I've seen artists sign contracts they didn't read past the money they were getting upfront while ignoring clauses indicating that they would have to repay most of the expenseses covered by the company. They had houses, cars, jewelry, and so on, enjoying the best life not knowing that they were borrowing money. End of the fiscal year, and here come the bills.
