Referrals are very underrated and neglected especially by the freshers, and once they get into the corporate world, they just tend to think that referrals won't be important anymore. This video surely gives a waking call for such people.
Now if you look there are literally hundreds of jobs posted for DXC. I recently joined the company - I had applied for one position with a company that DXC had just bought, but my interviews were with DXC. So they didn't feel I was the perfect fit for the job that I applied for, but that I was a great fit for a job they were going to open in the next couple of weeks. Turns out that position was exactly what I was looking for and the interview process was the one of the best I've ever gone through. Now that I'm on, I'm astounded at the organization of the company, the wonderful culture and collaboration opportunities, and all of the 'extras' (lots of projects and lots of perks for an employee to take advantage of). At this point in my career, it's my dream job with a fantastic company and excellent coworkers.
Awesome, when I was in Sales, I got a job through LinkedIn in Middle East just sharing my resume with the director of Company. So Networking does play a role in your career.
Hi Mahdi. Your sharing is always amazing and sincere. These materials did help me a lot since I'm gonna graduate within the next few weeks and looking for a position in Management consulting. Thank you so much 😍😍 Can't wait to see your next videos about how to properly network with strangers. Cheers!!
Mahdi! Man, you are doing a great material, thank you for motivating us, inspiring us, and your videos are getting much much better, and the content is also presented better! However, your connecnt is always helpful! Thank you one more time, for all you do for us!
Really well done. Clear objectives and good insight in the consulting world! Unfortunately didn't make past second round for KPMG but looking to grow my connections at the firm.
Hello my friend ! How have you been ? Its great to see that you posted this video ; I am happy for you and proud of you ; you are my friend hey ! Hey ! I am from Managua I mean the capital of Nicaragua , hey ! Where are you from ?
A friend of mine named Mahdi, when I was in training about how to get an interview told me that a close friend of his was working in the company I was trying to get an interview :)
Absolutely agree with you about networking. So you are still in Canada now and doing the job in America? I'm just curious how many hours per week do you work on this job?
Yup, still in Canada! Most of my clients are on the same TimeZone so it helps. My hours haven't changed that much since PwC, still fluctuating depending on the project phase, but it's always around 40-45h/week
Such a great video Mahdi, thanks! As an industrial management engineering student, I don't have much experience in strategy consulting but looking forward to learning about it. Do you think that practicing cases is efficient to get the basics? Thanks
Thanks Chaimae!! Absolutely, cases are super important if you want to get used to being a consultant. My next video will be all about how to prepare case interviews :) Having the right framework & thinking method is key!

Ask them for phone calls, Zoom calls or coffee and ask them about their job, how they find it, what's their career story, and what are their main challenges -> try to see how you can be valuable to them, this is how you grow your network, learn about consulting and build relationships to later have referrals 3. If you have a consulting student club join it to practice cases. If not, try to have as much practical experience as possible through part time jobs to learn basic soft skills like Customer Service, Sales, Presentation skills.

Lol, I'm sorry. It's hard for me to keep connected with people who did nothing in group projects. That was so stressful. I would still say hello if I see them around. But I can't expend energy keeping connected.
