afford too, and don't forget to respect the man.
Create a landing page with links to all your socials, music - could be as simple as a linktree. Include an email signup and install relevant advertising pixels if you plan on doing paid promotion. That way you can retarget more effectively visits to the website using the pixels or via the emails and create lookalike audiences. i.e. people who are similar to those that already like your music. Don't underestimate the power of your existing connections, friends, family - work colleagues :)

"Understand your audience" then for good marketing 4p's are important -product, price, promotion, and place (distribution)
✅
Not only focusing on promo before the release date but also after the release to keep the engagement and find a bigger fan base
