  • This Creo Parametric tutorial shows how to create a Gravity Load as part of a structural analysis in Creo Simulate. Gravity Loads consist of a vector and an acceleration and allow structural analyses to take an object's inertia into account when calculating stresses and displacements.

    While I understand you can consolidate all of your acceleration loads into one resultant vector and apply it through this process, is there no way to apply multiple acceleration loads in a single simulation? When I try to add gravity, and then add a separate acceleration load, it gives me an error that the load type already exists and I can either delete the other one or suppress it or cancel. Thank you for all of your videos!

      It’s been a while since I’ve done this, but you should be able to put each acceleration load into a separate load case. Then when you run the analysis, you can run all load cases. When you generate results, you can pick and choose which cases are displayed.

    Hi sir! I hope you will be fine.
    I applied a gravity load in my assembly. And my assembly doesn't have a coordinate system at the center of mass. So when I select another coordinate system it applies directly on that coordinate system rather than at the center of mass of that assembly.
    One way to solve this is I can make a coordinate system at the center of mass of that assembly.
    But I want to ask if there is anyway that we can apply gravity automatically to the center of the mass of an assembly even if we don't have a coordinate system at the center of the mass.

      Gravity is applied to the model geometry, not to a coordinate system.

    Sir , how do we determine the correct or sufficient convergence percentage in creo simulation?..In which case keeping convergence lower than 10% percentage is reasonable ?

      That's where experience and requirements come into play. Are you working on something with redundancy, or is relatively inexpensive to replace? In that situation, you could be fine with a higher convergence percentage. However, if failure would be catastrophic to the product, have a high cost, or potentially result in human injury or death, you would want a lower convergence percentage.

    I presume that component material must be properly set?

      Yes, analyses require that materials with valid properties be assigned to the components.

      Honestly, I’m not always going to do that. I make feature and function videos, usually with made-up scenarios. I recommend before you use the functionality, you run a test case for verification.
