I really like your statement about not taking sponsorships. I know that many creators will only take sponsorships if they truly like the product, however it always makes me doubt what they're saying as I'm not sure how much of it is true or if they've cut out things that they don't like or could be a drawback because they're getting paid.
True and then they are in contract and the company dictates what they say. I see it happening to many derms I know. They can’t even talk about other products because they will be in violation of the company. I had a mentor who told me that my education is not for sale. I cannot be bought or sold by a company. “You worked hard to get where u are and you are no one’s person” she told me. “You owe that to yourself and to your patients who trust you”That really resonated with me when I was still young and in training and it still does 15 years later. ❤️❤️ Truth

It’s good you’re educating the general public about the pitfalls of online research. Other things to consider: Impact factor of journal matters. Institution of the author matters and their publication history. Often times you can contact the PI and get the article if you don’t want to pay the third party publishers who are taking a huge cut as a middle man. Peer review can be a double edged sword as it’s often old boys club at the top of those boards-you see people getting published based on who they know on editorial boards, rather than the quality of the science. It’s sadly not uncommon to have retractions later if somebody gets caught fudging their data in the aim of publish or peril. It’s not all terrible though and good to have some guardrails-and non clinicians can still access more reputable sources like pubmed for biomedical research that has been peer reviewed. A lot of PIs are happy to send you reprints if you beg nicely and want to see the whole article. Don’t believe everything you skim in the abstract lol. :)

Garden of wisdoms dark circle under eye cream serum literally will make mine disappear. I appreciate the wisdom shared on this channel! But, Bovine beats Marine Collagen? That certainly has not been my experience. Nor has it been the experience of my mother. But I’m sure each brand’s supplier and manufacturing processes play a role in the purity and the efficacy of their products My favorite is Andrew Lessman’s marine collagen. No, I don’t work for him. I’ve just tried a lot of different brands of supplements. He also makes a version that includes type two collagen. And he does offer a bovine collagen, but I found that it wasn’t as effective for me,. Many do like it, tho. He owns his own medical grade manufacturing facility, and he never uses fillers. And, he has strict rules for standardized mixing, testing for contaminants/metals, and guarantees the purity of products . I know I sound like his biggest fan and I suppose I am. All of his products have helped me so much. Anyway… I humbly recommend reading the reviews on HSN. They don’t change reviews on their website, at least they’ve never altered mine, good or bad …. Back to Lessman’s supplements… everything he makes is so good. Dr. Axe’s, multi collagen is also wonderful. The name of his company is ancient nutrition. You have to order Andrew Lessman‘s from his company’s website, Procap, labs, or on HSN. The products by Ancient Nutrition are also quite good and are available on Ancient Nutrition’s website, but also health food stores. Both of these companies also have stores on Amazon, but I find that the best deals are not always on Amazon.
I’m laughing at myself. I’m sorry I gave you such a long response. I know you didn’t even ask for it. I just thought I would share both of these companies for you to test and check out. I find that a lot of people don’t know about them & In my experience, they are vastly superior to what you can buy on the average store. Anyway. This is all just food for thought. I hope you have a good day.
Hi! I’m a bit confused. 10 months ago you posted a video that bovine collage is not as effective as marine collagen, liquid is more effective than powder, and the viral proteins brand has contaminants. In this video you say the exact opposite for all three of these statements. Is your video from 10 months ago no longer valid
Glad you r also taking vital proteins. I am 54 and have been taking it for 5 years. Honestly i was about to change to another brand until i stumbled on your video. Think i should continue then 😊.
This is the 2nd video I watched you are very informative and detailed with explanation. You gained a follower all respect that you don’t do this for sponsoring. ❤
So this is your promised 2ns installment. Whereas the first video terrified us with all of the foods and substances that damage our collagen, now you give us the good news. I am thankful for this 2nd video. I don't like to live in pure fear and anxiety 😎😎I turned 56 by the way, and I think that I look ok considering that I have not done any skin care at all. Now I am going to!
Great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge w/ us all!💗☺️ Idk why this happened for me, but I tried the Vital.Proteins bovine collagen because I saw it was kosher & it did something horrible to my gut. & it took almost a month to get my digestion back to normal. Marine collagen works so much better for me. My big concern w/ the bovine is infection of PRIONS. Which is nothing to be played around with… you do NOT want prions. Are these companies testing for prions?… I’m not sure.. I don’t think I’ve seen any that test for that.. If I’m correct there is no chance for prions w/ marine collagen. If only I could find a good quality Bison collagen powder 🤔 I feel like I’m more comfy w/ bison than bovine 🤷♀️ ⭐️ will you talk about dark circles next please? 🥹🙏
But Marine collagen has higher bioavailability than bovine & I took 8 gms of marine collagen peptides combined with vitamin c Hylaraunic acid, Glucosamine HCL& biotin 😅 it works well for me 😅 As we Indians we hesitate & reject to consume any bovine cow based products 😅
I did the research into marine and bovine and there ARE differences that makes bovine the better source. I don't remember what they are, but I do know that's how I ended up with choosing the bovine for myself. Interesting those watching YT videos think they know better than an actual dermatologist. That was her point of presenting the peer-reviewed studies... Google findings aren't correct half the time. She also has zero reason to support bovine over marine with that brand, also ,because that brand has BOTH available. If that brand only has bovine, then sure there could be dubious intentions (such as brand promotions), but partly not so when the brand has both products.

Love this video! Thank you for educating us. How do you feel about VERASOL Collagen? And also, please do a video on Estrogen/Estriol face creams, do they work or not and what are your thoughts on it?
Proof is in the pudding. I’ve tried many collagen supplements, and I’ve gotten a certain amount of benefits from all of them, but there is one in particular that I am amazed it’s a wild factor. I don’t have to study any peer review or articles. My body will tell me the truth I am my peer review. But I love this video, honey you give a lot of wealth and information. Thank you so much. 🦋🦋🦋💃

@@StephanieFuller-ho3in I think it may have to do with manufacturing practices in certain US states or cities because those labels don't appear here in Australia. The reason I think so is because plastic material was discovered; there was a recall to do with that as well. That's all I know, I'm afraid. But that's true of many food supplements. The problem is products aren't being tested for toxicity to ensure quality manufacturing is going on.

Plz make a video about dark circles caused by insomia on someone already prone to hyperpigmentation ethically. Thank you. It's my first time watching your video and Dr. you've got yourself a new subscriber.
Garden of wisdoms dark circle under eye cream serum literally will make mine disappear. You use it am and pm for two to three weeks depending on how severe then you can just use once a day or every other day. It really has made my lifelong circles practically gone even when tired, and I don't wear any concealer anymore to cover them.
❤ You're videos are awesome! You're such a a smart, beautiful, caring compassionate beautiful girl-woman. My gosh I couldn't be more grateful. 🎉🎉🎉
Can you talk more about the blue light skin damage that we have through our phone and what devices or keys would you put on your phone?
Yes!
The sun gives off hundreds of times more blue light than your devices. It's like being worried about a sunburn from the moon.
Thank you for your transparency. I appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise with the community. 😊
wow I didn't know that Bovine collagene peptides are more effective than marine ! thank you for the informations!
I think that data is relatively new ;)
@@DrStefaniKappelhow about verisol collagen ?
Fatty, lots of marrow bone broth too.
This video was far more informative than I anticipated. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m so excited! I recently started using that collagen but I wondered if it actually worked!
Let us know what you think!!
Thank you so much!!
Very informative video, thank you. I know this is a long shot but is there a vegan version of collagen peptides that you would recommend?
I love your informational videos! Wish the MDAire was less expensive - no way I can afford it long term.
If only I could find a good quality Bison collagen powder 🤔 I feel like I’m more comfy w/ bison than bovine 🤷♀️
⭐️ will you talk about dark circles next please? 🥹🙏
What I love most is you are Real - you teach us about In-Office Procedures that Reverse the damage already done.
Good idea. I also take marine collagen, and it's usually the most recommended one anyway. Not sure why would anybody need a bovine based one.
Yup I’m a vegetarian and prefer marine collagen too. It’s amazing.
What supplements?
@@celestialextraterrestrial305If you eat fish you are a pescatarian not a vegetarian.
Thank you for helping to spread the good news of the peer reviewed study!
As a fellow physician (child psychiatrist) I just want to thank you for this content. I am really enjoying nerding out listening to you just go for it, using the accurate and detailed lingo. Reminds me of histology class in med school sometimes, lol, bless you for being all about those slides 😂. Thanks for sharing knowledge authentically without all the sponsoring. You have really helped me know the questions to ask of the local dermatologists to pursue my own skin care journey as I collect birthdays and wisdom. Solidarity my fellow lady-doctor! 😘
Thank you for being so transparent and not taking sponsorships.
Love this video! Thank you for educating us. How do you feel about VERASOL Collagen? And also, please do a video on Estrogen/Estriol face creams, do they work or not and what are your thoughts on it?
I'll film a video on this shortly. Stay tuned!!
Can't wait!
Can men use estrogen cream for face ?
I do appreciate your honesty! Loving your skin care too! ❤
Yay! Thank you! 😊
Great to know about vital proteins. I'm never 100% sure if what I am taking works. You can get them at Costco and they are sometimes on sale.
All this knowledge for free. I feel like your channel is literally a gold mine.
Wow, thanks!
Love the detail in your explanations.
I’m terrible for having sugar today. I’ll do better when I wake up. Wish me luck!❤️

@@DrStefaniKappel I appreciate your encouragement. Looking so young as you do is my goal as I’m in my late 50s. Very inspired. Thank you❤️

Oh the “self tanner” was my question! Thank you for your answer! ❤
Welcome!!
Which one? 😊
Which one?

So glad I found your channel! Hoping to be selected to try your skin products. I know you are a fan of interment fasting as I am. Do you feel that Vital protein collagen will break a fast or stop at autophagy? I don’t do smoothies and it seems it mixes best with coffee (something hot) but since I drink coffee before I end a fast I don’t want to take it. Guess I need to drink something else but still want to know if you thing it will break a fast. Thank you!
i really like how you recommend products that are actually good, and not like some influencers who recommend products for money. you earned a sub! :D
Always looking forward to your educational videos ❤
I'm so glad!
This is the most informative skincare video I’ve ever seen on TH-cam. I hit that subscribe button after just five minutes into your video!
Wow. Thank you for all of this super useful information.
I’d be interesting to see an at home video of your skin care routine and maybe some tips for us out here that cannot afford some of these treatments on a regular basis… cost effective plans for our skin. Thank you!
This channel is a blessing ! Thank you so much!
congrats!!!look at you in the juicy 40’s❤❤🎉🎉🎉 Keep glowing up!!
Thank you. I'm 54. Im pretty fresh. But, there are no remedies to reverse age. You will notice it after 50. I looked like you until 50. Thats when it started. You can look pretty good though. Following a guy who just turned 60. He looks like hes 40. Collagen peptides and vitamines keeps you a great after 50 woman.
Thank you so much for your honesty, learning a lot , although I do see ur video a few times since you speak so fast❤your amazing intelligent & beauty!
Excellent video as usual. Do you have any recommendations of which brands to use other than vital? I use it but I’ve heard you should change it up. Should I take silica with it as well? Will you be coming out with your own line ? I would buy it!
I'll have to do a little more research and get back to you ;) I think if you stick to hydrolyzed, bovine, free of heavy metals and powder form you cant go wrong!
thank you for this wealth of knowledge 🎉 I’m curious about the EZ Gel as well. I’m an esthetician so i’m loving your sponsor free knowledge ❤

Thank you Dr Stefanie🙏 as usual such a great information. I have a question what is your opinion on ultra clear laser? Thank you doctor and have a blessed day🙏❤️
I love that laser and have heard many good things about it at our dermatology conferences. I don’t have one personally but I like that laser-yes ❤️
Great job, very informative..
What a beautiful human being, inside n out.
I love that you are not sponsored at all!! So, I feel I can ask this bc Ik you will answer truthfully.
There is a warning that Vital Proteins contains Lead-Why would we choose to take it or why would you choose to take it? Not trying to come across rude but just need to know for my own personal intake of Collagen. I returned my Vital protein powder bc of the Contains Lead Label per California to cause birth defects or othrr repriductive harm.
Please lmk as I completly respect your knowledge and research.
❤✌❤
@stephanieFuller-hp3in That only pertains to a certain batch, which were contaminated and have now since been recalled. They were sold at Costco.
@@Dory8 It says it on all labels of Vital Proteins though? Is it bc of the facility it is manufactured in?
@@StephanieFuller-ho3in I think it may have to do with manufacturing practices in certain US states or cities because those labels don't appear here in Australia. The reason I think so is because plastic material was discovered; there was a recall to do with that as well. That's all I know, I'm afraid. But that's true of many food supplements. The problem is products aren't being tested for toxicity to ensure quality manufacturing is going on.
