    After more than 1000 Building Inspections in this life I really enjoy most of the Inspectors in Idaho that I have delt with.

      100% agree. We have had nothing but good experiences and feel they are genuinely trying to help us.

    Nothing like the feeling of self reliance. Suprised you went with a gas dryer. Great job guys! We love seeing your progress

    Trust me on this. Run the gas line to the stove now while you can. After living off grid for 6 years and cooking with gas make sure you get a rangecombo that has battery spark for both the oven and burners. Our current gas oven only has spark for the burners. It has an electric plate that has to run the whole time to run the oven. It uses so much power that in the winter, we run the generator. Talk to others offgrid for our experience!

    Propane line to stove…now’s the time. In case you change your mind. Nice to have! My house had electric stove but when it broke we went with propane because there was a line installed. Options ❤

    You should consider an indirect water heater. You're already going to have a boiler.

    YEAH! Congratulations! FYI one issue with Teflon tape used to seal propane systems is that pieces of it may break off and contaminate the line.

    • @MountainBeaches
      @MountainBeaches  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hadn’t thought of that. Interesting though when the propane company came to install the tank and connect to our stub-out, they used Teflon tape.

    Hey Norm, I noticed that your inverter chargers are running at 50 hz. North America is 60 hz.

    Self reliance? Propane is more efficient than electric for heating anything but you are still not self reliant if you need propane delivery. Run wiring and the proper outlets for stove, dryer and water heater

    • @MountainBeaches
      @MountainBeaches  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Good points. The propane is mainly for backup purposes. The water heater will normally be heated from our wood fire boiler. Thanks.

      Funny, I thought the same thing when I saw propane....lol

    • @MountainBeaches
      @MountainBeaches  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@RoadLifePursuits our motto is two is one and one is none. The propane system is for backup and redundancy. Our main reason for propane is that in the winter here in N. Idaho we get long stretches of little to no sun making solar difficult. A generator is a must to insure a backup method of charging our batteries. Yes we are reliant on purchasing the propane but we also now have a 1,000 gallon tank that should provide backup energy and will last a long time.

    What is that noise in the background....I hope you don't have to listen to that all the time....bummer

    • @MountainBeaches
      @MountainBeaches  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It’s the sound of power haha. When the generators are pulling in a ton of power from the solar system the fans kick on occasionally. I’ve we insulate and enclose that utility room it will be MUCH better.
