If you are a science student, you must know the importance of physics. It is not only one of the most vital branches of this field but also a very popular subject among students. Before you are about to start your career in physics, do know that it can be a challenge at times to learn this subject. But physics isnt as difficult as some of you might think.
There are several branches that fall under this category. Some take an interest in astrophysics as it involves the physical and chemical properties of astronomy and the material objects located outside the surface of our planet. Others choose Cosmology as it focuses on the study of creation, composition and progression of space and time of the universe. There are three other branches in physics too such as plasma physics, magnetism and fluid mechanics. Plasma physics consists of the study of materials present in the plasma phase whereas magnetism is about the reaction, response of physical structures in terms of their setting and location in space. Finally fluid mechanics is about the research of properties and reactions of matter in a fluid state.
The branches of physics don’t end here. There are several other departments such as Quantum Physics, Space Physics and Acoustics. Students who would are keen on choosing physics as a career should choose a branch before proceeding further. If you are in your first year in college studying physics as an honours subject, you should be aware of the career opportunities that come with BSC physics. You could choose any of the following
• Teaching in high school or elementary school.
• Technician in the laboratory, whether it is government or industry
• Salesperson for handling technical industries
• Studying meteorology
• Computer programming
• Several technical jobs are available such as operating electrical power plant operator, monitoring radiation and operating scientific instruments.
Other jobs include
• Laboratory demonstrator in colleges and universities
• Making a career out of engineering
• Some more teaching in a local community college.
However, if you want to have a bright and successful career in physics, it is best to study further. A master’s degree in physics is of much more value. People who study PHD are able to enter high level research in both the industry as well as the government. However, since you are just about to begin your career, it is also important to apply to the right colleges to study physics. This video is quite misleading. As it doesn't talk about institutes like IISC, TIFR, IISER, BARC, etc. Secondly it doesn't tell you how actually you can form a career after BSc, as many in the comments are asking how to join ISRO, not knowing that ISRO has been taking only Btech's for it's scientist positions and not BSc students. Even the branches stated seem odd as such branches aren't seen for specialisation in Indian universities/colleges. It also doesn''t talk about various competitive exams and job opportunities after BSc (which are actually non existent, unless you do post grad or Phd).
To all those who are looking for genuine answer to job opportunities look up somewhere else (I tried quora, it gave much better results than this video)

I just have one thing to say .. students go for engineering so that they can get job but I belive that if you are doing bsc kind of thing then it should not be for job it's because you love to do it and you just keep on seeking things unlike engneering which will provide you some formulas and you have to apply it again and again that's it.if you are doing bsc with interest then definitely you are going to attract lot of money you don't have to run after it

I do Bsc Physics Because I love Physics and to use the application in trying to create some new theories while digging my mind.... I am ok with my Job which has no connection with physics although... but yes I will finish MSC and Doctors if possible to use the applicaiton in creating something.

Cosmologist is the one with PhD in Cosmology/Astrophysics. ISRO require physicists in the fields of condensed matter, to help them make solar panels of the satellite. Keep things simple, firstly focus till your masters in related subject. then look for the opportunities in ISRO as a junior research fellow.
cosmology is the study of origin of universe...u may know it. ...but ur seek i prefer u to join Nasa Rather ISRO cozz ISRO Donot focus much on Research field as they give more importance to Constitution field....

For becoming Scientist you need to do PhD in any branch of Physics.

@@soumyadeepsaha5621 Only old IITs like IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Khargapur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi are good and others are Shit.
Also IITs are Educational Institutes as well as research. So, professors in IITs mostly focus on teaching rather than research.
But, Research Institutes like IACS Kolkata, Bose Institute, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, SN Bose National Research Center for basic Sciences, ICTS Bangalore, IIST, PRL, ARIES, IUCAA, IIA etc You would find only Scientists who are dedicated to Research. They won't teach you, but will tell you to do only research.
So, I can say Research Environment is far better in those Research Institutes than IITs.
