    NICE. This is the best tutorial out there. This is even better than the manual. Thank You.
    Such a fun little box! I totally did not need one of these. I have a ridiculous amount of great gear. But I love this box mainly for its portability. I carry this powerful little box around everywhere I go and just pull it out and jam all the time. I bring it to work, in the car, etc.
    I make stuff while I’m out and about and use it later in bigger projects once I’m back home w/ all my gear.
    Awesome
    Thanks for the great tutorial too!
    Much needed and appreciated.

    This video put me over the top on TR-6S. Just purchased 🙂
    Love the compact format, and battery powered option.
    Would be very cool if it had the audio pass through, , to make it easier to combine with the MC-101, like my J-6 and T-8.

    I was following along with this demo but when trying out the Reverb Send and Delay Send options, nothing happens (@17:28). edit: I figured it out. You set Reverb Send and Delay Send on an per instrument basis. But these effects are eventually controlled together on the kit level. So if the kit Reverb and Delay level are off, you don't get the effect. On the kit level you can also let the delay effect go through the reverb effect again.

    I'm becoming very interested in this. I love Roland drum tones (all of them), but when I used a TR-8 I found myself twiddling about with parameters and stuff too much when recording (I ended up looping parts where I didn't), so the reduced layout might actually do me good. Most things seem pretty easy to access when you want to

    Questions: if each instrument track (channel 1-6) can have it's own midi channel assigned, can each sound then be played chromatically via and external midi keyboard? or... How can I have say 3 pitch toms recorded on the 'LT' track...the presets seem to suggest it can be done, I just can't work it out. Be great to be able to change the pitch of the clap throughout a pattern to. How is it done please?

    • @longandmcquade
      @longandmcquade  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Motion Recording is a feature that can be used on TUNE, DECAY, and 1 additional CTRL parameter per track. That is what you are hearing in the preset patterns, changing the TUNE or COARSE TUNE on each step. You cannot control this with MIDI notes coming from a keyboard.

    I currently own an elektron model cycles, and although I do like a lot of the functionality and sounds on that machine this machine seems to blow it out of the water, it’s almost like the model cycles and model samples combined plus all the great Roland sounds. Near perfect, only thing I would miss if I switch to this from elektron is control all, probability, and the ability to play samples chromatically. Do I replace my model cycles with the trs6 or add the model samples to my set up? And now with korg working on the drumlogue I might have to wait before making my decision. Great video and demonstration thank you

    Why it always needs to cut off reverb/delay parameters, why it's as factory not OFF?

    • @longandmcquade
      @longandmcquade  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The default kits have each instrument’s delay and reverb send active. This is to get immediate results when turning up the master delay or reverb knob. We have already passed this feedback direclty to Roland, as this is an understandable frustration. Thanks!

  • @NatLifeSounds
    @NatLifeSounds 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you said it has the same power that TR-8s, where I can use all 11 sounds at the same time? I didn't found it anywhere, learnead everything but not found the way how can I use more than only 6 sounds in same time

    • @longandmcquade
      @longandmcquade  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sound generation/engines on each track are the same as the TR-8S and just as powerful, as are the available effects and sequencing capabilities. However, you are correct that the track count is 6 on the TR-6S, and 11 on the TR-8S, which is the main area in which they differ, along with the amount of hands-on controls and well as analog inputs/outputs.

    • @longandmcquade

      The TR-6S has multi-channel USB audio and MIDI, so you have options depending on your workflow - record individual audio of each part, or even the MIDI sequences of each part to be edited in your DAW. Audio (Main stereo only) and MIDI over 5-Pin is also an option using a separate audio/MIDI interface.

    Sounding obviously digital, even through YT. Gen after gen of Zen/ACB/SuperNatural/CrapNobodyAskedFor..... and yet the simplest voice circuits are still elusive.
    Consider that Roland haven't improved sound-wise / emulation-wise on even their most basic legacy gear (TB-03 and TB-3, anyone? Didn't think so...).
    Apart from the non-challenging samples of 505/707/727 Roland have _still_ not managed to create a virtual TR/CR that has been in any way indistinguishable from the original. What a waste of a legacy.
