Love this! I went on the registry two years ago after seeing a video like this and yesterday I got the call that I might be a match for a 17 year old girl. I cried when I heard. We’re gonna do further testing but I hope I end up being able to help her.
My brother had bone marrow transplant 12 days ago and his nurse was name Emily too lol. that's so cute and I am so happy for this beautiful lady. What awesome young man God bless
Very excited to witness a real gentleman in action! Great-spirited person, giving a part of themselves, to another great-spirited person!!! May God continue to bless you all!!!
Well, he has my admiration, from what i understand the extraction process is extremely painful, and they need you awake for it. So to go through that pain for a complete stranger is truly heroic!
Go Cats My son who is a 3rd yr pharmacy school student did a Stem Cell Donation a week ago yesterday. Go Cats, Eric put himself on the registry in 2018 when Andrew Smith a Butler Basketball player passed away from Cancer. Eric was a big Andrew Smith fan and 3 mos. ago or so he got a text from be the match and he went through all the testing and found out he was a match for the Lady who was diagnosed with Leukemia. Our son is a hero and he saved a life. Hopefully one day he will get to meet the person whose life he saved.
Everyone should be a donor. I received a heart transplant from someone I don't know and a kidney from my mom. People are dying every day waiting for transplants and bone marrow.
My son also got a heart. We just met his donor's family this past Christmas. Beautiful people. Our family grew that day they gave us the greatest gift.
Beautiful. Last month I was notified that my swab was finally processed and I was put on the registry and now I can’t help but keep checking my email everyday to see if I was matched with someone
Such a simple thing that gives so much. That little boy gets to have his Mom. You can tell he loves her so much. WTG Thaddeus you registered at precisely the right time to save this Mom's life and change sorrow to happiness for that entire family.
DKMS. One of the best German exports!!! God bless everyone involved here! - I am registered for almost 8 years now and I am still waiting for the one who needs me! ♥️
There are some genuinely mean people out there. I responded on a video like this that I was a lung transplant recipient at 68 years old (I am currently 73). Some truly kind hearted soul responded and said he would not donate any of his organs if they would be wasted on an old guy like me. How do you respond to an ignorant person like that? So don't be surprised, Ahmed. Meanness is alive and well in certain people! The good news is I have seen my grandson, named Michael, born, my daughter married, and she will deliver a grand daughter in February! Plus my wife and I will celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary April 26th. All this is possible to the good man who donated his organs to many people. Concentrate on the good ones.
I was on the registry for the longest time. I am now 45 and not well, heath wise. This means I am no longer able to be a donor for anyone. It breaks my heart to think that I will not be able to help any one in any way. :( Beyond frustrating.
I appreciate that!! My daughter when she was in middle school set to enter high school, was that way. She really didn't understand this very much. You won't die from blood or marrow donations! Now that she is older and understands, she is registered as an organ donor as well as bone marrow. She has donated blood countless times. Its OK to help someone without a personal gain.
I was on the registry for years. I remember very well the day that I tearfully removed myself as my health was deteriorating rapidly. I knew I would be of no use anymore. I was subsequently diagnosed with cancer. Although I've been cancer free for five years, my health will never be good enough to donate anything now. I joke that no one wants my diseased body parts. But it does hurt.
John Reed it can be uncomfortable in the immediate aftermath of donating, but by all accounts it's quite minor. There are no effects on the donor, its no different to giving blood, the cells replace themselves very quickly.
We need a system where donors get priority when recieving. I feel a system like that would be a lot more fair and would get the last people over the edge.
Thank you is really not enough. This is Grace undeserved like Jesus gave us on the Cross. There is plainly nothing that can be done to repay a debt like this except to pass it on.

Bone marrow transplant saved my mothers life when she had a 15% chance of living. 10 years later shes still here. Love you mom
This is so precious, Thank You All for this action. So wonderful that someone would do this to save another person's life.

I am 35. I have Spina Bifida, and I have one kidney, I have had 72 operations. I am a registered donor myself! Makes me feel very proud!
Love how her son gave him a ride! 😊
I think it should be 'gave him a rose', but auto correct changed it to 'ride'.
Register as a donor. You might literally save someone’s life
HOW CAN SOMEONE REGISTER AS A DONOR?
Thaddeus Kunkel is a hero. Period.

♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
He is amazing and cute
What courage! I’m on the registry
I'm really confused about people who dislike this video. Could someone tell me why cause I really want to know what's going on in their minds.
Seriously! That's what I want to know, too!

You are a good person Kristi and very, very kind. I wish you the very best! God Bless!!
Thank you. I appreciate your kind words. Stay blessed!

@Ashton Greene It is very sad. Stay blessed xo

Does donating the marrow hurt or have any last health effects on the donor
John Reed it can be uncomfortable in the immediate aftermath of donating, but by all accounts it's quite minor. There are no effects on the donor, its no different to giving blood, the cells replace themselves very quickly.
Same question here
They have to poke you to get it but other than that it won't hurt you.
