Love this! That verse melody reminds me a lot of Death Cab. And it's cool to see your Ableton-Reaper workflow. Your Ableton videos are making me consider actually learning and putting to use that Live Lite license I have.
Good Video, nice to see the time lapsed, edited video of you building the project
It’s like a cross between Death Cab and Pavement. Good job David
made me think of nada surf a bit
Great video & demonstration of some skills to change an idea into a song!
I really appreciate your videos🌟🌟🌟
Great stuff thanks!!!
This reminds me of the Alan Parson’s Project.
Well done
Awesome song
Awesome video! :D came for learning on how to improve on my Ableton skills and found out it is actually OK to work between Ableton and Reaper (which I've been doing for a while and felt bad about it xD)
Question.
Why didn't you record the guitars and vocals directly in Ableton? Why you decided to use Reaper to that part of the process?
Was not expecting to hear these Sunny Day Real Estate vibes!
Really week done, gonna reference this later.
Great video, cool song! The Bandcamp link to the song seems to be broken though.
Thanks! I just fixed it. :)
I like your hair
I love the result. Which mic are you using for your vocals?
Thanks! I'm use the ridiculously cheap MXL990. I have a few more expensive mics, but for some reason the MXL seems to sound best for my voice.
Thanks for your reply. I’m currently exploring microphones for singing and sampling with a bit more frequency range( I currently use a SM57).
I love your channel btw, might dive into Kontakt myself once I have acquired a license.
Before you replaced the piano with the guitar it sounded like an indie pop song that would’ve been popular in like the late 00’s
"How I record in Ableton"
*Records in Reaper* 😅
(I kid, if you like Reaper's take function, why not use it?)
And the flaming lips sound in there too
Sound kind like Sonic youth
Sounds like if death cab, Radiohead, and coldplay had a musical baby
Whats the BPm on this track?
140BPM
Drums maybe half time?
why you recording on reaper if you can recording in ableton? why??
When I made this video, Ableton Live didn’t have a take system. This was added in Ableton Live 11.
@@DavidHilowitzMusic really?? ooh! wow! thank's for the aclaration... I use Ableton live 11 just this year. ( I coming from FL Studio )
@@DavidHilowitzMusic what is the take system? just DI etc. at once
@@DavidHilowitzMusic What's take system?
I mean objective.
so cheesy but I like this
It has kind of a Foo Fighters feel to it.
More like Interpol I think
Anything but haha.
Hair brush, its a wonderful invention
sounds a little bit like Jimmy Eat World
All those fake instruments smh
