Is every waterfall in the Mournes a "secret"? Alyn goes exploring around the Silent Valley and Ben Crom reservoirs to find some of the waterfalls of the Mourne Mountains.
@@MiriamKennedy ha ha ha ha. I tried to keep it PG. But it was so lovely after a warm, sweaty walk and a pretty sticky night in the tent to be in the cold waters of the river. The waterfalls are beautiful though and it was something different to go hunting for.
Nice one. The Mournes certainly have a lot to offer, and you're right, we're often so focused on the peaks we miss the other beautifull features tucked away in the gullies.

Brilliant video as ever. Funny enough about two weeks ago I took a wee dander in the same area and thoroughly enjoyed the waterfalls, as you say they weren't by any way in flood but they are beautiful to relax at and enjoy the peace, quiet and a wee bit of lunch.

What a great and different way to explore an area you already know so well 👌 I'd say you needed that dip to cool off after fighting with your sleeping bag 🥵🥵🥵🤣 Another reason why I just stuff mine into the bottom of my pack 😊
@@nialloutdoors Niall, it was so great just to go exploring. I had a rough idea where I wanted to go but it was good to just go for a nosey. Bloody sleeping bag drove me mad.
@@daveandemmaoutdoors3171 Do you know, I'm not a hundred percent sure. I have done it before.The gates are closed at night though. Was a beautiful spot with a glimpse of the reservoir. Lovely to chill out too but the midges were a frustration. You couldn't sit too long. Lol
Hi Dave, I reached out to NI Water last year to ask about that and they said you shouldn't do it without letting them know. I think at a minimum you should let security at the gate know so they are not worried about someone being stuck in the car park overnight!

lovely spot great wee camp . Is it ok to leave your car overnight at silent valley ? I always wondered about that . Do they lock the gates ?
