UNIDEN/ALBRECHT 355 -TABLE SCANNER UNBOX & TEST

I recently got one of these new from a private seller, I told him I wanted it for airband as I go to RAF Lakenheath to do photography so wanted to listen in to tower frequency, the chap gave me a mag mount Ariel and said it was a very good one. Parked at the side of the base and I couldn’t pick up anything whilst people around me, with a hand held radio like yours, was listening clearly to everything from tower to ground, I tried everything pushing buttons for literally hours and got nothing apart from civil aircraft miles away. I thought it was very strange and it’s not easy to use at all ??

I had the Uniden version and found it more pleasing to listen with an extension speaker. The audio was my only criticism really.
Regret selling it even though I have around 10 scanners, ideal for mobile with the mounting bracket and cigarette lighter power lead.
