I just realised something and it made me bawl my eyes out. Death also means rebirth, a new beginning. That's why her mentor said: "Let us begin." 😭❤️ I freaking love that show!!
I agree, because in the tarot the death card not only means loss but also transformation, the possibility of a new beginning. This episode is a masterpiece. Brilliant from all angles.
She can then "transition" at will or even just live through her life linearly until she "meets up" with that inevitable event that is her falling to her death 😢
Death usually means rebirth in a spread. An actual death usually is foretold when the Death arcana comes in tandem with another card. When my dad died, I pulled the Death card and the 8 of Cups. Other cards in tandem with Death are, 5 of Cups, the Sun, and the King of Swords.

Either Lilia got to go back to the beginning and live her life again…or she joined her mentor in the afterlife and begins a new journey. Either way it’s beautiful.
That's a (classically) romantic view/take on that, true... however, the more likely thing -- which is ultimately the real underlying lesson/message for Lilia and the viewing audience -- is that she simply ended her last few seconds of consciousness in that moment of just beginning the conversation at the table. If we continued to watch her after that moment, for instance, we would simply see the pieced-together, splintered conversation she had with her Maestra as-presented across the episode. WandaVision, DS:MoM, and now AAA are _not_ shows/movies about happy endings in those contexts; that's not being negative for negativity's sake, but rather seeing the mix of good and bad that the stories are intended to convey, which in turn makes them more true-in-essence vs being overly soft-sold. The lesson of Lilia's story is about acceptance as one goes through things, enjoying what one can and enduring the bad even when such means one has to suffer and die so long as it ultimately leads to a better good. (It's not that Lilia gets to got to "heaven", but that she lives her life across time and ultimately makes peace with what had troubled her all her life during the moments just before death -- *that* is the "heaven" she experiences: those few seconds of peace and knowing she did good in the end before she fades into oblivion.)

I love that we get to see all of Lilia's "random lines" from earlier episodes edited together so beautifully from her perspective. All of the Tarot cards + the characters shown as the Tarot cards was beautiful done too. 😍 Death means rebirth as well, so when we see Lilia choosing to fall and then we see her as a young lady at the beginning of her journey she seemed so much more determined and happy because she wasn't afraid of her power anymore and her life was put together without her jumping around on her own timeline. I started to tear up and cry when Lilia chose to stay behing to deal with the Salem Seven and while doing so she saved her new coven which she wasn't able to do to her original coven. Patti LuPone is an ICON, a LEGEND, and a QUEEN (of Cups). Lilia will be missed. 😭💔 This show made me care about these characters in such a short time. (A thing "The Acolyte" failed to do.) Damn it Marvel, you make me love all of these new characters and then kill them off so fast. The audacity! 🥺 My mind is blown away by this excellent piece of TV. 🤯😍
I love how this episode gave us a real look into how Lilia perceives the world. The jump cuts seem confusing at first, but it's the reality Lilia has dealt with throughout the road. The whole season has been poking fun at Lilia's weird behavior and making her seem like the crazy old witch, when in reality her mind is basically free of the constraints of time. Her power exceeded her ambition, and only in her death did she realize how to use it. One of the best episodes of ANY marvel tv show hands down.
I could see death bringing back everyone at the end but not because of wanting to, but because of Agatha realizing that she needs her convent or Billy realizing that what he’s missing isn’t just Tommy, but those that are important to him. Remember, you get what you most desire at the end of the road so next episode we may see some change of heart with Agatha since Lilia sacrificed herself to protect them all even though the Salem seven were really only after Agatha.
I’ve been saying this! Billy has been battling his identity if Billy or William since his introduction and I imagine the Kaplans would need some sort of closure to not knowing their William died. Billy manifesting his powers will hinge on accepting a William Kaplan and Billy Maximoff identity in one.

This episode brought me to tears when she was doing her own tarot reading. Love this show so much! Like she's literally the Queen of Cup's card which is just magikal. Death..She can get it
I think Lilia just finally realizes that her death isn't really the end for her, ironically because of the same reason she was so traumatized her whole life, 'the flow of time is an illusion'. She's experiencing all of this now like a closed loop with no end or beginning which is why we get that scene at the end. I loved this freaking episode!
Slight correction about Deadpool. Thanos cursed Deadpool never to be able to die because Deadpool and Death were in love and Thanos didn't want DP to be able to be with Death.
Lilia said she was bad at reading her first cup which is filled with tea leaves because that is the last sequence of her life just after death. She was bad at it because shes never done it.
Her young self was taken over by future Lilia. Her "mother" sensed that, that why she mentioned that she was visiting. So this means trhat when she told Jen that when she was a kid she saw her life out of sequence, this was it. Her future is her past and her past her future.
I'm calling it. Rio/Death is how our Wanda/Scarlet Witch returns. Death only takes those whose time has come. Wanda took herself out in Multiverse of Madness and it was not her time to go. She is still needed.
You think so? In Ep1 Rio did not seem to care at all about the Scarlet Witch being dead, if anything I think she'd be more mad about Billy cheating death than someone going earlier.
I was thinking that if Wanda IS dead, Death could bring her back, so you may be right…. And while Rio could appear to not care about the Scarlet Witch, I think it might be all an act..
When Agatha sees the body and asks "is she's really gone?", Rio says that that (Wanda) shouldn't be important to Agatha. And that she should focus on finding herself. So she never confirmed that Wanda is alive anyway. She only cared about Agatha waking up from the spell
I never hear anybody commenting on Rio’s theme song but damn it was chilling when the music changed to it during her reveal. Also love the Dia De Los Muertos look for her makeup

5:00 -- Magic vs Magik/Magick. The former is more often used for representing conventional stage illusions/tricks whereas the latter refers to actual metaphysical/supernatural workings. 20:20 No, she's not starting her life over -- this is simply the moment when she came up to the table for her first lesson. (If we continued with that moment, we'd see again what we saw earlier: her being confused/afraid, and everything else that played out at the table during that "lesson" -- the point is that her life/existence is experienced by her out-of-order at key times. In that moment, at the beginning of the lesson, is the end of her life in her conscious mind; in the relative future, she is dying on the "floor/roof" of the tower, impaled on the sword.)

@@fuzzyotterpaws4395 I believe it's important for people who are actually into witchcraft and not just fiction, like comic book writers. Could be wrong tho.
@@fuzzyotterpaws4395 We're referring to real-world usage (both in the post-modern era as well as archaic spellings from centuries ago) as-used in the subtitling. Magic vs Magik/Magick, however, isn't new at all, and is used by many real-life practitioners of of mystical beliefs as a delineation between stage magic vs "real" magick (spellcasting and the like). As the show is on the more post-modern side of the comicbook genre, they're apparently leaning into that usage. (It literally doesn't matter what you've read in various comics before relative to that -- I, for instance, have been reading Dr. Strange, in various comics, since the late 70s -- as in-narratively many characters, particularly but not limited to non-practitioners, *will* use the spelling "magic" as a matter of course in general conversation... but that, again, doesn't change the validity of the alternate spelling used in this live action series. It's actually a nice touch/acknowledgement and shows that the writers/subtitles did their homework.)
I think she will be resurrected by Rio because she tells Agatha to hit the deck, how would she know what's next when she dies in the tower? So she must have a life after her death where she knows what happens in the next trial to the point of advising Agatha
I think Lilia had a conversation with Rio when she realized was death, and now knows her intentions to challenge Agatha. I would love if Lilia comes back and Alice as well, but idk
If it's true that the witch's road that they're traversing is actually Billy's hex then perhaps Billy is the one that will ressurect them. After all, Billy IS the green witch of the group, the hex-road only activated once all witches are nearby. I don't think Death wants to revive them, she said it herself, she WANTS the bodies. We'll probably have a battle between Death vs Agatha and Billy. At the end of the show I think all of the witch will be ressurected, and all their wishes will be somehow granted. Jen will unbound herself, Lilia will have more control over her time-slipping (predicts lotteries), Agatha has powers (subpar, only alice), Alice gets to meet her mom, even Mrs Hart will have a wish of her granted.
Somebody may have already responded, but I didn’t know about magic with a K either so I looked it up. It actually is a thing that distinguishes ‘real’ magick from stage magic.
Rio says all roads lead to her... I'm excited to see the end of the Witches Road. The only thing that makes me sad is that I won't see her again as Lenny from Legion, but I hope Aubrey Plaza comes up in other titles.
Wiccans and modem day witches began adding the "k" again in the 60's. This was attributed to Gerald Gardner who is known as the Father of Wicca. The "k" indicates the practice of modern witches and Wiccans; whereas no "k"denotes the practice of stage magicians with a rabbit and hat.
"When i was i child i lived my life out of sequence" her death is like in the middle of her life as she, in time, perceives it, so in the end of the episode she just automatically jumps to when she was a kid, basically living her childhood in sync finally and without jumps, practically she will live her life again free of death because in her perception she will never reach again death.
So, the last piece for me is who is Agatha’s father? Why did her mother feel she should have killed her at birth? I have a feeling Mephisto is her dad and that’s how Agatha met Rio.
Please see this because I just figured out this is not the real witches road. Billy unknowingly created the it with a reality hex which is why we saw the subway stations. Mrs Hart brought it up and Agatha has known this whole time because she walked the real witches road which is why she made the comment about his mom being just like him. So good
I don't know if my brain is warped in any way, but this type of storytelling does not confuse me, at all. I just enjoy every moment of it. I realise, a lot of the reactors get confused.
I love that we already know Elizabeth Olsen and Aubrey Plaza have amazing chemistry from their work in other movies so hopefully she is in the Scarlet Witch movie along with Billy and Agatha
i find myself somewhat obsessed with figuring out which fever / plague wiped out Lillia's people. given that it was centuries ago; at first i thought it was the Spanish Flu, but then i thought about the Black Plague. i'm still mulling over when and what it could be. that aside, ABSOLUTELY STELLAR episode!
LILIA is the GOAT. I think this is not the end of Lilia. Or at least not the last time we see her character in this show. Given the line from here: "I loved being a Witch" and the fact that both the Windfall card (Tower Reversed) and the Destination card (Death) represent Transformation, I think we will be seeing Lilia again. Maybe as the spirit that guides them to the end of the road.
I love to think that no one really dies, they just enter eternity through our memories. What if all the Witches can visit Lilia through their memories..
It says they get what they are missing at the end, not what they wish for. I think teen will get his memories of being both William and Billy, and Agatha will get her coven
Thanos/Josh Brolin, Deadpool/Ryan Reynolds and Agatha Harkness/Kathryn Hahn all duking it out over the hand of Mistress Death/Aubrey Plaza? I'd pay damn good money for that season of The Bachelorette: Marvel Edition.

Wiccans and modem day witches began adding the "k" again in the 60's. This was attributed to Gerald Gardner who is known as the Father of Wicca. The "k" indicates the practice of modern witches and Wiccans; whereas no "k"denotes the practice of stage magicians with a rabbit and hat.
her coven leader asked whether shes visiting in the beginning of the show and she said yes cause shes not dead yet.
Magick is spelt the same way in Star Wars with the Nightsisters etc! More of a witchy term than general street magic from a magician, for example!
Best episode so far!!!! 😭✨
Tommy.. that's why Lilia give Billy his book
Best Marvel show episode since Loki season 2.
RIP LILIA!! What a great character!
Welcome back Hector!!! This Episode was phenomenal ❤🎉
This is such a good one. I enjoyed Lilia and how her story ended, it felt satisfying. Also welcome back Hector
Great episode. Love a timey wimey episode.
Enjoyed your reaction as usual.
I totally agree with Adam about characters coming back.... with a really good reason! Love you guys!
Man, I was cackling at Hector being like "we're just not as into this show as the rest of you" at the start of THIS episode of all episodes 🤣
Magic is slight-of-hand, mirror illusions and escaping from a straight jacket, it's tricks.
Magick is spiritual and supernatural.
So good
Magic = illusions, stage magic, Houdini
Magick = actual magic, witchcraft, Wicca
I love this show. It has a lot of great twists and mind trickery.
This episode was a masterpiece!
5:32 probably because all the witches are aligned with natural forces. Water, Earth, Air, Fire, Death.
4:52 - Magic = card tricks, etc; magick = spirituality/occult, etc. The extra letter was popularised by occultist Aleister Crowley.
I have sit on Hector, "Thanos in love with Death!!" 😂😂
Plot twist: Lilia survives the fall and is given an extra trial by Rio, eating a chicken DEATH wing!! ( pun intended!!)😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
I don't know if my brain is warped in any way, but this type of storytelling does not confuse me, at all. I just enjoy every moment of it. I realise, a lot of the reactors get confused.
21:36 More like Aubrey Plaza Death for Deadpool 4!😂
with those 2, if that turns into some cheesy romance christmas movie, imma still watching. lol
Did you notice that the sword that fell behind Teen was the Atlantean sword?
Thanks to Adam, Hector and Agustin! 🧙♀
Lowkey the argument could be made that we’d prefer all three during this episode than last week think that worked out just fine
I love that we already know Elizabeth Olsen and Aubrey Plaza have amazing chemistry from their work in other movies so hopefully she is in the Scarlet Witch movie along with Billy and Agatha
I was falling
… “for 30 minutes” 😂
i find myself somewhat obsessed with figuring out which fever / plague wiped out Lillia's people. given that it was centuries ago; at first i thought it was the Spanish Flu, but then i thought about the Black Plague. i'm still mulling over when and what it could be. that aside, ABSOLUTELY STELLAR episode!
Easily the best episode yet.
NR breakdown comes out tomorrow on Friday.
Finally~ the wait for the Papis reaction is over.
Best MCU show alongside Wandavision, I was tearing up for Lilia, RIP our clairvoyant queen. ;w;
This show is such a blast.
I love to think that no one really dies, they just enter eternity through our memories. What if all the Witches can visit Lilia through their memories..
Billy is the true Green Witch his trial should be next. Agatha had her trial when Alice's powers got stolen.
Yeah, this is going in my rotation yearly for Halloween.
Lilia is my favorite character hands down
It says they get what they are missing at the end, not what they wish for. I think teen will get his memories of being both William and Billy, and Agatha will get her coven
Patti Lupone is a master class of acting and stage!!!!
