Let's take a moment to reflect on something we are taking for granted...these guys literally just drove across the entire US of A without breaking down once! (wheel bearing didn't stop them). Just a few years ago it was a struggle getting from town to town. What a job well done guys! As you yourselves would say, "What a bunch of legends!" It gives me more confidence for my road trip from LA to Washington state this summer with my bug. Wish me LOTS of luck, I've never driven more than 70 miles with it at a time.
I love you guys so much! Please keep in mind we'd rather you be safe and healthy than posting at such a rapid rate. We're hooked, we're not going anywhere. Please please please take care of yourselves. I am a vidographer/Photographer myself, and I know how much work you must be throwing at this. But remember to take a day or two off for yourselves once in a while. Or a week LOL! you earned it!

You guys have convinced me to get off my LAZY BUTT and travel when I get older! I can’t thank you guys enough for showing all of your viewers what life you CAN live if you take the chance!!
Please be safe and take care of the 3 of you. I know that continuous work and stress will wear on the body so please be safe and have a great adventure. You 3 are doing what millions of people can only dream of.
Love the videos guys. I only discovered Kombi life like two weeks ago and I'm hooked. Binged every vid, and I honestly think I'm more excited to see the future episodes than I am to see the next season of Game of thrones haha :) Hope it all goes well in New York and definitely take some time, while Boomerang is being shipped, to recoup. Think ye might pop over and drive the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland before going east??? I mean technically, ye would be missing the start of western Europe if you don't and some awesome surf :)
It’s not often I comment, but please Leah, take care of your self, the rest of the world can wait. Stay well both of you. Looking forward to your next visual diary of your travels. thanks for sharing . . . .

I love your videos and hate loving them. I'm a college student to scared not living up to family standards and every time I watch a video of yours I get an adrenalin boost, just like when I read On the road, but then feel envious. Your life is such and adventure.

The planning stage is one of the best I think, prepping your vehicle, and deciding where to go - we're stoked that we can involve you in ours, good luck prepping for your trip Jaimuez and thanks for your support!
Not paranoid. The alligators take several people (and dogs) every year in FL. FL also has a shark problem. Several serious attacks and 1 death so far? In 2019. There are large numbers of them in the surf.
Love you guys so much, keep up the good work! You could try to go to Cabot circus in Bristol, it's amazing, filled with amazing shops, street performers, tourists and filled with security and secured parking lots so boomerang isn't in danger of getting dented or get robbed by anyone and if your lucky you can catch an amazing sunset -hope you guys see this
I live a little south of Jacksonville and I had a water moccasin bite the sole of my shoe once. They have every right to be afraid. Those things freakin swim.
I’ve lived a lot of places, but I was born in Louisiana and it’s the state I call home. Glad y’all got to see some of the stuff that makes Louisiana truly special! Hope y’all have many adventures to come!
I’m from Florida and I love how you were able to portray the beauty of one of our most important assets (the Everglades) and our beaches. I’m new to watching your channel and I think you guys are on a cool endeavor! If you’re ever in West Palm Beach I’m a farmer and would live to show your our farm land! Safe travels guys!🇺🇸
Thanks for joining the Kombi Crew Mikey - we really appreciate you getting behind us and we're stoked to be able to involve you more in the expedition!
Thank you for your tireless efforts to bring us such a great series. I hope you were able to find time to rest and recharge. Just know that your devotion to this journey and documenting so many of the moments is a gift to all of us. As usual, I can't wait till next Thursday. Thanks.
Quick thing: try to take time for yourselves regularly so you don't burn out. I try to do some sort of self care at least once a week because I know I work too hard if I don't. It's frustrating to take time away from work and adventure, but I remind myself that if I'm not well I won't be able to do either. Happy travels!
You guys need Rid! Had a little smile come to my face when you mentioned Western Australia. The entire West Coast is glorious. From the far NW Kimberley to the Marri and Karri forest and caves to the south-west. Beaches are amazing to camp along.
All that work went into that van, I think you would have to get a good security system installed in it before you guys set off on your trip, You have got me paranoid now!
As a New Orleanian, I'm sorry that you were almost broken into! Unfortunately vehicle break-ins are pretty common. Next time I can hook you up with some gated parking 2 blocks away from Mr. Ed's!
Hey guys, suggestion for security that I use on my bus: check eBay for fake alarm system stickers and put them on all the door windows. Then install a battery powered blinking red LED in the dash and turn it on when you leave. The battery will last forever and both combined will make people think twice before taking a screwdriver to your slider!
Go to Perth, Western Australia. Spend a few nights in Esperence, DEFINITELY go to Kalgoorlie. If you have time, drive through Uluru. Then head to Sydney to continue on your journey. You can drive through the Noongar Plain to get there, just look out for mosquitos...
I know it's way too late now, but for others that may be coming to Florida near salt water, the noseeums are bad during the warmer months, so make sure you have some good bug spray or a device called a Thermacell, You can get them at WalMart in the sports/camping area. Or you can drive like 20 miles inland to camp away from the salt water. Those little sand flies are awful..
I live in Florida. Best places to swim gator free are springs and the ocean. Lakes and swampy areas are a no go unless you get all the info about it. Checking with locals is always the best.
Great vid guys. May i suggest when you travel through France A place called Oradour-sur Glane is a must visit. A place where 642 innocent civilians were killed in WW2. Preserved in thier memory.
I can't help but notice the 1989 Ford Aerostar seats in the van. Those things are SUPER COMFY! Back in the late '80's when I worked for Hertz rent-a-car we had some of those vans in the fleet and we were always trying to get one of those vans to drive around and relax in. Love it so glad you guys went to New Orleans, I rode my bicycle from Scottsdale AZ to Pensacola Florida. Yes TEXAS takes DAYS!! but man the people there are amazing. The whole vibe in New Orleans is amazing, The music food people and houses i was amazing by it.
Yes people in the US get vans with no windows or black out the windows. That beautiful van will catch peoples eyes and then they see you are from out of town. Make sure when you look in you don't see anything that could be sold in a hawk shop
Oh Leah. Sure hope you're feeling better and the van is more comfortable now. Hmmm. Where to go... Unfortunately you started out in my neck of the woods and I missed you. 😢 Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. But I'll be looking forward to every episode to come.
Hi you two, I hope you are both doing well, very sorry to see Lea poorly, please have a week or two off and recharge the batteries x x Me and my 8 year old Daughter Lexi are always looking forward to your Videos, Take care of yourselves x Simon and Lexi x
We live about 40 minutes from Athens, GA and would have loved to have shown you some our local waterfalls ... we have hundreds :-) Kind of a shame you had to blow through so much territory in such a short period of time. There's so much to see and experience.
Tomb story. Years ago, I was in New Orleans on business - an IT conference for the Canadian University I worked for. After the conference, on the plane heading home, a young co-worker told the story of how he and another attendee caught a streetcar that took them from their hotel to a big cemetery where they got off to do the tourist thing. He said the place was mostly empty except for one person they could see sitting up high off in the distance. In short time, that person causally appeared before them saying he was an unofficial guide and that he'd be happy to show them around. They accepted his offer. At one particular tomb they stopped at, he said "do you have a camera with a strap?. Do you want to see what's inside one of these?" - warning them it was grizzly. They said sure - having no idea what was about to happen. The guide took the small camera taking care to wrap the strap tightly around his wrist. He then reached in through a rather small hole in the soffit of the tomb as far as his arm would reach and started clicking the shutter. The photos turned out quite clear and indeed, they were grizzly.
Burn out is a big issue - I hope you are planning to take plenty of time out at intervals during the saga. Better to arrive a little later than planned than collapse in a heap somewhere.
consider a hidden battery cutoff switch so that your van can’t be as easily hot wired. A Stolen van would be way worse than a break in. I went to University in Flint Mi. Student cars were broken into on a daily basis. Locks and alarms are virtually useless and increase the likelihood of sheetmetal damage to the vehicle. Attempts to force locks rarely succeeded but the robber would usually resort to breaking a window. So you’d have a mangled lock or door and a broken window. you grow to appreciate the considerate robbers who just breaks a window right off the bat.
One of my top three worst nights of my life were also because of the no see ums in the bus in Key West. I want to love Florida, but the bugs make it tough.
New Orleans is such a cool little town oh, I'm very sorry that you guys had a bad experience with somebody trying to break into your van. It is very hard not to second-guess everything and not be extra cautious as you go on your trip. I'm glad that that Alaska was able to get a bit more accustomed to the humidity in Florida!
You should consider a tracking device and an alarm system that notifies you when your vehicle is being tampered w. I would not install the siren of make the lights flash. I’d like to catch the perp in action
You are NOT being paranoid!!!!!! And keep Alaska close! Alagaters loce small dogs for lunch! And don’t forget about the water moccasins also. Walking, stay 10 feet in from the shore. Also crocks can assimilate to brackens, mixture of salt and freshwater water.
In cities like New Orleans, I have paid for guarded parking with a patrolman. When I haven't, I've gotten my window smashed--once in Seattle, once in Vancouver. It might mean you have to make a long walk and pay extra...but it's worth it.
Noseeums are horrible. After a night of those in Oaxaca, we got some fine material from a fabric shop (wedding dress fabric) and made covers that could be fitted over the insect screens.
The gators in Florida are a concern, but the bigger thing you have to worry about are the copperheads, they will swarm and bite and then you die a horrible horrible snake venom death. Also id strongly recommend looking into a pager style car alarm with a proximity sensor, they will page you if your alarm is going off.
Your route sounds very exciting! I know that I'm not currently a member or a patreon, but if I may make a suggestion anyway: Once you come back up from Morocco for your three months of Europe, you could try and follow the Moselle river north, at least for a bit. It goes from East France to Western Germany, and it is known for its beautiful, lush valleys, its vineyards and the many castles built alongside it. Also, the Moselle cuts through a town I _definitely_ recommend as a travel destination: Trier, Germany. Trier is Germany's oldest still-existing town, and it was founded by the Romans in 17 b.C. As you might imagine, there are many ancient Roman monuments still visible today, and combined with its beautiful surrounding landscapes and the excellent wine, it is definitely a place worth seeing. I live there at the moment, studying archaeology, so if you need a personal guide to show you around town, I'd love to help! (And maybe also introduce you two to some nice restaurants, cafés and walkways ;) ) But either way, I hope you'll have a fantastic trip! I know that there must be a ton of locations you want to visit, and I'm rooting for you guys to have the best possible experience! Enjoy the road! ☺️
I wouldn’t only be worried about gators, but broken glass in that water! I was also worried about people breaking into your van when you left it alone. I thought for sure someone would smash a window.
First never chew oysters and second I cannot believe y'all didn't get any beignets. Besides that love you guys, and love the series. so sad to see it coming to a end but can't wait for the next one!
@@mos6146oysters are very gritty if not cleaned probably. I've had oyster a few times and when I chew them it feels like I'm eating sand. Best to swallow whole. I'm not a huge fan of oysters because it feels like I'm eating slime. 🤢

You are AWESOME!
Safe travels my friends 🙏
I know the feeling of overdoing it 5 years of non stop work ... Boom anxiety disorder and depression now getting a camper van to chill out
I think everyone could do with slowing down a bit in life
You should consider a tracking device and an alarm system that notifies you when your vehicle is being tampered w.
Good to know, thanks Jake
So no parking lots availible? I don't even dare to leave my car outside in the street even when it is empty
Your route sounds very exciting!
I know that I'm not currently a member or a patreon, but if I may make a suggestion anyway:
Once you come back up from Morocco for your three months of Europe, you could try and follow the Moselle river north, at least for a bit.
(And maybe also introduce you two to some nice restaurants, cafés and walkways ;) )
But either way, I hope you'll have a fantastic trip! I know that there must be a ton of locations you want to visit, and I'm rooting for you guys to have the best possible experience!
Enjoy the road! ☺️
Thanks for the tip!
@@KombiLife You're very welcome! ☺️ Your adventures have inspired me for years now, and I'd love to support you in any way I can.
you were smart about the alligator thoughts. Especially your dog
I wouldn’t only be worried about gators, but broken glass in that water!
I was also worried about people breaking into your van when you left it alone. I thought for sure someone would smash a window.
Fantastic series so far guys, Keep up the great work... You guys are an awesome inspiration!
First never chew oysters and second I cannot believe y'all didn't get any beignets. Besides that love you guys, and love the series. so sad to see it coming to a end but can't wait for the next one!
Never chew oysters ???? There's no taste if you don't chew em. Course you chew em ;-)
@@mos6146oysters are very gritty if not cleaned probably. I've had oyster a few times and when I chew them it feels like I'm eating sand. Best to swallow whole. I'm not a huge fan of oysters because it feels like I'm eating slime. 🤢
Ben Leaha please take a couple of weeks to relax by the beach somewhere thanks for another Awesome video Sean Athens, Vermont
If you spray the screens in Sawyer's Permethrin, it will repel or kill anything that flies. But safe for people and dogs.
Take 2-3 month break, stay safe & healty you two.
Loved the video, as much as I love to follow your life. Please, please take time to enjoy and rest. Love you guys. Someday I hope to meet you guys. But because I have so many horses and cattle it might have to be when you make it back to Washington state or at least British columbia. Sending you love and warm thoughts.
Thanks for your support Blake, we hope you're keeping warm up there! :)
If you find yourself in southern spain we can offer a very comfy bed, superfast wifi, parking, shower and food (oh and beer!!) Chris & Mia and Teddy the pup.
Yes Louisiana is weird, and fantastic, and boring at times, and hot as hell, but I love it. I lived in Louisiana for 3 years, and will be headed back in 2 weeks to see my daughter. Thanks for the video!
People travel in Prius 's because you can set the temperature inside the vehicle while sleeping and keep the windows closed. Of course awesome mpg's and reliability is a plus too.
Overlanding in a Prius doesnt sound fun...
@@keithherring5462 lots do it..i use to travel on a bike..a prius in comparison is pure luxury...you can set the climates controls and will heat or cool while you sleep.
@@thomassutherland5188 what are you talking about? There is no way 2 people and a dog can comfortably live and travel offroad with all the extra supplies and fuel in a Prius ! Where are they going to plug it in when out in the middle of nowhere?
